Many years ago, when I'd been riding for only 5 years or so, I mate and I were sitting having a chat about why we didn't want to get into an outlaw club. The question had been asked by a guy who didn't have a clue about that whole scene. He was a nice enough guy and he was our landlord. He didn't turn a hair that the disassembled bike in the living room. (It was on a drop sheet, so the carpet wouldn't wrecked, but he was a very cool landlord) Anyway, he had asked the question in all innocence and we told the reasons why. They amounted to pretty much all you see in SoA. It doesn't matter how much you may want to not become a monster, the sad fact is that this is a criminal lifestyle, somewhere along the line and if you don't become top dog, you stand a very good chance of ending badly. Often at the hands of someone else in the club, who's prepared to go over the line you have drawn in front of yourself. The ideals of brotherhood, etc, all sound good, but when push comes to shove, as it inevitably does in that world, it's just words. We see this played out in Sons and what I like about it, is that this is far from some rose tinted glasses look at the outlaw club world. Both my friend and I are still riding, living in a different country, not far from one another and still in the wind at 67 and 70 respectively. Once or twice we've talked about that day and the look of horror on the face of that landlord, as we told him of the people we knew and had known, who had headed down that road. I've known so-called Christian Bike clubs that act more like the Sons of Anarchy than they realise. Including stand-over tactics when someone in the club raised an objection to some decidedly un-christian things. I think that whole idea is off anyway. It's like trying be a Christian hard rock band. It's an oxymoron. I only mention this outfit because it's clear to me that far from them being a good influence on the outlaws, the reverse was happening. Who'd a thunk? Anyway, I love the show, but it's how that world turns and there's no getting around that. I've heard people criticise it because they say it glamourises that world, which is about as dumb as OAC! Anyone watching that series who then says; "Hey that look like a real cool way to live! I think I'll go and try to join an MC!" Is seriously challenged, mentally. It's a TERRIBLE advertisement for that life! I have nothing but respect for those who live according to their own code, etc and if being a 1%er is what they want, that's their business and good luck to them, but I've stayed a loner for the half century I've been riding and although I get long with many club guys and with anyone else I come cross, I have no desire to be in a club like SAMCRO. Or any other for that matter.

Ride on Sons of Anarchy ❤, the best series i have ever seen, loved the beginning but a sad ending 😢, all of the pain and suffering that the MC endured by playing the characters had to take a toll in their daily life ❤
