@@orgeomer yes it will match but this amp is more powerful better to connect it to a-s501
@@dawaniali Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of a-s701 instead of my current Technics SU-V620. Because technics distorts after half volume. Maybe before half. Of course, Technics is about 30 years old. A local store sells a-s701 as a display product for the same price as a-s501. If I buy a-s701 in this situation, I will still have to use it at half its capacity. Because a-s701 is a very powerful device. Am I understanding correctly?
@@orgeomer my advice is try to get a-a1100 even second hand its pure analog plus we don't put the volume half way 9 oclck or 10 the knob

@@dawaniali i am from Australia trying to purchase these speakers. I was able to find this website based in the UAE. I have contacted the customer service team of that retailer , hopefully should get a response soon but they don't ship to Australia.

701 has 100watts more power but similar not really the as1100 will cover both of them and gives u what u need

The tuning knob is not plastic, it only has a plastic center, otherwise the outside is metal.

I have the A-S801. Lovely amp! I run mine pure direct. Driving 4-ohm floor standers, it runs very cool.
All you need is an EQUALIZER to really make them even sound better.

Watching your vid and hearing it through my own AS2200. I notice you also had AS1100's bigger brother AS2100 next to it. Did you ever compare them?
Yes l have both of them as 2200 has toroidal transformer
I have it hooked to a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 240's which are 4 ohms, now before I purchased the amp I called Yamaha to be sure the amp could be used with 4 ohm speakers and they assured me it could, but to be sure to put the switch on the back into the 4 ohm position. The amp puts out about 128 watts per channel into 4 ohms.

I had bought same amp AS 501 with 110V and I didnt know not to plug to 220 V so it got fused. How to repair it, whether step down of power while connecting the same in Bahrain will work?
