The Geri-Antics in Africa - Our Botswana Adventure
Botswana is one of the most popular wildlife destinations in Africa. We joined a safari tour group and worked our way through the magnificent water world of the Okavango Delta and the Chobe River, with wild animals in abundance, paid hommage to the magnificent Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, and watched the sun set over the endless horizon of the Makgadikgadi Pans.

Quirky, Everyday Japan
มุมมอง 2335 หลายเดือนก่อน
Japan is a fascinating country and we "bag-dragged" our way throughout the different areas and towns long enough to peek just a little below the usual tourist top layer and experience some of the nuances of Japanese everyday life. In this Vlog, the last in our series of "Geri-antics in Japan", we share a wrap up of some of the things we found fabulously quirky during our memorable time over the...
Singapore: A Small Country with a Big Place in the World
มุมมอง 40K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
We were absolutely mesmerised by Singapore. And our amazement started before we even left the airport! Terminal 1 & 2 with their record-breaking waterfalls (one real, one digital, both jaw-dropping), are worth seeing all by themselves. Singapore is an uber-modern country where everything runs like digital clockwork. There was something to see at every turn. Whether we were staring at the hundre...
Nagano: The world famous Snow Monkeys, and the sacred Zenko-ji Temple
มุมมอง 1.5K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Geri-Antics head into the Japanese mountainous Hinterland to Nagano, home to the fascinating and famous Snow Monkeys. We also visited the ancient Zenko-ji Buddhist Temple, a most sacred of temples. It has been an important pilgrimage stop between Kyoto and Tokyo for centuries, and still opens its doors to over a million visitors and pilgrims every year. Intriguingly, it is said to house the...
Sapporo: Place of Beautiful Ski Mountains, incredible Ramen ... and a Chocolate Factory!
มุมมอง 55011 หลายเดือนก่อน
With Autumn very much in the crisp air, we head to our northernmost destination - Sapporo, on the island of Hokkaido. Surrounded by mountains, this beautiful city is quite different to any of the cities on the main island of Honshu. The scenery, the people, the local food - are all distinctly "northern" in its experience. And of course, we had to visit Shiroi Koibito Park, Sapporo's Disney-like...
Yokohama - and the longest day travelling on Shinkansens!
มุมมอง 2.7K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
We headed to Yokohama to attend "International Jewellery Tokyo" trade show. To get there we spent an entire day on Japan's fabulous fascinating Shinkansens. Who knew jumping on and off Bullet Trains could be this stressful! Once at our destination, we were amazed at then energy and buzz of this thoroughly modern city and port.
Nagasaki: The Beautiful City with a Big Heart
มุมมอง 460ปีที่แล้ว
When you hear the name "Nagasaki", thoughts go immediately to the tragedy of 1945 when the city fell under the second atomic bomb. The Atomic War Museum and poignant Peace Memorial Park have to be seen, but it is also a place of sea and mountains and fascinating history.
Fukuoka: Capital of Kyushu & Gateway to Asia
มุมมอง 573ปีที่แล้ว
Fukuoka is in northern Kyushu. As a port, and the largest city on that island, is regarded as Japan's "Gateway to Asia". An exciting and modern 21st century city, it also has a warm sense of community.
Miyajima: A Magical & Sacred Island
มุมมอง 905ปีที่แล้ว
A short ferry ride from Hiroshima, Miyajima is a place of pure magic, especially if you stay on into the night after all the daytime tourists have left! The floating giant Tori gate and Itsukushima shrine are astonishing for their beauty and air of sacred history, the wild 'Nihonjika' deer are literally everywhere ... and Mount Misen is worth the climb!
Hiroshima & Himeji Castle: Poignant and Memorable
มุมมอง 793ปีที่แล้ว
We found our visit to Hiroshima's Peace Park and the Memorial Museum to be profoundly moving. But what we also discovered was a beautiful, gentle city. We explored the area's early history with a visit to both Hiroshima Castle and the magnificent "White Heron" castle (Himeji). If you want to hear more of the exquisite music we used, put @cuijianghui into the TH-cam search bar. Her performances ...
Kanazawa: A City That Suprises!
มุมมอง 1.2Kปีที่แล้ว
Kanazawa was such a wonderful surprise to us! Not on the regular list for most tourists, we fell in love with this characterful "Castle City" with its acres of park and gardens, old world geisha district, uber modern 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art and hi-tech Shinkansen station.
Takayama Autumn Festival & the Japanese Alps
มุมมอง 2.5Kปีที่แล้ว
We head into the mountainous Hida region in time for the Autumn Festival in Takayama. The float procession dates back hundreds of years and is ranked one of Japan's most beautiful and sacred festivals. We also headed into Japan's "Alps" to Kamikochi.
Experiencing Kyoto: Kimonos, Geishas, tea ceremonies and history ... and fabulous food!
มุมมอง 2.8Kปีที่แล้ว
Kyoto is quite unlike any other place we have experienced in Japan. Its fascinating history is deeply entrenched and easy to see and touch. A place of sounds, colour, beauty, traditions, spirituality and heart. Unforgettable! We so enjoyed our "Geisha walking Lecture" with Peter Macintosh. His knowledge and perspective is quite unique. Here is a link to Peter's documentary. th-cam.com/video/pmH...
Osaka - Ancient city with a very Modern Top ... and Nara, place of sacred and cheeky deer!
มุมมอง 2Kปีที่แล้ว
Historically, Osaka was Japan's first true metropolis with a bustling merchant-focused economy. Today, it is high tech and super-modern, but dig a little and you'll find its beautiful history is just below the surface! It's an exciting city, with contradictions and contrasts at every turn. We also visit the beautiful little city of Nara and meet up with the famous sacred and definitely cheeky, ...
Mt Fuji - in all its wonder - and the city of Fuji.
มุมมอง 1.5Kปีที่แล้ว
We've headed further south - and west - on the Japanese main island of Honshu to spend a couple of days in the presence of Mt Fuji. So deeply part of the Japanese history and culture, this sacred mountain is the very symbol of the country. To follow our adventures through the East, find us on @Geri-Antics-bj1iz.

❤❤❤
Very underrated channel! Excellent video quality! Here's hoping the algorithm helps you all!
Such a lovely way to encapsulate your incredible trip in a final video. Thank you so much. Lots of love.

How many times can you visit the waterfall at the airport, or visit the Botanic Garden I and II? As I said it is a tourist paradise. But for the locals, life is kind of boring. There is no place to go. And everything costs money, including parking.
Please do Singapore a big favour - migrate to wherever suits you better
Boring to you but not to others. I feel blessed to live in this safe, clean and well organised boring country.
Singapore is a fun place to visit, but not to live in. It is boring after a while, like a week. And it is incredibly hot and humid.
Ronny's Karenland
Family that live in Sentosa must be very rich family who can afford to live in there😂
Great views from Singapore.
FANTASTIC STUFF
A refreshing view of Singapore.

I like go back to Vietnam for holiday, not Singapore! Vietnam airport staff very friendly and helpful!
Thank you for not coming to Singapore. We don't need people like you to come😊
RACIST ! Rude people
Wow, this is probably one of the best, if not the best YT video about Singapore, and I have tons. Congratulations. I am a Singaporean and consider myself rather well informed and am learning a few more things about Singapore!
Wow, thank you!
Pathetic to resort to propaganda to promote sinking reputation with the ruling govt abusive of human rights of her citizens. This podcast highlight shallow infrastructure aimed to suck money from foreigners and brainless locals. The city state lack admirable culture, humanity values, quality lifestyle based on personal and innovation and intellect that is not marketable internationally. The leadership is authoritarian and thin skin incapable of handling criticism but use brutal tyranny to bankrupt the critic and employing political persecution. Other than steel and concrete Singapore and the govt is void of inspiration and energy to live a happy life. As an international city the sad case of a sheltered community the majority of its people cannot speak proper English but localized singlish.
I love ur video. Ur accent and calm demeanor is simply so fab. The way you organize and present each segment is so magnetic. Definitely subscribing and watching more!😊
Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines NOW ! regard English speaking is very important .
Singapore absolutely has seasons, it has the hot season, the wet season and the really really really wet season.

Sentosa Cove, only the 'Atas' people could afford to live there 😂
ITS JEWEL, NOT T1, THANK YOU. HAVE A NICE DAY.
She's got a lot of places mis-spelled and misidentified the terminals in the airport too. Yeah, I guess she's not from around here huh? Let's appreciate her video from the perspective of a visitor who got too dazzled by what she witnessed to get these little details correct. Peace.
@@RahimRahmat Yeah, let's not quibble about details
@@Zz7722zZ I'll be honest, if she had spent some time here already, I'd be not too happy about the lack of attention to getting things right. She can be regarded as new here so guess we'd have to let it slide. On top of that, the older generation already have their difficulties using technology to their advantage. If she (or her husband) were the ones doing this editing, I already admire how far they have gotten with their tech skills. Heck, my own mom struggles with getting such things done, and she's already trying her darnest. Have to appreciate what we see here. So, if she doesn't get it all correct, I'd probably let it go, despite any annoyance I might have 😊.
Jewel was formerly the open air car park of T1 to be fair
Where is that bell located that was shown at the end of the video ?
Is at Mount Faber
@@cwlem8969 Thanks CW!
