Incredibly I was just reflecting on this, that I can, now, include the same compassion and willingness to accept others for myself, that its about looking after this self with same care and goodwill. Thank you Ayya 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I feel like there should be more instruction on how to generate the feelings you instruct to embody. Most can't simply generate compassion or joy on demand. What do you suggest?
interesting questions i empathize with the pollution problem in mexico i do understand that problem in latin america. I do not believe in any version on the bible, i think that book could inspire people to have a big ego about what it is truth, wrong and right. Buddhism its more open to others than does religion who came from the same root.
Beautiful, thank you Ayya 🙏
Thank you Ayya for yet another wonderful guided meditation. You are my 'go-to' ☺️🙏🙏
More greetings and gratitude from Ireland 🙂 Wonderful meditation and talk, thank you Ayya 🙏
Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🌷💗💕
I think that after discovering this way and visiting Thailand as a tourist I will always think in my head what it will be like to live in a country of this path. I wonder what would change
Nice chant, Namo buddhaya, namo dhammaya, namo sanghaya
Thank you
Fabulous, thanks Ayya. I just had a really wonderful, noteworthy meditation 🙏🙏
Brilliant. Thanks Ayya 🙏
🙏 Thank you. There doesn't seem to be many Dhamma talks on patience out there. This was wonderful
You know before meeting with the buddhist teachings i used to ask myself why im here with this people if we dont get it? We just dont understand each other. Some people thinks so different, you are a theravada buddhist nun have you ever experienced this with other people, i think if you become a bhikkhuni its because your views are not the same as most american women think and i admire that its hard to get out of the box sometimes.
Interesting meditation the Asubha meditation Patikulamanasikara is a Pāli term that is generally translated as "reflections on repulsiveness". It refers to a traditional Buddhist meditation whereby thirty-one parts of the body are contemplated in a variety of ways. In addition to developing sati (mindfulness) and samādhi (concentration), this form of meditation is considered conducive to overcoming desire and lust. Along with cemetery contemplations, this type of meditation is one of the two meditations on "the foul" or "unattractive" (Pāli: asubha). In the Sampasadaniya Sutta (DN 28), Ven. Sariputta declares that meditating on these 31 body parts leads to "the attainment of vision, in four ways", and briefly outlines how this method can be used as a springboard by which one "comes to know the unbroken stream of human consciousness that is not established either in this world or in the next". In addition, in the Iddhipāda-samyutta's Vibhanga Sutta (SN 51.20), this meditation subject is used to develop the four bases of power (iddhipāda) by which one is able to achieve liberation from suffering. As i read all this information in my experienced hearing your voice, i think not to overcoming the desire and lust but my contemplation was more about mater, body and the conscience that forms my existence in this world, sometimes i think its not connected very well its not that i hate myself this mater but i think we are separated as i think about my conscience its different from the religious group of people this body and mater i was made, its not the same and i have to say that my mom and father got marriage by force not because my mom wants to get marriage,in younger years she left him when she travel to italy and the ego self of my father convince my grandma to look for my mom and now they are divorced and sometimes i think thats a answer of this meditation samadhi and sati. Im not connected in mater, body and conscience and i think people around makes it also difficult because as you know, you live in USA and i live in Latinamerica its worse than USA i know majority its biblical but in your country you have more buddhist options. This is lonely in my country because we dont have Theravada temple in Panama and buddhism its not popular with the citizen so they might think im a weird guy or whatever they said.😂whatever it doesnt matter meditation its good contemplation about the self
Well said, May All Beings Benefit!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I like this subject and they way you explained, I live in latin america so in my country i have a tantric buddhist chinese temple and Nichiren buddhism, i learn buddhism in the chinese temple but the friendship and community social activity its not good enough i practice that buddhism for more than 7 years but suddenly as i get into deep meditation practices, i was like meditating all the time in my early years in that temple and doing research on my internet about buddhism and buddhist countries i finally feel the enlightened to my life not in china but in Thailand,so i travel there in 2018 and i was in love with the theravada community in that country everything so kind,so polite,so beautiful, everything was happy, peaceful i feel like new rebirth, a new discovery in my life, my days in Thailand the condiotioning was skillful but all that ended and i had to come back went i came back i did not feel the need to go to the tantric temple anymore. i feel i will go to the old version of myself,i feel i will be the old tantric pattern of buddhism i used to be and also the comunity there doesnt help much, everything was the same and i get bored i feel theravada buddhism its the way for me but in my country we dont have a theravada temple. i dont want to return to that chinese buddhism, should i go back?(just because there isnt much buddhism in my country) By the way i copy some words you said here that makes me think about my life and buddhism. If you dont mind i might translated in Thai, japanese, icelandic, italian maybe mongolian, cambodian, bhutanese, norwegian, danish and swedish to shared with others your views on the theravada buddhism. Can i ask you a question whats the meaning of Santusikka? Thank you may the buddha bless your enlightened with him Your words in this teachings about Karma: "Doing things most of the time on automatic pilot being motivated by our patterns, you could say thats our karmic pattern if we are not aware,we can often just follow track that has been laid down in our consciousness perhaps even over lifetimes and we are not really aware whats happening like we think we are making the choices but we are actually just choosing again in alignment with what we are used to." "Understanding the pattern came somewhere in the past and then once we are aware then we can really take steps to change it.You know the buddha gives us many teachings about that and its good to think about how regardless or whatever has happened before or whatever is arising in the present moment we always have options.Theres always something we can do if we pay attention if our mindfulness its strong enough to make us aware and if we are following old patterns that are skillful !hooray¡ And this life can be about creating new patterns that are skillful and putting ourselves in situations where the conditioning is skillful." "Karma its interesting because there are actually some ways we used that word. Think about the whole idea of karma that are different from the buddha taught, maybe in asian countries there can be this idea or some branches of buddhism that everything is caused by karma or past actions but the buddha said thats not the case. He said that illness comes its not because you did anything wrong, you know it doesnt arise from past actions is part of just been born into the human body" Ayya Santusikka😉🙏

Thank you so much, Ayya. Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu from Portland, Or.
Does anyone know the original source of this chant? Is it from the Pali canon itself, or was it developed later on?

Let me tell you why its hard for them to understand. My experienced in life tells me that as you might know we come from the same believes system and roots, people believes in a jewish god that it is a cloud in the sky and his son that dies more than 1000 years ago who said that no one can save you if you dont believe him. Its a selfish idea if you think about it and its a bad karma to live with people who thinks this is truth. Today I had a discussion with a christian protestant men on the street he ask for money I tell him I do not have to give, my mom gives him and he start to preach me that I should ask god for a job and that maybe im doing something wrong and go to his church to convert and change my life. I said ok so you tell me that the only way for me its your church to find help but if I dont want you wont give any help, so you dont learn to be a good men in your religión you have to invited people to your church, so this is the selfish idea that we got in the western minds and it happened to me all the time everytime im in a bad situation. We live with a selfish cloud god that controls everything who tells everyone who is the leader here and his son who said no one is save only if you believe in the jewish son of god. I call the jewish christian believers A. M. C. P. (association for the manipulation to control the population) theres no wisdom in this society, theres is no karma wisdom. When you live in a big cloud in the western societies. I ask myself sometimes how can I move forward with the karma retribution if everybody its in the same cloud. My conscience its already in a different state its not the same anymore I travel to 🇹🇭 and i love the life there, i practice buddhism for more than 7 years and i still believe even in my country, we dont have theravada Temple, we have tantric chinese and nichiren daishonin but I dont care my conscience tells me the cloud way its not me anymore. I am not a cloud
