You can use bondo to fill it. 👍
@@handymanhaynes I think I used an epoxy mixture with fiberglass mesh backing.
Woooow, those are great results. Ours only came down to about .8 pCi. In the winter it definitely goes over 1 pCi.

The condensate contains some fairly strong(Carboxylic) acid (as well as some weaker acids) during the colder months when the furnace is running if it's a non-electric system combusting any fuel. During the months when it's running A/C only, it will create Nitric Acid and potentially other acids depending on how polluted the ambient atmosphere is. Your plumbing is going to suffer heavy corrosion. To address this, you can plumb in an acid neutralizer (I use a custom made one containing limestone medium) that also partially addresses the concern of @DeWittArchibald -- depending on how you design the neutralizer, it can serve as the deep trap they referenced. I learned this the hard way. The had a High Efficiency system installed and the installers didn't use acid resistant fittings on the condensate line -- they dissolved entirely in less than 12 months -- causing some minor flooding (and concrete pitting on my basement slab).
@@Uberbob1984 appreciate that info, very useful. I'm redoing it I guess.
I don't know where you are located, but in out jurisdiction condensate drains CANNOT be installed into drain, waste and vent systems. The reason being, is that there is a possibility of your shallow trap running dry and you will pull gases beck into the return side of the duct system. On a fan coil unit the condensate drain is on the negative side of the blower, thus creating a vacuum. You should install a deep trap that will stay wet all the time from some other fixture or use a pump to reject the water to the same location.
@@DeWittArchibald thank you so much for that information. This was already hooked up to the house drain though , albeit thru a condensate pump to vent stack.
Thank you, yes it will be cut out.
It's not advisable to cobble things together in a closed up wall like that. You gonna remediate the black mold or just leave that also?

Ok. thank you.
Hi, I have the exact same furnace setup as in this video, with the same HSC ignitor / lockout control module. I'm wondering do you know how to test that the control module is working? On mine, it never produces a spark anymore to the pilot assembly so my furnace cannot turn on. I replaced the control module, but that didn't help either. I'm wondering now if it's because 24V is somehow not being supplied anymore to the control module. On the plug that connects to the control module, I measured the voltage between the middle connectors that plug into pins 5 and 2 on the control module when heat is supposed to come on. Should this measure 24V? I get a very small voltage instead like .3V.
The board should have 24vac. Bad transformer, check output.
Would you know whether the way I tried to measure the voltage using the connectors of the plug (that goes into the ignitor control board) is proper? That there should be 24V across the middle connectors of the plug? Don't really know much about transformers. Is it typically inside the furnace or could be located outside? And how to check the transformer output with a multimeter? Thanks for any advice.
@@dcccs trace wire from furnace switch/power supply, should first go to transformer. Test 2 lead wires after it, should be 24v
@@dcccs or look for the thermostat wires, tester on AC, probe r and c , should be 24v

Yeah back in the 90s they shut you off now without coming out to your house.
Bullshit, digital/ smart meters are tethered together through their own WiFi. I'm an electrician and have had to do emergency call jobs. One was a tire shop that didn't pay their utility bill. The meter read off on the digital display. The owner called the utility company and payed over the phone. In less than 15 minutes they had power.
Clearly they didn't have a digital "smart" meter, Christ all mighty dude chill out

I think I mark the position of the valve at full flow in the video with a black marker. Aligned that straight with pipe.
Thank you for a quick reply. Your video is very clear with instructions. My problem is i cant turn it counterclockwise any more to make the water hotter. If i make a slight adjustment the other way no problem , the water gets cooler.
@@1kavadarac640 so you removed the ring and turn it all the way counterclockwise and it's still not hot enough? And water temp in water heater is all the way to high? Then either it's defective or there is flow restriction somewhere. Check cold water supply to water heater.
@@dyilandlord3518 You are correct,i removed the ring and turned maximum counterclockwise and the water heater is set to maximum heat. Everything else seems to work fine. I am thinking that maybe something is not working with the valve
