Beautiful, those old Dodges, and Plymouth 6 Cylinder engines were the best. I have a 1939 Ford Tudor with the Original 221Ci Flathead V8 That I can almost stand up in the back. And yes original is the best. Just like this Built good, well last, durable, well made, and built. And made to last.
T?his is a beautiful car! I would clean up and re-paint the motor to be like original. I would also have the inside properly restored. Then it would be close to what it was like when new. These cars were great vehicles.
Now , that's quite a car you've got here. Love those middle seats in the back. In fact , it's a limo. Chrysler Corp. produced many such vehicles , which happened to be great workhorses. Thank you for sharing.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the sound you hear while watching this video is known as the "ROCKET RUMBLE", and there is only one type of engine that makes this beautiful sound. And that is a genuine Oldsmobile Rocket V8. No other engine ever produced by any other automobile manufacturer sounds as awesome as this does. Oh, and that is a beautiful Cutlass, James. I had a 1975 model myself, currently being enjoyed by a couple in Wisconsin.
My grandmother used a Dodge taxi to go to church. Great fun to use the jump seats. The cameraman said Thanks just once while he ordered his assistant around like she was just some lackey. Rude.
We used to call the doors that open at the front edge "suicide" doors. I guess because they could fly open, if cracked open while driving. Or it could have meant "if one were wishing to exit the car while it was in forward motion, it would be easier jump out".
Sadly China dictates the end of use of all combustion cars worldwide. Chinas boss Darth Xi told all politicians that they wont do any business with underdeveloped countries that still allow CO2 emitting traffic, airplanes or combustion based industry after 2030...I am sure USA and UK also will be forced by China to 100% electric traffic because today no industrialized country can afford sanctions by China.... China also decided that their people wont become older than 65 years to to stop their over aging community....what that means you can imagine. We face a new silent mass murder over there. Lets hope that wont come over too.
Nice car! My Grandfather and my Aunt had a ;47 Dodge. I don't remember the the extra seats. I don't think they had those. But, I remember the paint shine ane the dashboards! I was 6-7 then. Now, I'm 71. Thanks for the memories!
IN 60 YRS. YOU WILL NOT FIND ANY NEW CAR MADE IN THE LAST 20 YRS. LEFT STANDING IN AS GOOD AS SHAPE AS THIS. ARE WE REALLY ADVANCING NO WE ARE REGRESSING. ALL THE ADVANCEMENTS HAVE BEEN FOR THE RICH. NOT FOR THE MASSES. THIS CAR WAS MADE FOR THE MASSES.
my dad had one of these 1947 Dodge it was awesome!!!!! they were like a Sherman Tank tough it could probably take out anything on the streets nowadays.
Very rare seven passenger Dodge. Makes me miss my 42’ dodge convertible. I sold that in 2002 after owning it for 30 years.
I wish I had one of these, even as a project I'd have no problem with putting in the work such a great vehicle.
Car look's mint. In and out. Have you had this car from day one?

Chrysler really knew how to manage air, that car is well streamlined.
My father owned an identical black 1947 dodge with fluid drive. Had their wedding pictures taken in and around this car. 😊

My fathers car... Excellent....
The original Soccer Mom's car
Mine rusted out in just a couple years 70s products were very poor
O got one the same I’m like to sell too
Is a 1974 old enough now so engine mods are smog legal? Get some 1960s style power?
That's a nice car
Has the upright seating, interior room and profile of a modern day SUV. At least moreso than most cars that followed this in the 50s-70s
I rode in one of these when I was around 6 or 7 thought that back seat wa Huge (I was alone) in back.
Man that looks super gnarly. What is the set up you got going on? Is it sitting on a different frame? Sweet man! 🔥👍🏽
My first car. I don't remember if it was a 46 or 47, but identical. Great old car.

A little soap on the fan belt would quiet her right down. I'm 77, remember these cars quite well as my Dad and Uncle both owned one.
