    I pretty much have a similar star rating definitions(imagine coming up with your own terms for each star only to find out Goodread already labels them. That's be silly, haha, who's make such a mistake....). In terms of finer details, it's not as robust as your graph and I simply can't pay attention to all of these critique points while I'm immersed in the story so it's a bit of a mix of how much I enjoyed it and actual content of the volume😅. So it's kinda makes the rating process flexible and inconsistent between different works. When I read Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga I rate them with a Fujimoto standard in mind as an additional variable, for example. If I were to get into Junji Ito, I'd certainly judge all his works based on the ones I read before from him. Which kinda puts manga from authors I never read before into a peculiar spot. There'd be no bias, but because there is no bias I might be more harsh on them (which is where 3/5 for TG vol1 comes in, while it's overwhelmingly rated 4 and 5 XD. But maybe people just rated it retroactively, as a whole IP. And where 5/5 for Fire Punch comes in, 3 times in a row so far, let's see if Vol 4 breaks the streak. I mean seriously, the pure kino has to plateu or even dip at SOME point). While on the topic, rating the collection of one-shots was certainly interesting compared to a proper manga, I really had to think there, but unfortunately, Fujimoto bias is crazy with me. Heh, why am I not surprised you find the time flipping jarring XD I remember you saying the same about perspective flipping in HI3. Funnily enough that is also a critique Fujimoto recieved for his earliest published one-shot. interesting patterns. FYI, to let you in on the process of making manga I'm gonna rip this from a post: "The volume covers are *usually* contracted out to a design company, while the mangaka provides the key art. Manga is not made by a single person. It's authored and penned by the mangaka, while there's assistants that do inking, lettering, screentones, and all the rest of the tasks". while this is a norm, there are of course mangakas that do more work by themselves. Isayama has 4 assistants that take care of minute details, the clean up crew if you will. But yeah, the art on a macro scale is all him. and of course there's editor to whom he submits the script and drafts, this is the same for pretty much every mangaka. bro is absolutely cooked with the cover critique tho. okay, I'll say, not all covers are great, but I don't really care cuz I don't have a degree😝. does make me wonder what you'd think about CSM and Fire Punch covers. and I can only imagine what Tokyo Ghoul volume ratings would be cuz you were drooling over the covers. mans is gonna rate them all 5/5 based on covers alone... I hear you when it comes to Eren's character critique, a lot of people call him 1-dimensional or that he doesn't really change throughout the 1st season. Pretty ironic how for a very aggressive and passionate character, he is a reactive force most of the time, dragged along by the plot and other characters. The only times he took agency and was proactive was with kid Mikasa, despite Grisha's orders to wait for him while he fetches the police, which installed into her an entire worldview that revolves around him, and when he rallied people in the cafeteria, was it? People took note of him, Jean at another point admitted to Eren that they all count on him. Boy has charisma and the guts to lead and gravitate people towards him, if and when he applies himself, his biggest weaknesses being lack of control and lack of confidence when he is pushed. When it comes to you further talking about character development and stuff, trying to be as unbiased as possible, I'd say what AOT does (so far) is characterization, rather than development, if I'm using the term correctly. I'd consider very-very few people (like, single digits, only need one hand to count) to have actually gotten development.

      My memory of the Tokyo Ghoul boxset unboxing from... when was that?!?... 2019? 2020?... I most definitely was drooling the whole time. I'm near certain the covers alone would be 5/5 by great majority and even "stellar" 6s would be in there. As for whether the interior art and compositions and panel/page control etc ensure those high ratings, I have no idea. I don't actually recall anything about the interior pages at this point, but I've never forgotten the name Sui Ishida either. The art on those covers are probably the best commercial art I've seen in many years, to be honest. Each could have been a poster or canvas on a wall! That's it. Kid Eren was all high-strung and loud and indifferently confident in what he believed. It was too high octane, maybe, and so that level of "fire" sorta highlights just how passive and self-conscious and obediently timid he comes off. It kinda goes in reverse with his personality development. It can be said, he was impacted by the attack and loss of his mother--certainly--but at the same time, I'd expect that to BE the character development we GET along the journey. There's no SUBSTANCE behind his place in the story because we rarely gat anything complex expressed by him, except the same 1-3 thematic ideas. Mikasa is in the same boat, but she's at least got kick ass action moments and some subtle emotional reactions that carry weight to her possible development. It would be nice to HEAR her thoughts overtly though. There's too much dedication to her being the silent warrior type to the point that it is damaging her value to the broader story depth. Just my opinion of course :). I see a lot of the characters as "archetypes" that fit a role and purpose, but then stay "single-note" for too long. Except Braun. He had a solid development since the beginning!

    I heavily enjoyed this! Guess i really like the breakdowns of how and why one would score the way that they do, or think. I think it's one of the big reasons i enjoy your content because it's different to everyone else in the way that you think things through and talk about them. It's fun seeing different outlooks and thoughts on things one enjoys, so thank you. If you do the next 4 volumes as well, it will work out quite nicely.

This AOT vlog series will be all over the place but it keeps things amusing for me on the production side, that's for sure! Eventually something will just feel right and repeatable. That's my hope 😂!!

The moment I heard Chainsaw- that activated every neuron in my brain *insert that one "aruuu?" Scooby-Doo noise where he tilts his head*... don't you dare scare me like that. Especially since I've low-key forsaken Tokyo Ghoul in favor of Fire Punch for now, AND they animated one of mangaka;s later one-shots recently ("Look Back", haven't read it yet tho), and CSM gets an animated movie in 2025, it's all about Fujimoto's works right now.

      I wonder if Tokyo Ghoul would at least be easier to do blind read vlogs for? It feels like it might be less dense. Same with Demon Slayer. Whereas My Hero Academia felt like it would continue to be overtly overwhelming due to the massive character roster. I may have accidentally stumbled on the detail that throttles production fluidity!

    Welcome back, funny man. nobody asked, but I managed to catch up on ~10 CSM chapters I was behind and I wish I hadn't, it's literally *PEAK*, we are so back after all the doom-posting and "Part 2 is so ass omg", and now I have to wait bc the latest one released 4 days ago noooooo, I need more 😭. really considering starting Fire Punch in mean time, cuz I need that Fujimoto crazy juice in me (no homo, unless?). finished Vol. 1 of Tokyo Ghoul (never mind that it took me 4 days, I wasn't THAT engaged apparantly???) and posted my first ever "review" on Goodreads 😳. Feeling a bit awkward since majority of votes are higher than what I gave it, but I stand by my critique (not that I ever pointed out what I didn't like to begin with, I'm figuring this thing out as I go lmao. maybe I'll just stick to giving stars and not go into the whole writing segment, idunno). story needs to pop off is all I'm saying, give me the SAUCE. so yeah, I didn't really achieve as much as I wish I had this week, but I still hope to at least get to the spoiler part that I am aware off, before I age too much, I'm already a decade too late to get on that edgy teen energy 😆.

    And so ends the Female Titan arc. In the anime it is split into 2 arcs: The 57th Exterior Scouting Mission arc and Assault on Stohess arc. The MP recruits like Marlowe and Hitch being kept in the dark, the Survey Corps being kept in the dark by the Wallists and the 104th trainees being kept in the dark as well. Minister Nick is at least a good look into the Wall Religion with his own sad woes, and Hange being mad for the first time since she’s been introduced. Eren questioned how she could be so happy around titans, so I like seeing her get mad about the sacrifices the Survey Corps has made as well. It’s good seeing Jean, Armin and Mikasa looking over Eren while he rests. Armin’s funny/unfunny jokes as Jean calls it. Jean still wants to talk to Mikasa, RIP him. Mikasa stays behind to watch over Eren. Erwin at the assembly had to talk his way out of civilian casualties and collateral damage this time around. The only reason they did it this way is 1: Annie has her military branch in Stohess and 2: They had to hand over Eren to the MPs. So they devised a plan to show some results, at any cost. The many over the few. At least he has his eyes now on the rest of the energy hiding inside the walls as he puts it. Then Thomas comes in, talking about the breaching of Wall Rose, which happened 12 hours earlier, before the plan to ambush Annie even begins to happen. Makes you wonder what’s happening now. Miche’s Squad is overlooking the 104th for any other possible titans conspiring with Annie. Connie and Sasha are bored and talk about their hometowns, which is nice to know more of their background. Reiner is ready to help Connie escape since he’s suspicious of everything that’s going on, helpful and dependable as always. Sasha with her superhuman hearing and Miche with his superhuman sniffing. It's time to start the next fun time: Wall Rose being breached. Yay! I am ready to talk a bit more when we get to the anime part of this. You do you and enjoy the art as well. It's one of the fun things about Manga. I concur with Yaori about it being really fun seeing you react blind to the next couple of volumes, though i would enjoy seeing you reading all of it blind, you do it so that it works best for you. Reacting blind first, and then reviewing is how I've seen people normally do the content, but that works very differently and takes longer when reading manga compared to watching anime. Filmbuff, Romania Black and SoS do it very well. I think I've spent almost over a hundred hours watching all of Romania Black’s Aot series, but it was very enjoyable. Some correction facts: When confronted by Eren, Mikasa, and Armin near the tunnel entrance, Annie remarks that she could not become a "Warrior" (戦士 Senshi?). However, in the official English translation from Kodansha, this word is translated as "soldier." A more accurate title for the last chapter would therefore also be Warriors Dance (戦士は踊る Senshi wa Odoru?).

    • @NunoXEIShay
      @NunoXEIShay 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for those suggestions of others doing similar content. I may check a few of those out to see if I can take anything away. Ultimately, the approach really is informed by what feels "natural" for the content creator to do, because there's a layer of authenticity that is lost when a vlog is produced too much like a "product". I am trying to find a happy boundary and its fun experimenting with this vlog--but I, too, think I enjoy the blind read experience more, even if it's more uncomfortable to do in the computer chair... it might just mean that I need to do it in chapter-by-chapter reactions instead of reading the full volume in one sitting. "Soldier" instead of "warrior" makes a lot of sense. I recall reading the word "warrior" a few times, actually, and thinking it was just a term the different branches called those who served in them. I'm looking forward to seeing where things go in the next couple volumes!

    Speaking of covers, these last 2 are pretty spoilery, like damn. Starting Annie's reveal with her day-to-day life in the MPs is an interesting and fun way of doing it, it's very unorthodox in its design from everything I've seen and read so far. Even the plan being unknown to us makes it feel like we are Annie in this sense. We get to see how the MPs operate and function for the first time since they were only seen with Nile in the courtroom and the 2 investigating Mikasa's kidnappers. We meet 3 MP recruits, 2 with names, and get a picture of the kind of people who are there. Though Marlowe is the exception, much like Eren. The ring is great and it seems a heck of a lot easier and less painful way of injuring yourself then biting. The Eren/Annie and Armin/Annie dynamic is so very interesting and both of them refused to think it was completely possible. Eren more than Armin since he was sitting on it for a much longer time then Eren. Armin's and Annie's speeches about normal Vs special and good Vs bad people is great characterization for them. Annie's a fascinating character, especially now that all of this is revealed. Eren has a big time problem associating Annie with the Female Titan even when faced with what happened to all those scouts. Before he transforms his eyes are darting between all the bodies and saying he has to save them even though they are dead. Mikasa and Armin are focused on the mission, and Mikasa interrogates his ass with those eyes, like god damn. The Mikasa/Annie dynamic is also interesting, but that's for another time. Eren getting his motivation from Mikasa and her classic quote is very nice since it's those same thoughts that brought her back as well, "The world is a cruel place, but also very beautiful", being inspired by his words from the cabin. It's so cool! A question: What are your thoughts about their responses? Eren doesn't really believe that she's the enemy, or at least he doesn't want to. Armin still wants to talk with Annie, and I don't feel like he really views her as a complete enemy since she let him go twice. Mikasa doesn't really care and is ready to fight her again, especially since she has beef with Annie because of what she did to Eren. The flashback showing the already big and empty castle feeling even more empty since Levi’s Squad passing is depressing. At least we got Levi's shitty jokes. Armin, looking at Marco’s ODM gear, is actually in Vol. 6. Also, horseface Jean. Eren’s transformation and his uppercutting Annie is one of my favorite transformations in the series. I love it to death and It feels so good since she kicked his ass last time. Poor Nile and the Wallists, knowing nothing of what’s about to fall on their asses, especially the Wallists, RIP them. At least Nick survived, let’s hope he gets those reconstruction bills paid. Annie this time is severely outmatched because of the environment: Her being caged this time, people ready to attack with Mikasa being among them and Eren in complete control this time around, thinking logically and not going berserk. His introspection of Annie. Though he is not able to beat her still, he works together with the others to take her down. Mikasa taking responsibility for inadvertently taking Levi out of commision for this battle is great. It shows her respect for the things at stake and not only Eren. It is not shown entirely clear at the end, but when she scales the wall, she is too fast for the scouts to catch up, which is when Armin notices Eren coming over, in control, to help. He has Eren throw Mikasa up towards Annie, which is why Hange is so surprised to see Mikasa and why she makes it up first to cut her fingers off. “Annie, Fall.” And it's done. Eren holds her down while the Scouts cut around the hardened nape to get to Annie and while he goes in to grab her, she, while crying for the second time in the story, remembers her fathers words and crystallizes herself away in a cocoon. Also, Wall Titans. Whattttt! Iconic, so iconic. One last question: What are your thoughts about Annie? What is she fighting for, like Eren asks about? What do you make of the dialogue with her father?

      @NunoXEIShay 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Both of your questions are related. Since Erin can shift into a Titan-form, he likely has a suppressed perspective that we haven't been able to experience, because Erin himself hasn't been able to understand is there. I think that subconscious perspective is what holds Erin back from truly blaming Annie, or believing she is also a Titan rider/shifter. Whatever suppressed driver exists in Erin, when he goes Titan-mode, may be in conflict with what triggers Annie, when she goes into Titan-mode. Annie's father's comments were intentionally ambiguous, if read with subtext in mind. On the surface, him telling her to "come back" may be interpreted as her physically returning to a home that she left. On the subtextual level, this statement could be tied to her psyche, as in whatever might have been done to her, to make her a Titan shifter, might have done something to her emotionally, and the father likely had a hand in it and blames himself (maybe this will be a parallel to Erin's father's plot eventually). That's sorta where I'm at. I don't really have overt answers--but instead have ideas that I'm holding onto from a narrative subtext weaving perspective, if that makes sense!

    listening to Batman having a debate with philosophers is so relatable. I watch "Multiversal Wisdom" channel from time to time, I think that's the name, which is dedicated to Batman making plans against different characters with AI voice. The bit about subscribers not being as valued as raw traffick of people going in and out kinda made me realize that YT is much like a dating culture to an extent. It's less about building that connection and more about it being a transient "situationship" (I hate that this is a legit term people not only use but live by in our society). But I guess I myself watch plenty of channels once or twice and never again, so what the fuck do I know XD🤣 It's gonna be a long week without XEI shenanigans, so I'm going to use that downtime to challenge myself (hopefully if I'm not lazy). I want to match your challenge of reading AOT before the year ends(which is to say, you ain't doing it, no way XD) by catching up on the ~10 CSM chapters and actually starting Tokyo Ghoul for real for real. Tho the amount of chapters per volume is a bit intimidating, compared to AOT for example, 8-10 chapters is yikes for my significantly reduced reading speed. But yeah, my current manga goal is CSM -> Tokyo Ghoul definitely, and possibly Black Lagoon and Fire Punch after, but maybe I'll read Fujimoto's other works, post CSM Part 1 stuff cuz I really love his stuff, even his teen age one-shots, they had potential to be a legit series. Not really interested in a lot of "new kid" stuff like My Hero Aca(which I technically liked but it somehow rubbed me the wrong way and I didn't care anymore, even tho I supposedly dropped it before it hits peak?) or Demon Slayer and stuff cuz I'm a boomer like that haha, but I gotta read them I feel like at some point, there's GOTTA be a reason people liked them. I did do a little experiment with AI and asked it to provide regular books that are similar to manga/game prompts (like, give me books similar to Soma/Amnesia games etc, you get it) and it's interesting to see what it thinks is similar. Mistborn and Dresden Files came up at some point for certain IP references, which makes me even more interested since I already heard they were good before. Hyperion Cantos and The Stormlight Archive came for HI3rd prompt, one of these being by Brandon Sanderson, bro literally wrote every book possible, how does he do it. "channel would get dislike bombed" at least your location and socials didn't get doxxed and child porn posted on your accounts just because someone didn't like your content, if you know the story - you know. Although dislikes could be bot behaviour, I remember checking videos I made back in middle-school (privated quite a while ago), and a lot of them have the same amount of dislikes on each of them, way too unnatural and systematic. "this channel is gonna be content" ah, so you are finally ready to accept my 5-6 playlists of Vtuber clips ranging from 100-200 videos each... become the new Nagzz Discovers🤡 "You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me - Thanos", type shit. Anyways, hope ye hath a safe pilgrimage across the frozen plains, don't let the Titans getcha.

      I may have to look up that Batman Talks channel haha because I'd literally do a series on Batman commentary to some topic 😁. Never heard of "situationship"... Is this of the same realm as the parasocial dynamic of the last few years? New words to describe not-real psuedo-social dynamics so that one doesn't have to seek out real ones? And, ya, the AOT goal is hella aggressive, especially considering I'm not only doing AOT content. Still got at least two games to finish in Nov! But, if I keep aiming for the impossible, maybe the compromise will still be a better return by end of year! And, yes, I'll probably get back around to possibly investigating vtuber space stuff. It's a super super slow roll, but the casual variety and flow will hopefully BECOME the identity. That's the end goal with all the roads leading here. Disrupt things enough that it never really allows any single type of content to dominate and pigeonhole the Algorithm hahaha. Call it a three year plan, and we'll see what happens!

    TMA is definitely the kind of show that gets better as it goes on, especially since it's crafted really intelligently. I think something very important to consider especially in season 1 is that it starts with mostly anthology, stand alone stories and doesn't too deeply involve the characters yet. It also retroactively adds depth and understanding to certain characters later on, it's definitely worth keeping notes as well! There are lots of characters/entities that will pop up and taking notes will help you keep track of both them and some themes that start to form.

    My review from back in the day on MyAnimeList of Season 1 arc is 5 or 6 out of 10. Not because of any criteria, but based purely on how I felt about it. It's the weakest part of the story for me since I rated it with other later parts in mind. On it's own, it had more merit than I originally gave it credit for, the mystery being the strongest element, which of course gets overshadowed by other things as you get more context and knowledge as the title progresses.

    • @NunoXEIShay
      @NunoXEIShay 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Right--that's the tricky part of giving retroactive reviews and ratings! I've already begun to feel this when pondering how to approach the Vol 1 - 8 rating boards vlog that I'll be doing. Even though certain story beats are great in a broader multi-volume flow, the ultimate goal is to ALSO make the single volume hold together on its own. It will be a fun exercise!

  • @Yaori999

    LET'S GOOooo VOLUME 8 RAAAAAHH!!! 1 hour of XEI being baffled by Isayama looking up a YT tutorial how on tf to draw XD. But yeah, good improvements and many more well on the way. the gap between vol1 and vol8 is like almost 3 years so makes sense they'd be changes and reader feedback. Marlow really be that young politician upstart thinking he can "make the Walls great again". Guys like him are either ran out by the older crew or they give in to corruption and power. MLK "I have a dream" wanna be ass bowlcut boy, let's see if he lives long enough XD. 10:23 "If people were essentially good" Annie is the Original Sin believer, huh. interesting. Also, the increase in political focus and talking how the gov needs to be changed, more so than it's people, is very topical, let's just say that. funny timing, given what's going on in several countries that I am personally aware of.... Interesting Armin observation about relativism. Also, absolutely GOATED 4D chess by Armin. I like how they keep escalating the obvious reveal, from teasing her about not going into a tight underground space to outright talking it out like it's noone's business. So interesting how he decided to handle their dialogue, so calm and casual, Eren and Mikasa were holding it in for a good while. In some way it's kinda cute how Eren refused to acknowledge Annie as his enemy even tho they weren't even that close and couldn't transform. He still wanted her to be a comrade in the end... damn Annie so slick, she got you confused. Idk if you can see the ring on her in other chapters, but it's hers she just took it out for that scene (but I guess it looked like Armin gave it to her, bc he's on the right side of the page and the ring is also, and the composition makes it look like it he gave it to Annie. I guess that's how you saw it?). As for how faces are drawn, pretty sure he copies faces from references? (there are literally celebrity cameos in some Titan designs like Saul Goodman titan, one of the titans I swear is based on himself). You probably re-read the last volume, but Armin yells out, saying how he "saw" Annie kill Eren (referring to him by the nickname), which made her stop, giving Reiner the opening to attack her, and then she ran away. Nah, Isayama really said "I'm something of a comedian myself" with Annie crashing into the church, I can't. I guess they didn't pay their tithe that month and God always takes his cut🤑. I do have to say, props to Isayama for figuring out how to take Annie out without killing her off, assuming she is alive in the cacoon. It's so simple to just kill a character off and intruduce a new antagonist, but if you keep them, it makes it a lot more interesting. Add that to a bingo card along with "will we reach basement this volume". Okay, funny thing - can you imagine being left on the wall titan face reveal for FOUR(4) years? cuz that's where the season1 ends. Soldiers Dance is Season2 stuff bc 1 episdoe is usually 2 chapters (manga readers stay winning). Colossal Bro really said "I'm in your walls" but he ain't meme-ing tho, why'd he do that, who put him there? Church gang has a lot to answer since they do seem to know a bit, that even Armin's book doesn't. does the church worship the Walls because they contain the titans or because they contain the titans, if you see what I mean 🤔. 1:05:35 no way bro already forgot Miche, the Vtuber feet sniffer, the schnose man. Man, I really want you to read very specific chapters blind for that raw reaction, holy *fuckkkkk* . but I don't want to signal which ones as to not set up expectations about them... can you just read the whole Season 2 stuff as a blind read LMFAO (vol 9-12).

    • @NunoXEIShay
      @NunoXEIShay 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's crazier to think that since these Chapters are release after one month each, that the subtle, single-panel, seeds are left behind as mild echoes before Isayama drops the thunder later on. A second read of this series is likely alarming to experience how much ground work exists in subtle layering. I'll see if I can approach the blind reads a bit differently in order to maintain the blind reaction part. Maybe I'll record ONE Chapter at a time, but then stitch them together--that kinda thing--that way it's not almost 2 hours on that chair and dark reading setup!

    Armored Titan's armor is definitely harder to see see in the manga unless you read the colored version or watch the anime (tho anime taken creative liberty with the coloring since it's different from the manga). This volume does create an interesting point, if FemTitan can harden, what's the point of having a dedicated Armored one in the story. Sure, she can't maintain it for long, or whatever they said in the chapter, but that ain't such a unique ability, huh? Imagine Colossal Titan can also do it tho, that's a final boss right there if I ever saw one, or is it?. 13:30 pretty sure the "Ssssss" sound effect is meant to be her inhaling for the scream. Makes sense to wonder if Eren can also manipulate Titans the same way or is it only her? [try not to make a Twitch thot and tier 3 subscribers joke] I forgot to timestamp, but I mean, if Miche has that Wolverine smell, why can't Potato Girl have Spidey-Sense? Oooooo, sexist comment detected, canceeeled 🗿 Erwin Smith is a very eccentric and dare I say esoteric character. Can't wait to see more. 26:15 the WHAT now??? oh hell naw, this [respectable gentleman] is tweakin'. you did not just say that if you said what I think you said. 😭 "That's how eager he is" I can't tell if you chuckled because you considered making a dad joke or not, but I kinda wish you actually went for the "that's how jaeger he was", it's too easy XD "Levi is gonna have some regrets" welp, so much for "No Regrets" amirite.. man, the fight is insane in the anime. respect to the mangaka too, it can't be easy to figure out how to compose the scenes, especially since he is a reletively young one, wonder how he tackled the brainstorming. Bleach's mangaka for example, listened to rock music and improvised the scenes in his mind, rotating them in his head and drawing the more appealing angles, rather than using existing references and poses to copy. Also, I can't wait for the official reveal so I can stop catching myself spoiling the name and using "Female Titan" isntead of it... Thank God this is not a outspoken conversation, cuz I'd slip up for sure. anime sure makes is a whole lot more obvious given the full color and shows the scene before Eren's head goes flying a bit differently which is a massive giveaway unless I misremember. 40:10 the sequence of event basically comes down to Levi pushing Mikasa out of the way, he ends up colliding with the FemT's swing, which breaks his ankle(anime adds an additional scene of it cracking, compared to just 1 panel of him gasping), he than cuts both cheeks, forcing the mouth to open, he doesn't actually go through it XD. 41:05 it's so sad to see her cry at her failure, poor girl I can't say the name of... scratch, that, both Eren and her do the same🤕maybe she just wants a friend. LMAOOO that Peter Griffin scene with Armin. I remember sharing the video that shows Marina Inoue's voice comparison between Armin and Elysia and that scene was there animated. I had NO idea where it was from btw, which is why I shared it since it wasn't a spoiler. Probably got adapted into one of the OVAs cuz I still have no idea where it fits the anime. The rejected Mikasa cover tho 😳 You have no idea, after the cook-out OVA, people worship Mikasa's abs, since she appears there in that outfit. Shout out to Female Titan not being a spitter tho, she sure knows how to hold it in her mouth. edit: I had to edit the comment just in case people are reading this for the first time or smth, but I did make a joke that accidentaly hints at Female's identity, oops!!!

    More talk about choices and trust! As the ones in the dark try to figure out what's really happening, the Jean Armin duo and the Levi squad come to a conclusion as they almost finish each others thoughts and sentences. It goes back to Pixis saying that he's willing to become a butcher for humanity's sake and Armin does think of Ian, Pixis and Zackley in the same vein as Erwin. People able to abandon their humanity and make those tough decisions. I do enjoy that due to the paneling, Jean and Eren are thinking the same thing and asking Armin/Levi Squad the same questions despite how different they are to each other, and Levi Squad saying that Eren will understand at some point why Erwin leads the Survey Corps while Armin at the same time deduces his reasons for why. The Sasha and Mikasa dynamic is cute ever since Mikasa committed the heinous crime of denying Sasha bread and eating it in front of her. At least they can somewhat relate because they both lived outside of the big cities. The capture plan is diabolical and almost works (technically, it did) if not for the toughened skin and the scream calling the titans to eat her. Lots of sacrifices today. Levi got to enjoy his tormenting self, but flew too close to the sun as maybe the Female Titan did piss themselves in there. I do remember people blaming Levi for making her scream out like that. (Btw, I'm sure you remember, but the anime made it much clearer that the Armored Titan is indeed armored. The manga is hundreds times more vague as it is very low-detail and doesn't get its scene as much focus as it does in the anime.) Also, you get to see Mike's sniffing ability in action here. I disagree, I think that Olue and Petra pissing themselves while flying with the ODM gear poses great thoughts about the intricacies of ODM movement. Eren with his willpower didn't piss himself his first time outside the walls, so that tells you of the great fortitude he has and the better feats he can accomplish, lol. On a more serious note, you can tell that Olue and Petra came from the same Cadet Corps with the way they always bicker with each other and that possibly Olue likes her. Petra always speaks highly of Levi in her scenes, so that's why she always admonishes Oluo for trying to imitate the Captain. He also wears the same handkerchief as him. Here is the end of Levi Squad. They fought well, so much so that 3 of them were enough for the Female Titan to pull out a new ability again. Eren does not succeed in making the choice with least regrets, instead opting to trust his comrades again. He already regretted his last choice. There is great juxtaposition with Erwin's dialogue and Levi Squad telling and almost provoking Eren to leave them to it. Erwin says that in order for humanity to fight these unknowns, they have to get off the straight and narrow path and take massive risks in order for them to win, and Levi Squad doesn't do that, foretelling their demise. RIP Gunther, Eld, Petra and Oluo! A fantastic scene in the anime. Some actual titan-to-titan martial arts combat, though Eren is still using brute force and whatever hand-to-hand combat he learned in training. Looks like it became useful after all. His rage does make the Female Titan scared of him as he almost starts thinking as if he is the titan saying he would eat her. A bit inappropriate I would say, Eren! And again, he does get her on her ropes, but she do just be better. What a win streak. Until Mikasa and Levi step in, as Armin’s wishes come true. But at this point, she has been put through the ringer and now is up against the very best, so I would say she did well. And Eren did "die" again in front of Mikasa this time, so yikes. Can't do much against pissed off Mikasa and Beyblade Levi who single handedly destroys her. Levi's emotionless but emotional expressions as he flies by the Levi Squad told us everything, but he still thinks of the bigger picture, formulates a plan to get Eren back and hurts his ankle saving Mikasa. I'll leave the combat scenes for the anime when you watch it, but Levi looks back at the Female Titan crying after getting defeated. The Survey Corps returning scene is heartbreaking and just a kick in the gut, stab in the heart and a good mirror to the very beginning. Damn you Petra’s father, you kill me. Let's hope Eren gets better results with the MPs? Maybe?? Long ass comments. But I can get 1 more question in me: Looking at all of this now that it's finished, do you think the whole operation was worth it in the end. Was Erwin right with what he did? Or is it more like Armin says, where you can never know what to expect, so putting everything on the line was the only thing they could've done?

    • @NunoXEIShay
      @NunoXEIShay 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Rough outcome all around, for sure. The Levi Squad barely got the screen time they deserved. Made the outcome that much more brutal though. I think Armin's point is more valid than Erin's. When you have nothing to lose, you take more risks, and similarly, when you've accepted that you would lose everything for a belief, you will commit more confidently. That said... It's also important to not regret what you could've done based on details you couldn't have known. So, although I think Erin could've very likely helped save lives, he might have compromised a lot of lessons the survivors took away from that Female Titan encounter, even at such a great sacrifice. Additionally he might have lost control and then been killed by Levi Squad. Getting handed over to the MP is bad news though... I'm worried about Volume 8. I will read that one blind I think for the vlog.

    Damn, if i had just a few minutes of this generated "conversation" i couldn't tell it's AI generated. The whole of it gets a bit unnatural, not entirely logical and too narrow, but most would not detect it without kniwing this is AI. Which leads me to conclude that AI tools are a real danger for tge future where people wouldn't be able to tell if content is AI generated or genuine. It wouldn't be so dystopian, if people used these tools with disclaimers, in good faith, without ill intentions or greed and grift. Knowing the nature of people and intentions of adversial powers, this could be also weaponised or flood the internet in ways it's hard to imagine yet. Thankfully no LLM is genuinely creative, yet.

      100% agree to all the above. The part that should make people pause is that this is the FIRST (or early early) version and THIS is the output. Imagine future versions? For sure this will lead to lots of misuse. I think on its surface, something like this can be used for personal entertainment as harmless fun, similar to playing video games or watching movies. I consume a lot more generated content that never sees the light of day beyond me, than I do other media, and it's very easy for me to point out when something used AI at this stage... But I also have my mom sharing TikToks and stuff with me and reacting to it like it's real when I can clearly hear the AI generated voice reading AI generated scripts, on an AI generated video, using AI generated subtitles. It's going to be a crazy world out there in a year!

    All of the Female Titan battles are so enjoyable to read and see. They are all excellently done and such a spectacle. All the soldiers going to their death just to stop it knowing nothing else then that it's a threat to the rest of the formation. Even Jean, Armin and Reiner did it for the same reason and almost died for it, the tension is done beautifully I remember. Jean has become such a pleasure to watch and the duo of Armin and Jean is so interesting and fun. They fit so perfectly I feel, their talk in the Giant Forest is great. They are very much the thinkers. Even Reiner has his great thoughts on asses. (The violence here is brutal in comparison to the anime, which kind of shows it, but hides away from showing the complete carnage.) The Goddess has blessed us again. May her kindness enter in our hearts and soothe our souls! She gifts us bread and horses. The Giant Forest is fun and an iconic location for me with how strange it is. There is a lot of talk about trust in this volume with the Scouts having no idea what's going on but blindly following the orders. But all the rookies are questioning it and especially Eren who has very much been a wild card in this society. He has always charged ahead towards the enemy disregarding what he's been told. That's where Levi Squad and the fantastic No Regrets speech by Levi comes in, where he for the first time chooses to not do anything and just follow his orders, because he wants to feel human again and its "the easy path". The Levi Squad (and Hange, they are great! May her assistant keep her safe or die of a heart attack) is very sweet and welcoming to Eren despite hiccups on the way. A great dynamic! A question: Do you believe that this is good advise to give to Eren? Do you think it's good advise overall, to do things that you will least regret in life? Let's hope Erwin's gamble paid off. Regarding the experiment with Eren's transformation, you can see maybe be able to tell more clearly in the anime, but I would say it's because his hand was hurting from biting himself already, so when he dropped the spoon and went to pick it up he strained himself and the titan ability helped him pick it up just like only a skeletal titan appeared to stop the cannon ball. I would say it's amazing that in the last 5 years that there was no time where he hurt himself enough and had a clear goal at same time to accidently transform, like during the sparing sessions for exemple.

    • @NunoXEIShay
      @NunoXEIShay 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Indeed! The combo trigger is a bit difficult to land narratively, because it has to accommodate the passage of time having NOT accidently triggered the transformations. They have to work though a bit of that continuity disruptor for sure! Do I think "do things that you will least regret in life?" is good advise. In short: Absolutely. If anyone has followed my journey as a content creator, and all the different approaches I experimented with in the last 2-3 years, it was all fueled by a similar principle I try to live by which are tied to two quotes I heard 20-30 years ago and forever stuck with me. 1. Hope for the best and expect the worst, that way all your surprises are pleasant ones, and 2. It better to try and fail than to regret not trying at all. The idea being that regret is a strong emotion that can poison the mind as it seeks to fulfill other goals. Not knowing if something could've worked is worse than failing and being able to learn something from the experience so that you can try again with lessons behind you. The Levi quote is a darker version of this in that it states that if you have TWO crappy options, which option is going to make you sleep at night LESS terribly :). It's sorta bleak... but it's a similar sentiment :D.

    I'm telling you, you'll appreciate Yams' art evolution way more after you read the prototype story, I had trouble following what was going on there bc of the rough art. It's always interesting to see if the mangaka retains a style, evolves it or outright changes it. for example, One Piece and Naruto from my memory retain the art with minor touch-ups, Bleach ups the style with each arc (dare I say, Tite Kubo set an unrealistic standard for me when it comes to character's physical appeal with Bleach. best looking girls(and guys?) in any ani-manga, not even close). Jojo's art change was pretty tough to adjust to since he went from Fist of the North Star inspired bulky art to much more flamboyant and dare I say effeminate even, but after a couple of Parts things fall into place just fine. Mad respect for Isayama for drawing Female Titan chapters with one hand tho 🥵 Brooo, I just had a nasty thought in my head 😭. Since Eren, assumngly, needs a goal to tranform along with a bodily injury, imagine he shifts by accident when taking a really dry dump and it damages his ass or something, just a massive titan ass sprouts out... Also, it's crazy how Eren can even take a chunk off his arm, our teeth are meant for grinding, not ripping raw flesh apart like that. That boy CRAZY. can't wait for next Volume, I was certain that events I was thinking off happened in this vid, but no. AOT is totally the type of manga that you need to re-read multiple times to catch everything. Isayama goes crazy on setups in places you wouldn't even know he had them.

      I could attempt a character tier list. It takes me a while to truly wrap my head around each character, though, as the story itself primarily influences what character concepts I get attached to. Could be an interesting exercise, but I might need to start small and focused and let it evolve. This might also lead to working better as additional vlogs, instead of attached to the vlog reads... UNLESS I can force myself to lean out the "reads" as "impression summaries" instead :)... and then let the Volume Tier Lists trigger the additional thoughts instead?!? I'd have to spin my thoughts around this a bit :).

    crazy read-a-thon!!! while I have added a bunch of stuff on Goodreads to keep track of stuff to potentially read at some point, the most effort I actually put in was (yet again) try to force myself to read Tokyo Ghoul. I read 1 chapter years ago and just kinda got swept up by things. I did find out about Chapter 0, which is kinda like proof of concept, the one-shot chapter mangakas submit to get a kick-start for their IP, so I have to start with that. I did read "Volume 0" for AOT ages ago, he wrote it in 2006, 3 years before AOT would get published proper. it's interesting stuff. Fell behind CSM by about dozen+ chapters, but it's better to be behind than to catch up and wait for next release. Same with HI3rd, I'm STILL behind on Part 1.5 story from like 3 years ago, and it took me 1 year to finish Chapter 1 of Part 2, and it's now on Chapter 5, I need to catch up in case they randomly push out an art book, cuz I won't be able to speedrun all that content to earn points. Quit Genshin a while ago, since I wasn't really playing it for the past several years, it's just a waste of space, it's officially Himekover, I'm cross with that game.

    Funnily enough, if you do the tier list with just the 8 volumes of AOT you will cover the entirety of Season 1. Also, after Vol. 8 you can read the No Regrets manga as that is normally when people watch the OVA as it was released after Season 1 but before Season 2. Or you can read in chronological order which would be after Vol. 13.

    Even at this point in the story, you can tell how much the art's improved since vol. 1, it's amazing! Ilse's Notebook is very fun and insane to look back on and happens so early in the story in comparison to the anime which people normally watch after season 1, som even a little bit into season 2. Rip Ilse Langner! I also enjoy the character introductions page. It made it so much easier keeping track of characters when I was watching/reading the anime/manga, especially since it gets updated when there are new characters. Fun fact, Hange does not have a distinct gender in the manga as nobody ever calls them as her or he, so its up to interpretation. But in the anime, they are definitively a woman, in pronouns and in character design. The courtroom scene is classic and iconic. For some specific people its loved for a entirely different reason. All the political ramifications and societal implications are why I love it with all the different viewpoints from within the 2 walls and branches of the government and military. So many moving pieces, even the conservatives are brought back from one of the info pages about districts. But I am one who just loves when the characters talk and nothing more, so that's more my taste then anything else. All the cut dialogue from the anime saddens me because its great. The Special Operations Squad or just Levi Squad is great, I love them. Eren is put into a squad without any of his friends for the first time and has to gain trust through his actions. Not just theirs, but the worlds. None of these people have been there when Eren made his speeches in the cafeteria. I do love this little "Eve of the Counterattack arc" as the anime calls it, where we actually meet the Scouts themselves for the first time and explore more of why they exist, why they joined and how they operate. The titans get a lot of attention as well. A lot of character build-up is done here for Captain Levi and Commander Erwin. Some great community memes are from here as well. Some questions: What do you think about the dynamics Eren has with the Survey Corps and its members? What do you think about the members themselves? Are there any characters you like so far? The titan experiments are fun for theorizing and worldbuilding. The Eren-Hange talk is really interesting with how different they see the world around them. Rip Sonny and Bean! May they munch on as many humans as they desire in titan heaven. Do you have any idea why they were killed other then the reason we were given? And what of Erwin's question? What are your thoughts on Erwin himself? Annie is a great character and her actions belie her compassion. Her talk with Connie and Armin I enjoy greatly. (The Military Police Brigade is most commonly shortened down to MPs, but I can see that they jump around on how they want it to be said.) The recruit solicitation ceremony continues with Erwins bold and no-holds-barred propositions and our recruit's choices to join the Survey Corps against their better judgement. Shinzou Sasageyo!! And so begins the 57th Expedition Outside the Walls! This is where the anime does a greater job in terms of stakes and feelings in my opinion with the new things that are added. The military strategies are really enjoyable to witness and they work really well with a simple explanation. The Long-distance Enemy Scouting Formation is brilliant. Jean's honest and crude comments continue and harbor the same sentiment Eren has had to deal with since his titan powers were revealed: Can you become a beacon of hope, an "Icon", for us? And they share one of the more kinder moments since their bickering started. So we are introduced to the Female Titan. RIP Squad Leader Ness and Siss! Great teamwork and even greater horses. Sorry for the long comment. A lot happens, a lot can be said. FYI, the interview with Isayama in vol.1 at the end is something you can read now without spoilers. Here is some info on the writing in this world: "On page 3, there is a glimpse of Ilse's notebook. The text is messy Japanese katakana turned upside down and written from right to left. The text translates to "encountered a Titan" (ソウグウカンジキョン souguukajikyojin?), which corresponds to the hiragana of Ilse's thoughts written at the left in the same panel: "In command of the left flank of the 2nd brigade. On the way back, encountered a Titan (そうぐうかじきよじん?)."

      That's interesting about Hange! I can only picture/hear the anime Hange now when I read the manga, but it just hit me that this is absolutely true! The great opportunity of that courtroom scene was for the mangaka to slip in just enough world-building context that highlights the other factions at play within the walls. They get planted as seeds that will inevitably play a bigger part later on! The Survey Corp is great overall. The risks they take are mitigated by rigorous structure and execution, but it relies deeply on trusting your allies, not just in a squad, but beyond and up the chain too. They end up functioning like an organism flowing through the land... kinda like an immune system fighting a cancer :D. Levi stands out, of course. The others in "Squad Levi" are dedicated old timers with experience and history and stats to match. They're also dedicated to the idea of blind trust... I'm a bit concerned about what that'll lead to :S... Why Sonny and Bean were killed can go two ways, in my mind so far. The first gets mentioned: someone taking out their anger on the titans by striking at the easy targets. This being a story with conspiratorial faction potential, I suspect it's something tied to an intentional destabilization of the city's power dynamics. Beyond that ambiguity, the speculation gets me into potential spoiler trigger territory from people responding to things accidentally haha. I'll try to keep this in mind in future vlogs to make comments on when I get an opening with context!

    Ilse's Note is actually not present in the main anime despite MASSIVE lore implications. It was made as an OVA (basically an animated movie, additional media) so if you don't know about it, it's possible to miss it. There are other OVAs but they are not part of the manga or even directed by Isayama, so the canonicity is sketchy (tho you do have No Regrets which is pretty canon tho optional, but we are in no rush to read it). I love how when the titan eats her, it looks like its crying in anguish because of the blood, interesting visual, regardless of whether or not it's meant to be anything. something smells and it's not Sasha's farts, as Mikasa had said... Hange's name is pronounced Hanji. she's definitely one of the more interesting characters. Miche (mii-keh) is just a vtuber fan, he like to spam the sniffa emote (Milky Mew fanbase moment). Now, if you asked me if I'd rather sniff Sasha or Mikasa, I'd say there is a reason God gave us two nostrils. Levi beats Eren , a Telltale notification pops up - "Mikasa will remember that". Eren really be getting that Bruce Banner treatment tho for real, where the Avengers at. Sawney and Bean's names are inspired by a real life cannibal Sawney Bean from 16th century Scottland, it's an interesting story. Erwin is just a manga reader trying to give hints to anime-only Eren without spoiling. He read the leaks. uh oh, a "Female" Titan, was it? the bigger they are, bigger the problems... but maybe we should look on the bright side, maybe Titan Eren can get himself a girlfriend?. The pacing sure is nothing like I remember, its moving way too fast, we are already at this point in the story huh.

      That's real strange making Ilsa's Notebook an OVA. I'm curious to find out how the anime drops that information--unless it's literally just that scene of them finding the notebook and making the passing reference to it being Ilsa's and then move on with the plot... I thought Sonny and Bean might have been a reference to something... I was scratching my head, repeating "Sonny & Cher"... "Mr. Bean"...?

    If you'd ever want the colored pages in color, they are in the Colossal edition. Rip Ian's and Mitabi's squads, you did well! Some great and iconic lines and moments in this Volume. Tatakae! I always enjoyed the Trost arc as the starting line into the world of the titans. And here is the 104th Cadet Corp training arc which was moved around in the anime, with scenes that were longer, cut, or moved around(Rip Annie's smile). For me, it's like a hunt to see which scene or page or dialogue was moved somewhere differently. Also, it has a different context since we know what's to come. I enjoy it as a arc that fully introduces the characters and character dynamics, but I agree with the anime in moving it to before Trost as it connects us to these characters before throwing them into chaos. Though, the Marco reveal is great in the manga. It's such a grim and extreme page turn. Rip Marco! I miss you, you sweet freckled child. Jean is a standalone part of this and the previous volumes that I greatly enjoyed watching for the first time. He is a very honest and human character, and to see where he ends up in the end here is fantastic. And now we're left with the Commander Erwin of the Survey Corps(Who actually appears in the first chapter), Captain Levi and Eren's determination as always. Fun and chill times incoming hopefully?? 2 question now that we've reached this point: which characters and character dynamics have you enjoyed the most so far and look forward to? Also, will you be reacting to the anime again? I do enjoy your reactions to the chapters, but do them the way that you find works best. Don't want to sabotage your enjoyment of the series because you have to do them a certain way. Onwards to more blind territory!

    • @NunoXEIShay

      Expect experimentation with the series approach, but FOR SURE it's onward onward ONWARD! I need to let this figure itself out and just enjoy the journey with whomever wants to tag along for some exchanges along the way! You highlighted both the strengths and weaknesses here. The volume wasn't BAD, necessarily--despite by giving it a 2 or 3 star on GoodReads... I think I landed on 3 because I can't give 2.5 :)... but this is a score structure that requires me to measure it up against a specific criteria as a standalone experience! Solo, it doesn't create a very compelling overall cohesive story flow. There are still solid moments with characters and subtle defining events (Marco/Jean and the harness jam tests, for example), both which I think were super strong, when considered relative to the broader world building. As a lore building volume, it's very good, though. So the perspective around how its evaluated matters to my overall sentiments. Jean is probably my favorite character development so far. Erin and Mikasa, ironically enough, as key primary characters, are sorta "one note-ish" and so carry the plot, but don't make me think too deeply about them. Sasha is my unexplainable "protect at all cost" character :). Based on the summary they give for Connie, makes me curious about their trajectory. Annie skillset and training and background comes off as potentially being a plot bomb later on. Reiner also feels like he may surprise me, as he's subtly setup as a simple profile, but that could be a foundation for some solid development and epic moment later on (and maybe not with happy results). Early speculations :). I would love to watch the anime and react again. I may try to actually finish the manga at this rate and then swing back around to marathon the anime and be able to watch it with full hindsight for comparisons etc. We'll see how this channel develops, as I'm tentatively exploring the idea of this being a place for that kind of "reaction vlog" channel place thingy :). More vloggy--less reactiony. We'll see how the year goes!

    Interesting to hear you talk about the pacing. Now i really want to see you read CSM if you ever get through your immidiate catalogue. There is a reason people came up with "Chainsaw Man Pacing" term, let's just say that. gotta put some respect on Jean's name, he saw an Asian for the first time in his life and developed a bit of a crush, instead of asking her to teach him kung fu (idk how many of these A Slap on Titan parody references I'm gonna make, but I can't wait for you to be done with what;s covered in Season 1, so you can watch it). too bad she's the sister of his literal foil XD. Him rubbing Eren's handshake on Connie's back is unwarranted tho. I love Sasha's whole thing with the potato. Bro was FLABBERGASTED when she shared not even half of it, she had the bigger half pretty sure. Not Mikasa trying to get that spotlight with the monologue, only for Eren to dip on her mid-speech 😭. At least we had the start of Sasha x Mikasa ship, one of the less insane ones that is. fun fact - Reiner (pronounced the German way, rai-ner, not rei-ner) and Welt share the JP voice. our boy Bertotrotle is a bit of a localization victim, they mess his name up a few times in either anime or manga (maybe both), not as bad as Carla, but minor spelling differences occur. Eren's eyes perpetually look looney, that's for sure. It's almost like committing multiple murders as a kid and watching your mom get eaten in front of you is bad for your mental😅 Well, Eren being best at hand-to-hand sure is convinient considering his Titan, huh. Sure is lucky he has an option to fight without ODM gear. Personally, I enjoy this format, but if you want to do something different, sure thing. Whatever gets you to read the damn books XD.

      I truly felt like this read was a bit off now that I was reading blind. But that the disconnect of recording and experiencing the read in one reality, but then with the power/magic of editing, it sorta comes together and feels entirely different to how I recall feeling while recording it. it's a strange disruptive feeling I can't really explain :). By the end I felt like I completely screwed the entire video up for some reason. For the next volume, I ended up not recording the full read, and will instead do a summary commentary vlog. I feel like I can ramp up my enthusiasm while flipping pages and triggering memories and thoughts--and maybe the process ends up taking me about the same time, but I feel like I'm be more in control of my compressed rambling that way. Worth trying to see how this all morphs and it'll just be a part of the experience here, as my plan is STILL to finish by New Year!

Definitely up there with Overly Sarcastic Productions. "Everyone gets one" I'm probably not old enough to get that unless I am, but the first thing I thought was Oprah Winfrey. Man, thinking about 2000s being vague and fading memories makes me feel so old😭 CHAINSAW MAN RAAAAAAAH!!!! don't you dare touch that sucker before buying Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man: 17-21 and 22-26 (collections of one=shots before Chainsaw Man, numbers represent his age when creating those pieces). we gotta soften you up first, and they are interesting stories. Technically, there is also Fire Punch which was also made before CSM, but its more unhinged that CSM from my limited knowledge it's the one I haven't read yet. Look Back, Goodbye Eri and Just Listen to the Song are post CSM part 1 one-shots, really good too. FYI CSM part 1 is volume 1-11, and everything after is part 2, kinda simialr situation to HI3rd (especially when it comes to people complaining about Part 2 not being as good as P1, very similar in this regard). Conan short stories were written by Robert E. Howard in the 30s, when he was in his 20s. He unlifed himself at 30 after his mom passed away. He was a prolific writer and it's a shame he exited so soon. The Swartznagger Conan movies from the 80s is how most people know the IP. I played the early 2000s Conan MMO game, which was relatively faithful to the original stuff, but in a post King Conan era. Exiles is the most recent. Howard was the king of "in media res" storytelling--starting right at the actions, effectively skipping a traditional Act 1. The stuff is awesome to read--highly recommended! And yes... sorta thinking about Walking Dead Telltales this week. You know, it's only the... SIXTH year of planning to play the games for Halloween LP :). Still a week left to decide :D. "posted 10 minute ago" gang where we at. I am literal S P E E D demon. 3:05 actually you did say it the rigth way, it's not in fact, "levi" as you assumed. I love the Armin scene so much, the voice actress really popped off in the anime, too. He is easily one of my all time favorite characters in AOT, easy top 5 I'd say. Pixis' life goals to be "devoured" by a hot female titan is a mantra worth living by, ngl, I respect that😏. He was pretty swift to come up with the whole "ah yes, Eren's tranformation is TOTALLY something we've been doing and it's all according to plan". Which, realistically would also plant seeds of distrust into people imo. "If Eren was a government project, who's to say YOU aren't one, or ME but I don't even know it? What else is our government hiding from us?" Pretty risky strategy. Also like how he was basically "Eren, I know it's all too crazy and sudden, but you gotta become literal Atlus and carry humanity's hope and future in the shape of that boulder" Woah, why is Eren's Titan attacking Mikasa, it's like it's some sort of Rogue or something😯... Not the type of fisting she was expecting from him, huh. Again, it's more clear in the anime, but Eren punches himself in the face so hard both his hand and face explode, knocking him out. Since you were somewhat confused by the panels. somewhere around 35:40 you were talking about symbology of Titans and human nature. I like how instead of just being "okay giant naked zombies eat people, cool" you essentially went into "Titans are a physical manifistation of Original Sin, babyyyyyy" or something of that sort. This is gonna be a fun ride. Can't wait for another fastforward 3 years into the future for a re-re-read of AOT volume 1-3. The basement key is the metaphor for volume 4 confirmed, can we reach it.
