She makes her clothing almost entirely by hand and tries to stick to historic crafting methods, as most of them serve a great functioning purpose and to keep the art alive. I’d rather watch a cosplayer do something similar to that, than simply 3d print their armor and helmets, use decals, and buy an expensive wig to revamp. If you have the ability to make a crazy accurate character and it makes sense to do so, why not? But plenty of characters are better captured by handmade items, I’d argue most of them.
