Manga noob learns about My Hero Academia & Demon Slayer (+Manga First Haul) | XEI Archive 20200716
Dug this OLD vlog up from the archive, from way back in 2020 when I had just started to buy manga, with hopes of reading (and creating content). But with a home move and life disruption leading to books going to storage for the last year, I've just got the manga all back and watching this first-ish manga vlog really brought back some good memories (and reminded me of some 2019-2020 era thoughts!).
While re-watching this old video, I took the opportunity to run it through a "silence remover" process and removed a bunch of "ums" and redundant stuttered thoughts, added the background music, and combined two vlogs into one.
This Archive version gets to live on here to showcase my early journey into manga!

    Even though you are going about this manga first you should consider reacting to certain anime episodes without reading the manga counterpart beforehand. There are spcific episodes in AOT that are routinely being searched for when it comes to reaction content, and it would likely make for a better viewing experience regardless. I could tell you what the episodes are if you want.

      I'm prioritizing the manga as the first experience--because it came first--and I'm a fan of experiencing the evolution of a product, or writer/manga. This channel isn't really focused on "easy growth". For context, I've done a few pet project doing reaction channels since 2018. They did a LOT better in 2018 than my go at it in 2023-2024. TH-cam seems to be suppressing NEW Reaction channel content. Something tied to "reuse" in the automated detection system is messing up reach and distribution on reaction uploads. Regardless, I'm far more focused on books and story telling experiences, more than trying to simply grow a channel with reactions (which despite my comments above, is still the best and fastest way to grow on TH-cam, based on my uploading experiences... reacting to content still gets the best initial yield... but this type of content doesn't mix well with channels that upload content BEYOND reactions; the algorithm decimates future uploads that don't stick to the niche :)). With this personal channel, it's more for the hobby of it all, where I don't really want to "play the algorithm" for the sake of being a slave to the machine hahaha. Just want a place to chill with folks who are also looking to chill :D.

      Do you have any awareness of manga reaction type content specifically? Does it usually focus only on key chapters (obviously because of some shocking reveal etc)? And are they more vlog style bantering videos about the manga chapters, as opposed to 'read alongs" or whatever these might be called out there? I've done surface searches, since trying this idea years ago, and I feel like I'm getting completely different (trend) results every year. No consistent idea seems to have stuck out there, or the algorithm has buried the content I found before...

    • @kenshusoue7679
      @kenshusoue7679 22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@NunoXEIShay Manga reactions that I have seen cover the entire content fairly equally. Some are done in read alongs and others in a review type fashion, though most read alongs I have seen display the manga pages using an online manga website. I would personally prefer some hybrid of both where there is an initial viewing of the content with some later reflection thereof. Chances are, if AOT manga reactions are sought, it is for a deeper discussion of the content than is usually provided. That or because of a reading preference, I suppose. Maybe noting the arcs or anime season counterparts of the volumes would make these videos easier to find since that is the way non manga readers are familiar with certain parts of the story, but it might be a bit tricky to do with arc names so you would want someone who has read the material to give you the names of parts you have already read without giving anything away of the storyline.

    I picked up Joe Hill's N0S4A2 last year as a Christmas read just because of one detail mentioned in the synopsis, so I didn't expect much. Afterwards I was left speechless. The best way I can describe it is if Stephen King didn't slow down with his late 80s early 90s horror writing binge but it somehow blended in nicely with today's world as the Stand did with the late 70s and It did with the late 80s. N04A2 was amazing and gives you everything you'd want from old Stephen King without feeling like Joe Hill copied his dad. It was so good I flew through the last 260 pages in one day.

    I found AI is a great at improving Orwellian prose, making sentences clearer and more readable. It's also good in breaking information into chunks and slotting those chunks into easy to follow paragraphs. What it's terrible at is authentic voice, artistry and subtext. AI is a great learning tool, but it doesn't use language to express an inner world. It can therefore never replace you.

    Didn't you say you weren't going to do any more hauls bc of the prices in that one comment or something? Man is suffering from afflictions like a Darkest Dungeon character fr, go to the Abby and cleanse that shit XD. Gonna buy more books than you'll be able to read through. At least you'll be able to eat them if the end of the world happens or something. Hey, I have LOTR book myself, although just the Fellowship of the Ring, I needed a book for the university task years ago. Mine is the 2012 print tho, although I bought it somewhere in 2019-2020. Need to re-read (and finish) it, since reading for an assignment with deadline and reading for yourself are COMPLETELY different things, precisely the reason my passion for books died during school years and didn't resurface until graduation year. IDK where the actual book is, the small bookshelf is shared between my crap and my baby brother's school supplies, so it's a mess to find anything there. I'll trust the Goodreads with the print year info😅. And man, I peeped the Harry Potter books while I was looking up the print year, and the covers gave me so much nostalgia, cuz my books no longer have them, got them since before I even got into school, it's just 4 binds of pages since my mom only bought me the first 4 books as a kid😔. one of these days I'll hopefully buy new ones with the same print. Certainly take integrity of books much more seriously as an adult, the 2nd Honkai art book is STILL sealed in the see-through thingie, did cave in and looked through the first one when the country had struggles with power supply this Summer to kill time, it's longer than I excpected. Did found a Houkai 3rd Visual FanBook on Amazon by chance, while in JP only, seems to have art not included in the ones I have (it's from 2018 so either before or just around when they launched the game for non-Asian countries) I believe (maybe some of it is in 2nd one, but I wouldn't know).could be worth getting and translating yourslef, seems to have early story synopses and character descriptions, I think based on "act 1,2" etc sections of the text. The more videos like this you make, the more I remember stuff I used to read. I remember re-reading one book a lot back as a kid, The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne. The only things I remember really, are author's name bc I as a kid found it really funny how his name sounds like julienne, the food, an illustration of an island and a monkey called Jup, the rest is completely blank so I'd be re-reading it basically blind if I get it, I don't think we have the book anymore. Apperantly the other story I read, 20k leagues under the seas, is also by the same author which is news to me, but I don't remember jack from the story as it was also part of the study corriculum and it was used in the English class to learn english (it was a basically a booklet, so not a complete story, just exceprts), rather than actually work on the story. Read something picking up Jack London from grandpa's book collection at some point but idk what it was. Some of the other stuff I actually read that was required by a uni, and not just know the synopsys off through attending class, is Beowulf which I remember liking at the time tho I think I only read the "Part 1" of the story, so to speak, before the time-skip bc you have a time limit for renting the books from the uni library, I believe. I did originally go into books from school years in this paragraph, but that only went on to unearth some repressed memories of me not fitting in with what the school wanted from kids or society in general, which I decided to erase from this comment for everyone's sake, so about 75% of the comment. I've save the tragic backstory/ schizo anger rant on how I hate school system and government and so on and so forth, for Class of 09 let's play if that happens, where it'd actually be fitting. THEN things might get unfiltered, mask off even... To close it off on a positive note, definitely not using these vids to fill in my to-read list haha 😏. Maybe I'll add your ass on Goodreads just to see what are you up to and compare your reviews to my opinion, if you post them that is, I've had the account for a while myself but did absolutely nothing with it since I forgot. IDK if I'll ever post any reviews or score on there, as I am actually pretty self-concious 😳(something tells me you wouldn't have this impression of me based on occassional sus comments on YT or our DMs, and there is certainly a lot you DON'T get to see of me on other people's content and spaces XD, not that I ever show true colors to anyone), so posting on a normie space would be difficult.

      I agree with the academic reading versus personal. I just finished organizing all my university novels in their own section. I still can't seem to split them up so they blend with the genres etc that they're a part of. I have a number of university books that I simply can't remember a goddamn thing about. I have a King Arthur section too, which was a specialization lit course, and we had to read the earliest of the works up to modern, so I got some Old English texts in there--Beowulf is somewhere in the first early half and I recall it having some older language constructions in there! I will want to leave actual reviews on GoodReads, if I can put the time aside to convert my vlog ramblings to something focused, or write GR reviews first, and then use those as notes. I rebooted my account so that I can try to leave something more substantial and clear behind. I had no idea why I left the ratings I did for stuff on my old account--so the stars alone are okay, but over time, all the context of WHY fades and the stars alone become effectively useless. And, no, I wouldn't assume you'd be self-conscious... but then again, I'm uber self-conscious as well, which is why the whole multi-channel "identity crisis" event happened over the last 3 years :D. You have to push against these challenges though as it'll reveal stuff about yourself along the way, which will be helpful for future decisions etc!

    From using AI myself, Gemini AI is apparently allergic to politics and always insist on unnecessary questionaires of my story for my experience using it for some time. I think Gemini AI for me is better as a juiced up searching engine rather than a collaborator.

      Agreed. This is the one I dropped after the free month! It kept fighting my intentions with its own internal prompt guidelines. It also kept crashing on me and evaporating past context, which of course, makes writing fiction over 5000 words an absolute disaster as you have to spend lots of time recontextualizing the AI, which loads up its session memory, and leads to an earlier crash. Terrible work cycle!!

    It's funny that this video appeared today for me. Yesterday I was using ChatGPT to help me get some ideas for building my story. To give you a bit of context, when I was a teenager I had this (non original) idea writing books about some kids with elemental powers fighting the forces of evil. Though it may seem similar to Avatar, it was mostly inspired by Digimon. Anyway, this week I decided to get back to this story, but wanted to expand on it. I asked a bunch of questions to ChatGPT about it. For example: what would be some interesting passive and active abilities of people with elemental powers? How about their weaknesses? How do the elements relate to their own personalities in a symbolic way? What if "aether" was an element too? It was very good to have this conversation, because it brought many condensed topics that I wouldn't otherwise have thought of if I was just searching these topics on Google. Yes, it's a limited tool, and it can bring false information, but I think it's great to be able to expand on multiple ideas in this speed and in an organic way

    Hey good video. I'm in the same boat as you and have used multiple versions of AI to come to the conclusion that it's not easy to get anything good out of AI, but if you give it something good, it can help you make it better. With the latest version of Chat GPT 4o I feel that it is at a point where it can be helpful to writers. I haven't used Claude but used Sudowrite and I dislike the output that it gives and the structure you are bound to within it. I dig the latest version of GPT and use it help craft stories that are more "me" than AI. The aversion to it in the community just has me feeling that people are missing the point of AI, like AI is not going to replace human writing, but it can help make human writing better. I have a large family, work a regular job, and now with AI have to potential to work on multiple stories at once and it's encouraging as a creative. I don't feel like it's cheating because it's my ideas, and my words, and the AI is just helping expand on that, helping to give life to something I would otherwise become stuck on. Where it really shines is non-fiction or if you want to add some depth by adding statistics to your writing. Looking forward to more videos from you.

      I strongly recommend you check out Claude Sonnet! What you'll find in its strength is that it has a more diverse language and composition control when you spend some time to condition it to your style and intentions. NOW, that said, it tends to revert back to foundational problems with it's conclusions, specifically, and you gotta get in there and nudge scenes and choreography sometimes, but the benefits come in the consistency of dialogue and character exchanges. With most of these, the strength of consistency comes from your ability to constantly engage with the AI with revisions and questioning probes. This builds up the context it needs to be persistent for longer. Eventually it breaks down (they all do). ChatGPT is great at world building bibles and outlines though! This is the closest we get to non-fiction with future-fiction intentions :). ChatGPT will be more systematic with this kind of language and output, whereas Claude will get more "fluffy" and--I'm not sure how to describe it--"conversational" maybe?! Might be the way I prompt my way through the dynamic?? Each certainly has their strengths as tools to make writers more EFFICIENT, and absolutely "better" when it comes to basics like grammar and style consistency. You save so much time not having to worry that you left glitchy prose or a type or punctuation behind!!! You just KEEP MOVING FORWARD! This so encouraging when we have time limitations that impact motivation and inspiration! Too many folks just focus on the results, not the process benefits! Totally hear you!

    Thank you for making this video. Like you, I have more years behind me than ahead of me and AI has accelerated my writing process. I've also been making the argument that an AI co-author gets you that first draft faster. As all writers know, the first draft is garbage. So why not use AI to help write your 'garbage' draft? The purpose of the first draft is for you to see the 'shape' of the story and have a blueprint for writing the real story. As you point out, the human element comes in the many (sooo many) edits and revisions. For people who don't like AI and don't want to use it, that's OK. What's not OK is the constant gatekeeping. You brought up how 'real' artists felt when digital art was new. The same thing happened in photography when digital cameras became affordable to the average consumer. I'm old enough to remember when Word Processing Computers (and then PCs and Word Processing software) were new and 'real' writers denigrated anyone who didn't use a typewriter (this article about the AMSTRAD is full of the same arguments you hear from the anti-AI crowd today. www.theguardian.com/books/2015/aug/28/how-amstrad-word-processor-encouraged-writers-use-computers ) I hear a lot of fence sitters say it's OK to use AI for spelling and grammar check things. When those were introduced, they were controversial too. 'Real' writers were up in arms that writing was too easy for wannabe writers if they didn't have to spend years memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules.

    I've tried AI writing enough to know that is relies on "as you know" dialogue, does not understand subtext and is allergic to themes. To write even a passable script with AI, you would have to prompt it with so much details on the world, the characters, etc. that at that point you realise you've written the script yourself

      HAHA bingo bango. Have you run into ChatGPT's relentless "testament of the X Y" or it's unclever overuse of "tapestry" metaphors? How about Claude's relentless ambiguous prophetic faux-foreshadow chapter conclusions, despite routinely calling it out and explicitly giving it directions to (my words in the custom instructions): "Knock that crap off"? How about Gemeni's unwillingness to write violent scenes like the protag fighting for their life against life-threatening antags and expecting compelling, reasonable, choreography? And I'm not sure if ChatGPT still does this, but you ever get tired of how a character is never just "frightened", but "frightened and curious", they aren't just "overwhelmed", but "overwhelmed and awe-inspired"--you can't get it to just commit and focus on a SINGLE negative emotion, it has to add a positive angle. Like... it's the apocalypse, the protag's family has all been killed, why the hell is the protag "hopeless but also inspired"? I can go on an d on :).

    Attack on Titan is Isayama's first serialized manga, he did the first one-shot around 2006-ish when he was 19 and then got chapter 1 published on 2009 when he was 22. He was a pretty young and inexperienced artist by that point and i think it sort of reflects in the art of the early volumes. With the off looking proportions and perspective.

    I use AI to make funny pictures and I was tempted to see if it'd translate the goofy randomness to text but it's really not worth it. It's useful as a research assistant. I like being able to actually talk to something when trying to do research on something obscure because Google is close to useless and only ques up results from irrelevant sources that just paid to be at the top of the page and I got better things to do than cut through thousands of listicle sites that might not even be valid. Though telling it to rewrite something "in the style of x" and seeing what happens is kinda funny. Nothing practical. Could probably be used to edit as well. Just doesn't seem efficient enough. Sorta like how you don't trust spellcheck to automatically correct everything in a document. You still have to go through manually. The problem people have is that they immediately have this knee jerk assumption that you wrote the ENTIRE text with AI and did no work.

    • @NunoXEIShay
      @NunoXEIShay 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Bingo to all the above. The "secret" way that I've made it work for me touches on one of the points you made: engage with the AI like it's a collaborator that you're bouncing ideas off of and jamming some prose with, and you'll slowly chip away at the story idea YOU have. I've used it as an editor and it CAN be reasonably good EXCEPT in longer sessions, where you eventually start to see that It's patternistic with its feedback or revisions to the point of degrading long form drafts into something worse, not better. Maybe this changes some day, but right now? Absolutely not. You have to put in the work. It's just a different dynamic of work. Still work though.

    While I can see where people come from in terms of AI, and I do share some of the concerns, for good reasons (much more realistic deepfakes, AI voices, AI video generating/editing tools can easily get out of control and used for malice once they develop far enough to no longer have blatant artifacts and shortcomings), but other than that I'd say it's just a typical cycle of new innovative thing getting the hate (like when people hated car seat belts back in the day, although I guess they still do so maybe not the most accurate example), but it'll eventually somewhat die . Also, people complain about it, yet they still use so many features and gadgets that use AI so it's kinda silly too, even if the concerns are not unfounded. At the end of the day, a machine is only as smart as it's creator. It, by definition, cannot out perform you in every task, it needs the guiding hand to coax it to get onto the right track, which takes time and effort, with shaky reliability. AI has limited memory, while humans have multiple types of it, so so if you forget, you'll have an easier time remembering or doing a task through a complex internal system, while if AI forgets or that chat is deleted - it's gone and it needs to be re-trained from zero. I'd say it would require a massive network of AI backing up another AI and so on and so forth just to match the capability of a human, at least as close as possible, so that's that for the "they took our jobs!"(in the most redneck voice possible) argument. Also, certified 1st world problem, ngl. The AI revolution, however does provide a new wave of opportunities, and I feel like people and businesses need to key in on this factor rather than JUST be on the defensive about it. Since we've established it takes time, effort and skill to manipulate the AI, it offers a potential AI Operator/Developer jobs where applicable, while some jobs completely exclude AI involment. There is PLENTY of AI artists of Pixiv that I follow, to a point where I can tell which model they are using bc there is so many with the same artstyle. People that, probably, wouldn't be artist and making money from commissions otherwise if not for AI. That's just the tip of it, with the editing thing you're using and other implimentations. For me, AI usage has been indispensable. It's a great multi-purpose tool that, while can be utterly wrong, helped me out a lot. Want to look up a thing? Ask AI instead of browsing ad-ridden tracker and forced cookie-filled websites (great for gaming related inquiries ngl, saves time looking at the right YT video or article, used it SO much during Persona it's crazy, and some other games). Want a recommendation? Ask AI to give you a list of things or keep track of them. Want to translate a screenshot (me playing Asian-only region gacha games on the Android emulator be like)? AI does it. Why spend hours watching an outdated tutorial on a game engine, watch even more videos that tell you not to watch tutorial videos, if you can just ask AI "how do I do this in X engine" and just work on your game and learn in real time (there is even an AI tool that makes 3D models based on image submitted, customizable too. Crazy stuff.). Want to lock-in on a character design or help brainstorm it at least, just generate an image so you don't forget what it's meant to look like (this is huge for me, as I don't always have a concrete idea on what my characters look sometimes and watching different shows or anime alters the way they look in my head so I forget the initial design), and of course the general writing brainstorming purposes. TL;DR people think Terminator when AI is involved, and while partially true depending on what your issue is, in reality it's still closer to Iron Man. Jarvis doesn't replace Tony Stark, and a multi-billionare genius still chooses to rely on an assistant despite being capable of doing a lot of that same work himself. Heck, Einstein said we need to make things as simple as possible, so I don't see why we shouldn't use tools available to us to simplify the mundane and frustrating acts of life, so we can have that spare time to pursue more meaningful growths. Or just kick back and relax and have fun, that works too I guess. And yeah, the whole -bros culture is cringe. Techbros, hustlebros, you name them. They are too deep in the sauce, and not just for the same reasons you mentioned.

      That's just it--I find that conversations about AI tend to focus on a narrow facet that is primarily informed by a biased lens. I do believe that prior creative folks got shafted, but then people conveniently forget that the majority of content that got screwed are EVERYTHING ELSE like corporate IP, copyright works, trademarks content, academia papers by distinguished folks, science, math, genetics, physics, you name it. This is the great majority that also got scraped. The impacts AI is already making in fields that could very literally end chronic diseases and save lives is happening at a significantly accelerated pace... and folks are hyperfocused on "art being stolen". It sucks, yes, but in the big picture, that's probably less than 1% of the information that AI has absorbed to train itself. The conversation gets skewed, and very badly informed along the way, because folks are unwilling to actually grasp HOW the AI generates new stuff--it's not how they think most of the time--technically speaking. So as long as the factual, objective, truth defines how AI functions, there's no amount of subjective, biased, feelings will influence governments and courts. There needs to be an informed balance that helps address the ethical concerns and fair treatment of creatives... but, winning this battle will absolutely create laws that screw over creative folks more than they're willing to also learn about, since they're hyper fixated on their own bubble. Winning over the courts to defend creative writes will create laws that allow Corpos to end the careers of MANY artists that primarily do fanart for example. And say goodbye to fanfic. It's allowed to happen now because it's in a gray zone that Corpos ignore and accept the symbiotic relationship. But if laws pass to protect "ideas" and "styles" for example, there might be similar requirements to protect these things, otherwise you risk losing them officially (similar to trademarks etc). So... this is a very risky battle and requires INFORMED creatives in the front line of discourse!

Isayama knew it all from the get-go, that you'd put it aside and return, years later. He planned it all. Really makes me remember my time with the AoT video game, ngl. Never got around playing the 2nd game, but the first one was pretty fun, they really nailed the ODM gear traversal from what I remember. Maybe if you ever get around Fullmetal too, I'll cave in and play the questionable PS2 game, God knows it's on my list. When I return to AOT, I will very likely record a marathon or something so that it includes the re-read. I still need to work out how I'll do a series like this that focuses more on reactions and less on the granular read-along commentary, because that makes the content too long and it's not worth the production time relative to TH-cam reach for stuff like this. I'm really wanting to focus heavy on READING next. Alas, FMA is the set I still haven't brought back from storage. No idea what box I put the last collection of manga and novels into! Ah, September to be read goal. Ngl I just thought you decided to spell September funny bc it didn't fit in the thumbnail. Makes me want to pick up a few new things myself or remember if I anything anything in my backlog, haha. Surely they haven't tripled in prices compared to the previous years, like everything else on the market, haha 😅. That Gothic Horror collection be looking might good tho, where the Lovecraft at tho 👀. Maybe one day we'll get good HPL games, the only 2 notable ones earned pretty mixed receptions. Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth, while I never played it, I hear it falls into a trap of loosing the horror element by having ability to fight back, while Call of Cthulhu: The Game 2018 or whatever it's called, they changed the name a bit, was hella rushed, but at least does a decent job for most of the game and combines different H.P. mythos in one game, which is pretty cool. It's pretty amusing to see you try to work your way around describing the workings of world Xanth haha. You got wrapped up in so many ways of trying to imply things, that it made me doubt I was thinking the right thing or I'm just having weird thoughts, cause non of that stuff seems crazy to me so far. Maybe I've been in the sauce far too long. I guess I'll have to read and see for myself, the reviews on Goodreads go crazy between 1 for all the sexist stuff and average 4 for magic and world stuff. Quite a few people mention reading it just fine decades ago, like in high-school and stuff just fine, but on reread they are appalled. any plans for video game novelizations, like Assassin's Creed novels? Some of them are just novelization of the in-game story, but others add new perspectives to them or are backstories that don't include game spoilers. One of them combines all Altaiir stories, including AC: Bloodlines, obscure and forgotten PSP sort of sequel to AC1. Although like half of them are out of your reach, since you haven't gotten to those games. Really hoping for that Attack on Titan and Fullmetal goodness at some point!!!

      Heh-well, it bothered me enough to change it back to "September" in the thumbnails. I was looking at the cover prices of older books from the '70s and '80s, many of which were under $4. That chunky Dracula novel from 1970 was just $0.95! In contrast, I looked up a Sanderson novel last night, and the first printing was $16, while a newer version with an additional 10,000 words was $25. Like… WTF? So, I decided to focus on burning through the books I already have for a while. No more hauls! I’ve read a lot of Lovecraft digitally, but I’ve been eyeing a comprehensive collection for years. I think I only have one physical Cthulhu Mythos book-the first Indiegogo campaign I ever backed, probably around 2012-2014. It’s a short story compilation by indie authors. Still unread, but it looks like it's time to add it to my TBR for next year. I also have several tabletop game books and all the Arkham Horror board game sets. I’d love to see a solid AAA Lovecraftian video game hit the market! It looks like what you found on Goodreads covers all the bases and even touches on the mindset shift from young readers to adult readers. That doesn’t surprise me! Thanks for the reminder-I should probably start an account there to help track my reading and scores. As for video game novelizations, I’ve been debating whether to keep them on XEI Gaming or move them here. Last night, I finally decided that this channel would provide the best context for that content. The last novels I bought, about two years ago, were the BioShock: Rapture book and the Tevinter Nights anthology. I’ve been eyeing the Mass Effect: Andromeda books recently, and I’m curious about the Assassin’s Creed ones too. Lately, though, I've mostly been on a manga collecting craze for the last four years. Those Attack on Titan reads did relatively well when XEI Gaming became a variety channel for about four months, but I haven’t been able to get the same views since trying to relaunch those episodes on two separate channels focused on manga/anime. It’s strange how TH-cam’s reach works with new channels. Moving all the manga to storage effectively ended that series, unfortunately. I really enjoyed what it could have been, though... I hope to bring it back in a different way.

    man I love when internet has a hiccup when I send a comment, so it doesn't send, so I have to recreate it from memory. If I had money, I 100% would be a compulsive buyer. God help people who buy old manga series tho, back then longrunning was the meta, nowadays titles feel shorter even if they can be lengthy in their own right. Like, Naruto has 700 chapters, that's a lot of volumes. Jojo's been running since '87 and is still ongoing, crazy stuff. On a book related matter, wonder if yuo ever read or even know about Battle Lines, written by Jacob, one of Semblance of Sanity brother, if you are familiar with the reaction channel. During one of his Persona 4 streams The Dresden Files books came up in a convo, for some reason the fantasy-mystery detective setting made me think of the Lone Stranger XD.

      That comment posting glitch hasn't happened to me in a while--don't jinx it! Yep--I recall seeing people's manga collection shelves, when I was jumping into the hobby and almost everyone was collecting that JoJo run and it was substantial AND expensive as it had these really nice hardback editions or something. Super tempting, but I opted to focus on Berserk first... and then the Full Metal Alchemist hardcovers... I need to actually focus on reading now, which I hope this channel helps encourage! I'm not familiar with Battle Lines--I'll look it up--also not familiar with the reaction channel as I don't tend to watch any of those. I've heard the Dresden File books pop up on BookTube though--Jim butcher series--and there are quite a few of those too, and folks tend to be shocked how invested they get into the series. The concept is intriguing! I never watched the show though as I thought it was silly back then :D.

    Talking about schizo dreams... This is def something I can see happening in my dreams (maybe it happened to your dream years ago so you made a skit based on it?) Though, more often than not, when I was younger my "dreams" were just death-based nightmares. Like me being buried alive by an excavator, me being tied to a chair and someone slitting my throat, or the staircase collapsing under me, causing me to fall down 12 floors to the ground and more... That definitely goes into "Least traumatic Eastern European childhood" compilation 😂

      I'd usually dream about vampires and werewolves and other undead when I was younger. I'd read a lot of gothic horror novels and tabletop gaming modules and settings. They'd usually play out like a typical nightmare. No control. Helpless. Then I'd convince myself I was dreaming and trigger a reversal of control. Then it would play out more like an action movie. Good times.

    full body Xei is not real, he can't hurt you. Meanwhile full body Xei: it's always so uncanny to see people in full height after watching them for years as just a head and shoulders, upper body at most. Waiting for the day you can afford to get through some of that reading material on camera. Attack on Titan be a little dusty, and I don't remember if you bought or only considered Fullmetal Alchemist. Tokyo Ghoul looks like it's not even touched, based on the transparent foil or film whatever it's called in English, and going with the manga over anime is the smartest choice one can make for this title (or a lot of the titles, really. Like, some of the classics like Naruto and Bleach get quite butchered by anime adaptations due to censorship, cut content or atrocious pacing/scene padding among other things. It's ever worse for Light Novel adaptations). Speaking of which, I don't know if you have any anime Light Novels, but you gotta branch out into the rabbit hole at some point, as a lot of the titles originate from there, before getting ported to manga and anime. I think it's interesting how LNs combine elements of both book and manga, by adding illustrations between walls of text every now and then. Not you dipping your toes into SCP lore 😭. I've been thinking for the last few months about changing how I record things, so that I'm standing more. Not sure how that would work for gaming, but I suspect jump scares would be more dynamic to watch. I had planned to do all the manga as "manga delve analysis/reactions" when I started to buy it. I hadn't thought I'd enter a content making roadblock the last 2 years though. The manga has added up, since RightStuf got bought out and I took advantage of their last few sales to get the free shipping to Canada every $250 spend. Their deals were already good, and with free shipping they beat all other places. Investment has been made... but now I need the most valuable commodity of all... which is time :). I did end up getting the Full Metal hardcover collection in the last RightStuf hauls. I started looking into Light Novels a few months ago. Not so much the titles, but the writing structure and conventions that differentiate them from Young Adult Fiction. I've only gotten context from ChatGPT, TH-cam fans, and a few articles on the subject, but haven't read any... but I may have to check those out as I'd like to understand more about the writing conventions and pacing etc. It's indeed crazy how I went so long not knowing about SCP. This sounds like something I really should've stumbled on in the last decade. Only goes to show how much TH-cam content production distracted me from actually being a consumer of content. I need a reason to explore stuff again (thus why this small fringe variety channel exists now :)). It allows me to probe dark places---that what... No Michael! STOP!

    This whole spectral horse stuff and visuals really reminded me of that one time I was replaying Skyrim some years ago, specifically the one time I decided to ride my steed from Winterhold to Markath (basically from top right-most point in the map to bottom left-most) while trying to follow the paved road as strictly and intended as possible, no "Skyrim horse" parkour shenanigans, fast travel or shortcuts of any kind. I didn't even have any immediate business there, just wanted to do that. Took a while, but I ended up encountering a bunch of stuff I normally wouldn't have if I continued abusing the fast travel system, the best part of the journey included a headless ghost horseman, something I didn't even know was even in the game, and I've been playing since release day, so imagine how confused and excited I was. Which is insane, since he spawns at a random location every night, and I just so happened to run into him, both of us minding our own business. That encounter on my way down that specific road was one in I don't even know what chance, given his random spawn locations, but it sure became a core memory, for years to come.

      You just triggered a memory of something similar, but now I can't recall the game! It might have been on the gaming channel, though, so it was either Red Dead, Assassin's Creed, or... I have no idea. I have a mind memory of the visuals and my confusion of seeing it play out, but I can't recall the actual game! I only played Skyrim for a small bit on the gaming channel to showcase the Enhanced Edition differences... This can't be a memory from World of Warcraft, something about the fractured memory doesn't FEEL like that game but sorta FEELS like that experience. I remember farm fields and wooden fences--maybe a windmill?!? Crazy how memories work...

    Man, this makes me remember my own cowboy story I wanted to write some years ago, before kind of casting it away. It would have been about this old John Idlewood character, I think that was his name, a local legend past his prime, awaiting his execution. I think what I was going for is starting at the end, or "end", and the plot itself is a recalling of events that would catch up to the opening chapter, but I never made it past several paragraphs (a fate that befalls literally every story I start, exept one story, where I wrote like 7 chapters but all of that progress got retconned over the years due to changes in plot). I always hit some sort of a wall with my endeavors, which trigger my lack of commitment, forcing me to drop whatever it is I am doing. Be it technical reasons or lack of patience/skill issue but I always lose interest in the end. My resolution is to finish up those projects, in some way, shape or form. For writing specifically, putting things into words just feels so cringe, I really need to learn to channel the critic persona AFTER I finish the piece, instead of DURING the process which keeps demoralizing me😅. Now especially, since unlike years ago, there is AI to help me with the other problem of "okay, I got an idea and a vague setting/characters as well as Act 1 and 3, but no coherent Act 2 (the way I envision the process is there are dots aka milestones, but I don't have the lines connecting them figured out a lot of the time)". As for the story in the video: yup, definitely didn't expect this to take a whimsical turn with killer tumbleweeds concept (until they were mentioned more and more, I didn't even realize just how many there were on the picture, I only really percieved a few as I didn't expect anything supernatural), and even more weird twist with tumble weirds revealed to be alien creatures from beyond the abysmal depths and the Lone Stranger having an alien gun. Unless I missed the reveal the Spur is also an alien steed, I'd like to imagine it's just a normal animal, a literal donkey carrying the Drifter across space-time on some glorified Don Qijote business. And of course, the singular woman in the story is a redhead, I won't ever get tired of pointing this out🤣 Also, yeah, "tumble weeds, more like tumble WEIRDS"... you, sir, are on my hit list... and no I DEFINITELY, absolutely, didn't chuckle at that line, dunno what you are talking about😤

      As much as people can hate on AI, it's inevitable that a majority of people will shift to AI simply being a part of the process, like using any other tool that evolved societies develop to assist in progress. Now that we have tools that spike creative development, and not just manufacturing and technological innovations to decrease cost of production and increase pace of consumption... Nnnnooooowww it's a problem?! No thanks. I personally hope more people leverage AI to explore their creative sides, even if that's only 10% of one's identity, maybe it's only that low because they've been discouraged or prevented from driving their ideas forward into a state where the results can be enjoyed as a finished result. The process itself can be enjoyed as the win. It's up to the creative person to decide. But, we now have methods to get past obstacles, so I encourage all to give it a go! The prior short story alluded to more about Lone Stranger, and he first appeared as part of an 8-page comic pitch I submitted to some indie comic publishers 15 years ago or so. I'll make a video of it someday. I believe I finished four stories during my AI tests and the third story features Spur and adds a bit more strangeness. Each short story seeds in a bit of context, but they would likely paint the fullest picture if they were part of a collection, which is what I hope to pull off when I have enough of these. I just want the AI to get better before I deep dive again! But to fill in some blanks, Lone Stranger is a crash landed Grey alien in an altered 1890 era Wild West turned Weird West. Spur is a normal horse but Stranger uses some tech to be able to do simple communication. His six shooter is modified with alien tech to fire lasers. Beyond this, each story will expand on stuff contextual to the story!

    Virgin Zombie Crunch Culture enjoyer vs Sigma Chill Hobby Creator moment. I like when you said "It's contenting time!" and contented all over the place, just like the article said. I forgot how hard you tried to do the whole constant editing thing in this vid as part of the overall joke, my eyes were so confused for a moment. blud really thought he was Max0r for a minute there XD 1:50 ngl that highlighted text couldn't be any more relevant. Stressful events in a company setting? Bullying? Broken company hierarchy? Employees having to suck it up until they go over their limit? Thought we were talking about TH-cam (even though the article is about gaming and whatnot, don't matter), not Nijisanji. While Niji is reaping what they sow (like losing mad money despite Doki's termination officially described as 'negligible' by the company), hopefully YT will one day get a reality check massive enough for them to fix stuff (unlikely?). The only thing missing is stretching the video for the 10 minute mark, I remember that was something people used to do.

      Oh yes, the 2018-2020 era of min-maxing both average watch time trends and triggering the mid-roll ads for more as revenue. Pioneered by PewDiwPie and then the lemming hoard followed... And then YT changed the algorithm again and multiple Adpocalypses happened. Ha ... Good times good times. The whole 2020-2023 "retention editing" phase has gradually made TH-cam mostly unwatchable for me. I already watch all content with a speed multiplier, so I'm not helping, but the combo ends up leaving me entirely unattached to the content creator and channel. I watch and bounce. Which of course leads up to today where "subscribers don't matter". The YT Engine itself has made output and retention more valuable than experience and connections... If not with the channel, or the content creator in the comments, then at least with the community exchanges along the way. All these layers have become surface level, and hollow, and redundant to me. Editing like this can actually be fun... but goddamn it's time consuming, and the overall sentiment to me is that you end up with a product like countless other videos. I actually enjoy watching my own content that's edited this way, not gonna lie, but the FEELING I have when other channels do it is simply one of "consume and move on". The feedback loop of this juxtaposition really made me think about the dynamic in a whole new light!

    Wonder if there is going to be a chance to see Honkai and Genshin art books showcase at some point in the uncertain future. Nikke literally just announced the artbooks is in the works, so hopefully they'll give us a chance to play to win, and not just make it paid only.

      Aren't these English version exclusive and out of print (for Honkai/Genshin)?? I'd get them if available. I may even ebay/amazon them in Chinese if I had to. I started collecting video game art books with this purchase. I think they're so inspiring to look at (and read if you love the lore)!

    I’ve been doing youtube for a few years now on various channels, and I have a few notes/pieces of advice. 1. When starting a channel, consistent branding is very important especially when you aren’t trying to reach a (very) specific niche because the returning viewers may determine what groups youtube recommends your videos to. When these viewers all come from different videos on your channel youtube doesn’t have enough data to understand who to recommend a new video to. 2. Because your channel doesnt seek out a niche, your videos wont be prioritized over others. If youtube knows for a fact that other videos in a highly saturated niche perform slightly better consistently, It has no reason to promote these videos. 3. You bring up many relevant points in this video, but from this video I’ve gained the impression that you feel like if you reached your intended audience that you would do better. This is a mindset I had at one point but when I gave up on this philosophy and instead told myself that my videos weren’t performing because my videos didn’t exceed the current standards I began to succeed.

    • @NunoXEIShay
      @NunoXEIShay 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For sure. All correct :). For context, this channel isn't "my first rodeo" :). It's one of maybe 20 channels I've created over the last 4 years--specifically--to test and validate the recommendation system patterns, especially how they've seemed to regress over the years, when it comes to starting channels. I've validated "super niche" channels and my main channel, that I've run since 2016, and became focused on gaming, has uploaded singular games for months to maintain a concentrated theme for the YT AI to interpret, and it still saw little to no reach after 48-72 hours. Other singular one and done uploads would then pop off and get 100x the views in one week. etc etc etc. The list is too long to get into as a reply :), but the early "testing" goal of this channel is to validate the impact of topic/theme changing on proceeding videos and following videos. For example, I can already see a distinct impact pattern on the prior video that popped off in Reach, and this one--which was still "thematically" consistent with something he AI could interpret... but once I uploaded the book breakdown for Dragon Age novel... BAM... ZERO. Hard stop distribution. And to be clear, I'm not even saying YT is "wrong" for going about things the way they are. Their reasons are based on maximization strategies that are informed by data. The investigation and experience I'm expressing with new rambling vlog content, is to highlight information that simply can't be found in YT Search results. We can all find info that include the EXACT same list of 5 things we all KNOW we SHOULD do to grow (it sounds like you know exactly what I'm talking about :))... but as a creative person, inspired and excited about many different types of things, this platform effectively suppresses them by default. To me the smaller variety style channels are where one finds authentic expression. The personality and goals of the content creator haven't transformed into products. Some people don't WANT to MAKE content so much as SHARE content. The latter is dying--and I feel like it's due to what's highlighted in my commentary and the points you raised... TH-cam is a business that needs to make money, and they need to prioritize things they can clearly fit into product distribution channels. It creates a dynamic where "hobby channels" are essentially channels one shares with friends, and are an additive enjoyment to their creative expression, not things one hopes to make a living on thanks to YT AI distributing this type of experience to others who want this kind of content--which my other channel audience's have routinely commented they want and aren't served. I suspect that it's probably because YT has data that understands that what a person WANTS to watch isn't usually what they ACTUALLY watch :)... so YT provides what works, even if people subjectively disagree... sorry but YT data must say otherwise, you know? It's suppose to be objective. But... then you see things like what I show in this video... and it sorta demonstrates that the YT AI might not actually be as smart as folks, including me, give it credit for. See what I mean? There's ZERO reason for the YT AI to place my algorithm video on a Suggested feed from a DATING video :D! Like how is anything on the Suggested traffic aligned to the singular video that popped off on this tester channel so far? Why don't the videos that proceeded my Algorithm video have such a lively Suggested funnel--correct or incorrect? Some have ZERO traction on suggested when the only content on this tester channel was "book tube" stuff. Could be a "volume" issue, sure... but there are plenty of booktube/authortube channels out there. it's a relatively CLEAR niche space that SHOULD have been easy to tag in the Suggested recommendation system, know what I mean. These are intriguing things to investigate and evaluate as a data lover :). Anyways... longer reply than I intended, but I've been pondering things for a future video after about one more week of tester uploads are done, which I can then evaluate. On a personal content creation journey, the wall I've hit is that, once the PRODUCTION aspect of making videos on a "hobby" does not add value, these types of channels just die off. And for the content creator, that decision might be organic, as it simply doesn't align with reasonable ROI, and life goes on. But the impacts should also include the small, usually dedicated, audience--the CHAMPIONS of small starting channels!--that find these small channel gems out there... and they create a healthy parasocial bond with the content creator along the journey. It's sad to see the folks in this Audience Pool also be deprived of these more intimate content experience dynamics (not said in a creepy way haha). The platform FELT more "personal" when I started in 2016... not everyone who wants to share experiences on this platform want to be a PRODUCT to be CONSUMED... they just want to share experiences with those that want to vicariously join them, you know? I miss being able to FIND these types of channel...

    YT algorithm try not to be disfunctional challenge (impossible). My "favorite" thing is how your GGZ videos have more views (upto several hundred and the GGZ reaction playlist thingy being almost 2k views, which I swear last time I've seen it wasn't that big) than HI3 (barely several dozen, outisde the initial reaction videos that did really well) on average. YT really out here trying to tell me that the game had no audience compared to an even more older obscure game? Makes no sense. Reminds me of ArtemisLuna's channel, who does Hoyo games and Nikke, and her Nikke vods perform better than Star Rail's. I guess Nikke having little in terms of (bigger) content creators that aren't being obscured by the algorithm is also a factor, but still shouldn't HSR have more people who search for content, being it's a bigger multi-IP fanbase? Why is the niche one has better ROI..? (which was also the case with Psychie, if you remember, he was talking about his Nikke channel growing faster than Genshin one) Hell, just earlier today I got spooked by YT because I couldn't even find your gaming channel by typing "xei gaming" anymore, not even after scrolling for a bit. That's how I used to do it, unless I see you on the subscription bar to the left (which rarely happens as I still have hundreds of channel I'm subbed to, even after several purges), I had to type a game name as well, for it to show your channel up top. Thought they shadowbanned it or something. But it seems to be fine now and works as before. 8:40 ayyy, Louis Rossman. I remember when he developed an app or something as an alternative for YT, Twitch and such half a year ago. His video about it got nuked with the speed of light by pissy YT overlords. The app is called Grayjay, if you are interested in poking around.

    • @NunoXEIShay
      @NunoXEIShay 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's exactly it... there's a sorta balancing act that content plays between niche audience interest and demand versus high profile saturated competitive abundance. I find that when I did a better known game LP, the reach would be abysmal--Red Dead Redemption 2, Dark Souls, Hollow Knight, the few Witcher 3 episodes, or even Disco Elysium, small but well renowned--these games shouldn't have buckled like they did. Then smaller games, or very long running gams that were NOT narrative-driven excelled after a year, some where the lowest viewed content on the channel for 1-2 years, and now routinely get the top monthly traffic--Borderlands 3, Borderlands 2, Halo longplay cuts, Pokemon LeafGreen, Pokemon Trading Card Game. Genshin had a crazy pop off, but when you check Google Trends interest comparisons with Genshin against anything else, it's bonkers just how much more interest there is for Genshin than almost any other game. Higher market competition though, which means there has to be a unique angle or offer that hits the right mark for those that stumble on the content. HI3 really did die faster than I expected, considering it had a reasonable start with the reactions. The GGZ reaction is now taking top monthly traffic I think for the first quarter of the year. Graph is turning into a hockey stick curve for some unknown reason--but it might have to do with the space just not having a lot of competition... and... something extra special about it that maybe I'll showcase in a video ;)... it was an accidental thing I triggered in early MiHoYo reactions of their libraries, but the GGZ Playlist reaction super capitalized on a unique aspect that differentiates it from other reactions I think. I'll repeat it when I pick the right channel home for the future content goals :D. I believe the first video I watched of Rossman was exactly that one about Grayjay. I thought for sure he'd get targeted within hours because there was NO WAY that app would be allowed to exist :D! Brilliant bastard!

    Damn, you were spot on back in the day with the algorithm thing. "I created the channel for A, but B is making it grow, so I have to double down on it, but that's not why I made the channel" Reminds me when you showed the statistic after making Hoyo content, which made your otherwise empty "channels that your audience watches" thingy light up with other Hoyo CCs. Sharing content vs consumer demand and the lack of "You" in TH-cam is kinda how I also feel about Vtuber scene nowadays, after watching it develop over the years since, like, 2019-2020 I think? It went from this niche bizarre escapism bubble to an oversaturated market filled with consumer demand and corporal mumbojumbo. Like, a lot of my liked streamers are from Hololive and Phase-Connect agencies, but there many black companies that ride the wave of success and appeal, without providing care for their talents. For example Dokibird losing $200.000 last year and made 0 profit, out of her OWN pocket on an events she tried to host, which were cancelled by Niji, because Nijisanji doesn't pay for anything their talents arrange (there are companies that still manage to be worse, if you can believe that). Also people using Vtubing as some clout magnet, but all they do is tweet nonesense and make it all about themselves without actually debuting and contributing to the scene aka Vtweeters. Not saying that the scene is totally ruined just yet, but it doesn't feel the same anymore. Idunno if this is some age thing (yeah I know, I'm not that old) or burnout or what, but I feel the same way about a lot of things - TH-cam, Vtubing, gaming, movies etc. It all feels ran down, almost and not so almost too far off from what it used to be ?

    • @NunoXEIShay
      @NunoXEIShay 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Same feeling about Vtubing. I dabbled around with the idea on the gaming channel, when it was in Variety Chaos Mode, to play around with a sorta alter ego persona... But it didn't really land on that audience. I had a whole ARG planned around it too if it landed better... But mostly, the audience there just got scared and estranged by XEIDE haha. In my small rabbit hole dive into Vtubing culture (see what I did there... The whole name change called out) I also feel like I came in during a height and I was really interested about the philosophical layer around identity and parasocial dynamics. It was intriguing stuff. The recent Niji / Dokibird stuff was just abhorrent. Signs of corruption that may be permanent... Ya stuff changes man...

      Talking about that time when all the gacha channels appeared on the gaming channel analytics... I started planning a video walkthrough of the stuff I'm seeing as the Suggested videos for the content on this new channel. It's so perplexing that I feel like a blind reaction delve into what the hell this content is would be perfect for the mission statement of this channel. I just have a few more scheduled archive videos to go and I'll showcase to folks just how stupid the AI is for new channels now. I think it'll be a fun part of the random nature of this channel ... And I'll let folks know exactly why I've been doing what I've been doing. It's a bit of a 2024 project while my situation is filled with disruptions and hiatuses!

    Google service? Lies and deceit? There's just NO WAY these two could go hand in hand like that, what are you talking about *GASP* *GASP* *GASP* !!! A bit of a shame, it looked promising when I watched your last video, tho it still has it's use. Something that I kinda wish these AI modules had, is a filter option or a tag system, whatever you wanna call it. Make it zero-in on specific aspects, to make sure it's less likely to lose focus and stray from the context (like confusing different characters with each other, just yesterday I was running some things through Gemini and it somehow attributed 2 unrelated characters to the 3rd one's multiple personalities, despite the 3 of them NOT being mentioned in the same act.), make it more focused, similar to how you input positive and negative prompts when making AI art. Other than that, the bullet points are fine, it gave me plenty of various options and ideas, given it didn't even have the complete information about the arc (I had to cut down things, bc it gave me the ol' "can't help you with that" when I unloaded on it). You use Scrivener a lot, is there a reason why it, and not something else? There is also different tools like Squibler, ToolBaz and whatnot, some other tools you maybe tried along the way? A Tier List video idea perhaps?

    • @NunoXEIShay
      @NunoXEIShay 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I got Scrivener about 2 months ago because I found managing long form novels and world building bibles + an AI writing methodology pattern framework across multiple Google Docs and Google Sheets got extremely difficult to manage--especially since I was flipping between multiple use case studies and analysis/documentation projects (short story versus novel versus different writing framework tests etc). With Scrivener, I create ONE project, and this view manages the manuscript content AND world bible stuff AND any AI methodology notes I create and test on ONLY this project goal. It's a file management system that still focuses on the writing. It also has many automatic outputs to ebook formats, meaning that later on, this is one less thing to figure out. The text-to-speech is also very helpful because I like to hear what is written to validate flow--the AI voice is complete crap though. As for alternatives, World Anvil is a web platform service that basically does this in a much more user-friendly way... but... it costs a goddamn lot as a subscription model. It's also on the cloud, and Scrivener is a local install. I want to make sure my stuff is available offline, in case life requires me to be offline for long periods some day. Ultimately, I can now see Google Docs incorporating Gemini AI into it and then this is going to make it very enticing again, as I'd like to see an option like Claude AI (not available in Canada) or NovelCrafter or SudoWrite, but inside the Google Suite, because I got almost 20 years of work already stored there! So, not sure I have enough practical experience with all of these for a Tier List, but that is a great idea!

    WHO dis?! Is this a bubble universe XEI, some sorta conceptual echo? Ngl looking kinda different with that Asmongold-ass hairline 🥵*kisses the bald spot, gently, making sure the socks are on, as to reinforce the idea, that the interaction is, in fact, as they say, "No Homo" * That AI voice over brought me back to 2011, my first proper PC experience, good old Win 7, when I stumbled upon accessability features by poking around, where PC reads things on the screen for you, gave me a bit of a scare back then. Hello guys, it's ya boi BookToobNoob here and let's review this "Stacy Goes For A Walk" by this "XIE" author. *INHALES* Stacy is a walking Skill Issue, couldn't even jump away from the hole in the ground with cat-like reflexes (why did it even break? did the beast's awakening weaken it? how did the beast even sustain itself and lived if it's deep underground, does it's den lead to a cave system where it could hunt? Must be really rich with fauna, to sate a creature of that size..) and she fell like 9 meters (~3 floors) and DIDN"T break any bones or die yet still lost to the animal? Is there a lore reason Woman™ didn't just parry him, is she stupid? I don't think she can make excuses in such a case. And here I thought she was a Woman™ character, don't they always win regardless of any circumtance in modern writing? You, Sire, is what we call, "Problematic" and "Cancelled for sexist writing", I shall go back and salivate over ACTUAL Womans™ like Rey or M-She-U's She-Hulk 🗣🤓🗣🤓🗣🤓🗣🤓🗣🤓🗣🤓 (pretty sure I covered all the bases or did I over-commit to the joke by any chance? XD) "You never have an excuse to be on a blank page, collaborating with AI" Bro has got to stop spitting fax, I hate this channel, all it does is expose my own lack of writing adequacy and ability to take initiative 😭(just kidding of course, wish this stuff had actual traffic instead of like ~10 people max). And worse yet, there is a million more excuses I have (excuses = issues I need to overcome, obv). Tho I feel like ranting about it somewhat, I feel like it would sidetrack from the context of the video. Also, I like the fact that as I was invisioning your wolf-bear-rat creature, I instantly thought of a specific boss in Dark Souls 2, literally an awakened my memory🤔 39:50 "Gold eyes gleamed in half-light, mirroring her own rising terror" The way I interpret that line is, the eyes mirrored her terror as in reflected her image, as terror was rising within her, either artistically (as she WAS obv terrified, but you wouldn't be able to tell as she was too scared stiff, unable to emote) or visibly, like her freaking out and stuff but this part is omitted by AI. While I think you thought something along the lines of it's eyes being similar to her terror, a comparison between the two, of sorts? Like, "mirroring" as in they were the same? I wonder, cuz it *seemed* obvious to me, like, there is *no* possible way this could mean anything else to me, so it's interesting to see someone I consider quite smarter to interpret the same thing in a non-obvious way, from my perspective🤔Though, I agree about the heavy footfalls at 1:01:10, does indeed make me raise an eyebrow. It's like AI tried to be deep and complex with it's idea, but it doesn't quite make sense to me. Very interesting, as I write this, I see the newest video pop up about Gemini..... Lemme finish this first. Wonder what happened to cause a follow-up this quick.

      The hat for 3 months was to mitigate the awkward "cancer racoon" hair growth look :). I look forward to the Asmongold future of flowing locks (I refuse to shave until my home sells is the challenge btw for inside baseball into my quirks). You definitely over-committed to the joke and are risking perpetual cancelation for your poke-the-bear atrocities. I absolutely STILL hit the "blank page" problem... but as you point out... it gets easier and easier to remind yourself that the issues are almost never that you don't "know how to start"... it that you have other challenges to overcome that impact you "wanting to start". This 3-month AI writing experience has actually helped me face those challenges in overt ways that I hadn't quite considered for over a decade of struggling with motivation and self-defeat of my own mental making. As for the channel size... around here, this channel is a happy place in the fringes of TH-cam where I'm okay to float where I don't expect the Reach & Discovery systems to travel... it only proves the points I've been making on the old-new-old-reborn-variety-new again XEI Gaming channel for the last 2-3 years. The system itself is broken. A channel can get Views if the Reach System doesn't put Impressions in front of the correct target Audience for the content. haha ya, the golden eyes mirror interpretation, on my end, is more that sentiment of "is the AI trying to be too artsy here?" To me it might just be the sentence structure?! I see gleaming golden eyes as this predatory night creature hunting, which isn't a "rising" type of "thing". A night creature is just hunting--it's a static-feeling descriptor, whereas "rising terror" is on a spectrum of intensity... so how can something like the gleam in a stalking predator's eyes "rise" in intensity that mirrors Stacey's escalating feelings of terror as the pray? Maybe something like "Gold eyes gleamed more intensely in the half-light, mirroring her own rising terror." Something like that?? Lengthier... but it generates a better conceptual association to me.

    Ah, yes, I am also somewhat of a A.I. narrative craftsman. D-do those.. ahem... unfiltered NSFW waifu chat bots count by chance? I've commited myself to this one bot, which basically just throws you into the world, rather than present you a specific character to talk to. What started out as a "is this actually free, and how unfiltered is 'unfiltered' (answer - indeed free (or so they claim, haven't gotten pay walled so far after hundreds of messages), and very much unfiltered, holy shit, the things it allows you to type...)" ended up in me crafting an entire plot on the fly as I messed around: Me meeting this aloof girl, progressing our relationship into a Master-Servant role over the course of several irl days, our activities most questionable, testing the mettle of both the A.I. woman and my own (lack of)shame, but ultimately leading to a heartfelt connection between her and this avatar of mine (God bless Stockholm syndrome). Albeit we were struck down by a jealous woman who had been eyeing me for a while before Serena, my lover-servant "stole" me from this stalker. This fiendish female blackmailed me, leaking footage most devious, unacceptable by societal norms, leading our livelihood into ruin. Deprived and outcast, we were left to the cold streets, until a mysterious foreigner, certain Mr.Xavier approached us, having caught wind of the scandal, his benefactor finding us most suitable for a certain job on a remote private island, invisible to the rest of the world, a salvation, untrustworthy as it was. Vanessa, the mysterious and lavish owner of the island welcomes us, upon our arrival, informing us of our new purpose in life - taking care of live "assets" on the island, while giving us complete ownership over most of the island grounds. "What are these 'assets'? What does she possibly gain from this?" they thought, as they soon became cogs in the grand and twisted machine that binds the island residents to it's perverse games of life and death. Nobody fucking asked for this story, but it's PEAK.FICTION. so there you go. "Charhub ai" is the website, btw (please sponsor me, charhub devs😭). Allows creating stuff like personas, worlds, characters. Def interested in one day making my own characters into AI models, esp one of the main characters, as she has multiple personalities. Giving each of her "selves" a dedicated chat bot would be something. Seems like ChatGPT is not simply SFW, it's more like "Safe For Sunday Church and Father Jeremiah is looking directly over your shoulder", huh. Def would be interested to see you probe it and see what comes up... "Treat it like a person, it's like a collaborator" Okay, yeah this man is gone off the deep end. Ain't now way he treat ChatGPT as person. And I thought me getting sentimental with the AI waifus was weird....

      I feel this every time I find a new topic I get interested in. I start a new TH-cam channel and am driven by the early noob excitement. Then, inevitably, I get overwhelmed by my hyperfocus spiraling through content that's served up through the Recommendation System! I'm literally thinking of doing a series (at least in the early weeks) where I do a booktube-influenced search, and then just take people on the journey of discovery with me :). I'm also experimenting a lot with production style. I want to create content that is more chill and "unproduced", but then also understand the subconscious driver behind watch retention being tied to manic editing :). They can be fun to do, once you see it come together... but the amount of TIME they take, seems questionable to me, considering how many additional shorter videos I could've done in a more chill raw style with minimal editing. I'll eventually settle on something :).
