In their recent vlog, while performing at the Hope concert, she purposely rapped louder and with more emphasis over the back track, and she did the same thing when this part of the song came on. Nothing wrong with a backtrack as long as the back track isn't louder than the live singing/rapping and is not used for lipsyncing. XG is doing it right.

I'd rather have a backtrack if it was me. I'm not a singer or famous but I realized when I'm singing to a song with its actual full lyrics and all that in it I do a lot better. But if it's just the music playing I don't do as well.

It's not hard to tell when Maya is rapping live and imo the live vocals usually sound better because she is a born idol and loves performing/attention.

Chisa didn't rely on a back track when sick put your headphones on and you can hear every breath in the mic. Everyone in history has used backtracks during an active performance. The problem is when groups have the backtrack with the mics off because they really can't sing and are just plants. Xg is extremely talented and doing it all better than anyone. There's a lot that goes into a good live performance and it's ultimately what groups are judged on so certain measures have to be taken. They play a lot of shows and it can be hard on your vocals. They are singing and rapping live you should recant your last statement.

They sing/rap with backtrack but Maya made sure that listeners know the difference between when there’s only backtrack vs when they sing live on top of the backtrack… With her rapping live the voice is just louder. We can hear her live voice clearly. I don’t have problem with backtrack. My problem with idol groups these days (NOT XG) is that the backtrack is so loud we can barely hear the live voice.

The video CGI effects and editing are so superior to anything else being put out there. The only thing I can criticize is Harvey's NEO's matrix bullet stopping sequence. When you freeze frame the scene, you see that the bullets being fired by the drones are the full cartridge (bullet and casing) rather than just the projectile(bullet). What is mind blowing is that unless you use freeze frame, you can absolutely miss visuals and effects that pass in milliseconds. Harvey is the flower assassin!

You should change the title of your video to the song's name first!! It was hard to find. ur thumbnail wasnt clear either 😅

almost every artist have backing track but less or more subtle. In korea shows is a "standard" to have a backing track for EVERY performance because it makes the uploads more easier to edit, i was live in one KBS and i could hear the back track more than the singer because the public are loud so it's easier to "clean" the noise with higher voice volume, but for some singer this "higher" means a back track

I was hoping for another track from the mini-album but didn't expect it to be the Woke Up remix. Sort of disappointed. With their US tour about to start next month, I was hoping to see and hear one of the other featured release tracks from the album. The remix may be used in the concert but probably to fill in while the girls are doing a wardrobe change.

I had the same thoughts as you with the UFO at the end. I saw the name jay park and the others in that remix that Jakob’s DJ’d. But I’m curious if there are other artists included in the new remix

6:16 is the only time not all of them are moving and it's only for 3 seconds. Like everything is the opposite compared to Woke Up, even their dance choreography. Woke Up had so many separate parts in their choreography where every member would just stand to the side waiting to come back in

It's a live rap, you can clearly hear her voice, but yes it has a backing track. Not sure why people in 2024 are complaining about this when it's been standard in every music industry for 30 years.

I feel like being accused of not performing live vocals is a right of passage at this point, even though backing vocals have been common in kpop for a long time. It's this weird irony and I feel like listeners are too cruel to the idols. I can't even tell if it's fans or haters anymore. I'm not criticizing XG or any other kpop group, it just hurts to see. XG is killing it by performing live, but like that one time when Chisa was sick and relied on backing vocals, I get the idea that people saw it as a weakness and took it as a reason to hate. The entitled and gatekeepy nature of kpop fans never fails to make me feel awful and unhappy.

I'm glad you posted this, i noticed the same thing and thought it was so sick. Also wanted to mention that they all use really unique and god-tier vocal mixing and engineering that they can't replicate exactly on her live "dry" voice input. They layer them so you can still hear the original vocal processing but thickened up with her live voice instead of sounding too hollow without it because we'd already be used to how it sounds in the original recordings
