Tripoli Action 1950 John Payne, Maureen O'Hara, Howard Da Silva
The U. S. Marine Corps hymn starts with"From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli", and this film's story purports to be the reason why, and is give or take a few incidents in this movie: It is 1805 and the Tripoli pirates have challenged America's right to freedom of the seas---all of them, anywhere---so United Stares warships were sent to that port to bottle up their fleet and set the riff-raff right concerning who could sail where. (History begins to suffer a bit along about this point.) A U. S. Marine unit, headed by Lieutenant O'Bannon, was sent to attack them from the rear. He organized his unit around Hamet, Pasha of Tripoli, in exile after being overthrown by his brother. In Hamet's court was Sheila D'Arneau, a diploma's daughter, who disguises herself as a dancing girl, and joins the group of eight U. S. Marines and Hamet supporters in their march across the Libyan desert. O'Bannon and Shelia argue all the way to Tripoli.

I watched this in the 1960's thought it was good but imagined it was just Hollywood but just watched it again in 2024 and read up about it, they did attack with a force of 8 men! The film is largely true what a daring action.

I'm being admired to the movie Lion Of The Desert that'd being happened when the Italian soldiers had been invaded the Libya but they'd being resistant by local Arabic people that'd being lead by the religious teachers where he'd being managed to assemble the locals resistance group to fight against the Italian fascist army by the brilliant and cunning ambushed strategy. But the Italian fascist army lead by their experienced general had been used the given the cheese to attract the cunning desert mouse that'd being silently hidden in the many cave that's connected by the tunnel deeply in the rock mountains and it'd being hardened for soldiers to seek for them that's might get the easy targeted for the resistance shooters to kill them. So he'd being sent a small convoy of the soldiers to get close to the cave as the baits of cheese just to see on.which.cave the desert mouse had being the hidden hole as they come out when they'd being smelled the cheese but didn't ever realized that's there's the group of the Italian artillery cannons had being ready to blast on their disposal hidden cave hole position. But the resistance leader had being a little sick and given the responsible for the decision making to his assistance that'd being too roughly when he'd being seen the convoy of the enermy get close to them simply called their own death without sending the scouts to make the further observation he'd being ordered the resistance groups to get out and kills the enermy. The artillery cannons blasted explosion had being awaken their sick leader but it'd being too late bcoz all's the resistance had been came out from the cave, it'd being the bloodied battlefield for the resistance when they'd being surrounded by the Italian soldiers from every angle. Their leader the religious teachers had been captured by the Italian soldiers and had been charged in the military court of the accused for the leading the Libyan people to rebel against the Italian fascist army. The military court had been sentence him to be hang up until confirmed dead. The Italian General had being solute these man's courage and bravery as the independence idol's by called the Omar Mokhtar as The Li🦁n's Of The 🏜️ Desert's.!!!!⚔️!!!

Always liked Maureen O'Hara. She was very good friends with John Wayne. Her last movie that I saw with her in it was the one with John Candy, where he was a fireman. She was still a beautiful woman. 🎦

I can't believe that studder so much about Maureen O'Hara. She is pretty, but not beautiful and she is old and heavy even in the picture she has huge waste and butt. The dancers are prettier than her.

I noticed in the special effects that the sandstorms are actually light smoke. Sand of that caliber would not be tolerable to the actors and horses and mules. It would get into the nasal cavities and throats of everyone.

Interesting, either in reality or in movies, the US ate always willing in cooperating with and abusing of local "imperial" warlords to reach their aims. In reality the shah of persia, gaddhaffi, saddam hussein, osama bin laden, hosni mubarak ... an endless list is possible. If russia or china returns to be kingdoms even they would be acceptable, even with the same personal staff. 😂 And always it ends in blood sheding and damnation of the former allies as evil devils. .... They'll never learn.
