The undersides of these buses are in good shape and is not shown in the videos nor talked about. The seller is Chuck and he is asking $10k for both buses. When we inspected these buses over the winter, he was non nog. on the pricing. He stated he has sold his building and has till June or July of 2021 to have them removed from the property.
We are aware that as of 5/29/2021 These buses are still available at the time of posting this video.

Where is this place?
Curious if you know what became of these two buses.
Still looking for some parts for mine
i hope enough people see this to make something happen in time. both of these look like decent projects. just sent all my money to the IRS....
Funny, I have the same "holder" in my 4106, but it's in the pony pump bay.
Wow, you guys go all out. I might just have to spend the extra on that wire when I go to re-wire. Are you restoring the original wiring, or doing a custom modernized harness? I hope you show it in detail. Step 1 - make a chart.
It will be semi modified. We are using a modern alternator. It will eliminate the original voltage regulator. Otherwise, all original. We have an all original bus that will also get a new harness later this year.
Wow crazy u guys found so many imperfections , thanks for sharing 👍🏽 Loads of wrk to do , I look forward to watching everything come together .
Thanks so much! 😊
Did this sell? If so, for how much? I just acquired one & want to fix it up & I am looking for parts.
No, Not as of yet. In fact, we are planning on turning this one into a food stand. We will be selling the window frames
The green paint is zinc cromate so it sticks to tha aluminum then u paint base coats
New subscriber here Keep them coming Good job
Thanks for the sub!
A very big job. I see you have it all figurwd out. Good luck Enjoy Keep the videos coming
Thanks 👍
It's amazing how many mistakes you find that was covered up. Thanks for the video!
I see vintage bus restoration, I sub.
Were are you located what state
We are in Deerfield, Ma
Modern wiring is said to attract rodents.
It is due to the type of coating on the wiring. It has a sweet flavor to them. unfortunately.
You are making me look very lazy. Time to get back to work on my GM fishbowl.
We would love to see the fishbowl. We have done some work or driven many types of buses over the years
The hidden damage will tell the tell but I'm sure you will make as good as new. Thanks.
You bet
Thank you very much. I will Keep following.
The electrical wires as you mentioned go up. GM had them run along the roof line of the bus. So, if you take out all the ceiling panels you should see all of the wire harness. It will run to the right rear corner of the bus. That is where the regulator is on all silversides. The copper line piping runs along the lower half of the bus through the baggage bays to the engine compartment
In this model of bus. The only electrical wire near the roof, serviced the overhead lighting only. All the other electrical ran done the middle of the bus. Watch our video about our step removal. This shows the location where they ran the wires.
at 3:06... i see another silverside in the background! is that a parts bus or another project? Keep up the great work, love the level of detail in your videos
That is owned by one of our employees. They are restoring the bus.
How about you tig weld those cracks then dremel or grind wheel them smooth and keep the original bracket... Get a tig welder and start practicing because if you own one of these, you're going to constantly need to weld up cracks that are going to come just from metal fatigue. Then you don't have to scrap the old parts all the time. :-)) It can be learned and is do able. Part of restoration is picking up skills along the way. ;-)
We do have a Tig available to us. The issue is the base has to many cracks. The issue is a common one with the design. The mirror is an easy fix with a Tig.
@@twofeathersrv Find someone with a 3D scanner to make a CAD file and then it can be CNC'd
@@twofeathersrv You may want to get ahold of Scott at the Bus Grease Monkey TH-cam channel. He has ALL the connections for parts on these buses. He specializes on repairing and rescuing silversides. Best 2 stroke Detroit mechanic in the country. th-cam.com/users/avonpicturethis
We know Scott very well and Tyler. We have a few connections as well. Most of us owners are working together to make parts for the buses or have the knowledge to repair them. Scott was to come up a year ago to give a hand on the mechanicals but was not able to make due to time. He has more people on the list then he can handle. It's a good problem to have. We will be supplying Tyler with some silverside parts for his bus when we meet up.
Any idea on cost thanks
The cost of the wire and connectors needed we expect to be approximately 1800.00
@@twofeathersrv how does that compare to using non custom wrapped wires?
The key factor is access to the many color combinations we require. It is modern wire that has been wrapped in cloth such as the original. I would say there may be a 10 % increase overall. Our local wire suppliers did not offer enough options of colors. This company, we have used for the vintage wiring for 20 years now. Prior to this company, we made wiring harness for various cars and trucks.
TwoFeathers RV Yep ,interested to see how big of a job it is to do .....definitely worth it in the long run
The dents at the front on either side of destination sign I believe r usually from drivers hitting like a overhead awning at some bus depots..covered area for people to walk to buses when load. Unless the all hit the same trees. Seen many with same dents. Seen same on 4104's
It is very possible. This bus was stationed in Detroit and traveled to Indiana when it was first put into service. From there we know it ended service in Northern Ny and ended up in Northern Vermont before it went to its second owner. The type of dents were not ones that would have taken much of a hit to create. So small tree branches or like you said. The overhead signs. Looking at historic photos. It looks as if there would be plenty of clearance.
i think casting a couple of these mirror bases would be helpful to other owners. Maybe even get it machined? would never break again
Lots of hard work!!!!
pretty cool that the front is still very original, and the back seat, and the ceiling panels. Certainly a cool project
We were shocked how original it is. Maybe a future bus for us. Hmmm. Got to get one done first.
Miller High Life fan!!!! Thanks!
so many silversides project going on right now. when will it reach critical mass?
Because of the BusGreaseMonkey page. It seems to have helped elevate the demand a bit. We have two under construction at this time. The second one is private ownership. We do not have plans right now on posting any videos of it. It will also be a slow project. One of our employees purchased it from the shop. These buses have such great style and with 12 mpg. it is above most buses that only get 6 mpg that are from the later 60s and newer. And who can beat a stylish bus as these. Gotta love them.
Great job team! Looks super!! Keep up the good work Brian, Jill & Ray!
Love what you are doing!
For the hit the bus took it held up well. Our 3751 has a dent in the top also from the previous owner's tree. Best of luck picking up the pieces.
We will be taking video this week as long as the weather holds out. I guess another video to show the repairs? LOL just more work. You can say well over 1000 pounds of weight from that tree.
This bus still for sale?? If So what it take to get some info on it?
Yes, It is available. You can contact our office at 413 223 5416 m to f 10 am to 4 pm eastern time.
@@twofeathersrv thank you
That's some incredible stuff. I've tried a lot of products and never seen anything work this fast and efficiently. I bet it would work great on the steel wheels. I wonder if it would clean the grease and oil in the engine bay? Thanks for the video!!!!!
I can tell you that we have used the stripper in the drivers area. Because the step liner is removed. There is some grease there. Our 55 gal. drum arrived today from St. Louis, Mo and we just ordered it on Monday! It came faster then the pump from Amazon...lol We will try it on the grease for you and see. May be an idea for stripping the motor for repainting?? Hmmmm.. Great Idea...Thanks
@@twofeathersrv Thanks so much. I appreciate it.
