Hi what seat base did you actually use great idea want to do mine

Its a VW single seat base. I think it may be a left hand drivers seat base with the hand brake mount removed.

Ironically fitting has been delayed due needing the bench seat for a trip to Wales this weekend. Hopefully I will be able to get it sorted next weekend.

Air is supposedly the best for ride quality.

Highly recommend the SoLow NSLs paired with the H&R anti roll bars.

@@GS04WAL thanks, did you use the same for the slats?

It was different stuff but if I was doing it again I would go to Ikea and get the curved bed slats they use on their flat pack beds. I've heard that they are much more comfortable.

Try the volume button, its a wonderful invention.

Likewise, spent an hour pulling my hair out with it. In the end I had to flex it into place and get the missus to hold it while I fired the screws in quickly. In my youth, I used to fit £60 K&N kits to my Astra SXI that went on with no such issues. Sounds good though.

Did you get the Meyle top mounts? I have the H&R anti roll bars sat in the garage with a set of Powerflex bushes waiting to be fitted. Can't wait to see how they improve the handling further. I'll be doing a road test video over easter.

@@Iain1107 Have the black series bushes effected the ride quality? Has it made the ride harsh? Your the first person I've come across that has fitted black series. Very curious to know what they are like.

@GS04WAL haven't had her out long enough to notice tbh, I'm on 275s so there's a bit of a scrub on full lock, but she looks the dogs danglers

I think my throttle response has improved slightly with it. HP seems to be the same after running it for a while now. The noise is a bit of a draw back, obviously you want something but its nothing like the K&N's I fitted to non turbo petrol engines when I was a kid.

I would get one, I’m pleased with mine. That said it’s not for everyone but then again they are welcome to get a lift in someone else’s van. One point I make in the video I would revise is the performance gain. I say there isn’t any but after 8-9 months I would say there is a slight improvement in throttle response.

@@GS04WAL Ive always had them in my cars and always done performance stuff to them but never even thought about it in the van, new intercooler the air filter and maybe some exhaust mods be great 👍🏽

@@Ryanlewi17 Yeah I’m going to get an exhaust system at some point. Would love an intercooler as well but nobody does an upgraded one for the CXGB engine. I’d love stick Darkside Development’s GTB turbo upgrade on with a new set of injectors but would need a gearbox upgrade first. I continue to purchase lottery tickets.

You do have to slow down a bit more than normal for humps and stuff but I accept that making big changes to the spec of the van means I will inevitably have to change the way I drive. Its worth it to be able to go round corners much quicker. I’ve got the H&R anti roll bars in the garage waiting to be fitted so it’ll be on rails when those go on.

Not for the rears, I get one when using full beam on the front but my headlight clusters came from Vanstyle not Transporter HQ

@@GS04WAL that’s great to know! Do they soak up rough ground ok? ARB’s are in my hit list but I’ll be happy to just resolve my current teeth shaking ride lol. I was more than happy with koni at first but somethings failed in them. looks good lower too!

@@davem4131 They are great, I'm running them 10mm off the bottom and they have bottom out a couple of times but I can drive around that. Depending on what stance you want I would consider the SOLOW LOW if you want to go lower than me. I also found that switching from a 275/40/20 tyre to a 275/35/40 improved the right quality on its own.

Ceramic snow foam so not a full blown ceramic coating. First time I've used it, seems to perform well. Usually use either a spray wax or spray sealent of some kind.

The rail is screwed in to the roof panel. The roof panel is 3mm ply not the factory panel. My rail lines up with the trim piece that separates the panel from the cabin headliner.

The installation was carried by Crows Garage, Pogmoor, Barnsley.

On the front I set them 10mm off the bottom so 85mm on the front. The garage then matched the rears up.

Running a 275/35/20, no rubbing at all

They are the Vanstyle ones but they show a warning light when using full beam. If I was buying noew I would buy the Transporter HQ ones.

I had the same thoughts about dealers fitting them and then charging silly money. I think the H&R anti roll bars are a must for me now, I would be interested the here how you get on with them. Also looking at Porsche Macan brakes.

@@GS04WAL I will let you know 👍🏻. The only issue is, I’m having both fitted at the same time so I won’t know how each perform individually. Mitch @ HQ said upgraded antiroll bars are the best improvement that can be made to a suspension set up, this convinced me to get it all done at the same time.

Changed from a 275/40/20 to a 275/35/20 before I fitted the NSLs. There was a noticeable improvement in ride quality just by switching tyre.

@@GS04WAL I am on 275/40r20 atm, I am going to try out 245/40r20, it is same diameter as your current ones, it should also help with turning and rolling resistance. I need to see that low 40s mpgLOL.

Cheers, wheels are Wolfrace Evokes, I don’t think they make them anymore. Video coming at the end of August on them. Had a few issues.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I'm not going to worry about it. No sports exhaust on mine but its something I might do over the winter along with a re-map.

​@gregwalton14 How's the fuel economy doing, went from K&N to stock filter and noticeable difference on amount of trips to the pump !! Although do miss the slight noise and couple of horses I have lost 😅

It wasn’t designed as such, it sort of evolved inside the space that was left after the bed was finished. The mantra was to make the bed as comfortable as possible and then just use up whatever space was left.

Its not fixed down. I take it out so I can still use the space for cargo if required. Its quite heavy so doesn't really shift around when driving. It would just need some angle brackets to fix it to the floor and sides if required.
