    Why is it that whenever I tell the supposed Reddit "progressives" that maybe we shouldn't despise the whole population of 144 million Russians because of the war then suddenly it's ok to lump such a gigantic group of people together? Why is it ok to make twitter memes about how all Russians are war-thirsty orcs? Why will people scrutinize you for mentioning Russia in any positive light, even if it had nothing to do with their current politics?

    I was a child of narcissist parent, I came from a very difficult life with him, and was homeless with him for a very long time in the past. At some point, I managed to escape him, and had to go great lengths to get away from him. I was lucky to have known the people that had helped me, and allowed me to stay with them. I went to go be with my extended family that had found me on the internet. They had not really been in my life before previously. They flew me in first class to go be with them. At first there was this honeymoon period, they thought of me as a gift from grandmother that passed away. But what seemed like a gift from the universe, only seemed to have been something that hurt me mentally and emotionally. I was only with them for 3 months because of how difficult they seemed to have been to live with, and now strict and conditional their love and regard was towards me. I felt like I couldn’t be loved or accepted for just the way I am, or that I had to constantly fit in to their idea of how I should live my life and be like to them. Thought of me as this some kind of flawed and inadequate kid. I would hear them say things like “but he wasn’t raised that way!” “oh it’s just gonna take time”, “I just think he just wasn’t raised properly” …and it felt like I had to constantly jump through hoops in order to be loved, and if I don’t, then it’s basically ‘bye peace out can’t live with your family’. To this day I feel this deep, inner wound of rejection and unworthiness that I carry each and every day. My aunt would ask this weird question “what are the advantages that you think you have of being here?” but in my mind I’m like ‘I didn’t come here just so I can gain some kind of material advantages, I came to have a life here with my family just like any other kid would with their families’. But I just told her “I don’t know” , and she replied “then why did you come live with us honey?” I had unfortunately received some invalidating comments from others that I’ve tried to speak to about my trauma, they’ve said things like “why should they love you” and “who are you and why should you be loved and cared for” and another person said “you don’t seem to realize that you’re wanting a warped and distorted image of your family” “you are not your brother” and I’ve basically been labeled as having some kind of “sense of entitlement”. Isn’t every kid or young person deserving of what I believe to be the most basic, simplest thing that any young person could have, which is a family home, or to simply live with one’s own blood relational family, in a home? With parents, caregivers, siblings, etc? Shouldn’t it be the norm and standard for every kid or young person? But for some reason, I’m being considered by some people as like bad, evil or reprehensible for trying to have that with my own family? I tend to think if my friends can live with their families, why can’t I live with mine? So in order for a kid or young person to live with his or hers own family they have to be born and raised into it? I once had a former friend who I thought would always be validating of my trauma, but he one time went against me and invalidated me and said; “Well they raised your brother!! They raised him and not you so he’s their kid!” and he laughed at me. And so after some years later I came to figure out, that perhaps the reason why I was treated the way I was treated by my family, was all because they raised my sibling and they never raised me. I can’t believe that, I went through that whole process, of getting away from my father, and finally got to my extended family after my whole life of them not being in my life and going through a nightmarish life with a narcissist father, only for it to, pretty much, backfire on me? all because ‘they raised him and not me’. So in order for a kid or young person to live with his or hers own family they have to be born and raised into it? I have had someone that recognized the validity of my feelings though, and that person said ‘how in the world can you not be allowed just the same if not more’. It’s incredibly sad and disheartening to me that, I go to my family expecting all the love and care in the world, only to seemingly be met with the opposite, I just don’t understand that if they can love and care for my brother all of his life, why can’t they do just the same for me? They bought a condo and now my brother is living in it for free… We never chose our parents. and I never chose this life…

    Most people have positive and negative energy. The negative energy must come out in some ways and most people do this by hate online but i don´t think it´s pure hate. It is just that negative energy that must be released or else people get frustrated. Some do martial art, some climb mountains or sports. There are so many people living alone in misery with no friends. See the negative energy as dirt and just wipe it off. The goal for haters is to offend people but if you just don´t care it cannot hurt you. You can turn off the comments if you like. No matter how beautiful you are or how good person u are there will always be haters.

    Yknow, usually videos like these are more like things I listen to in the background, but this video kind of really spoke to me particularly well today, not because I use TikTok (which holy shit I'm so glad I have enough mentality to not use it), but because I acted quite impatient today. A few things happened, and instead of sitting back and analyzing the situation, figuring everything out, making sure the information was correct, I was impatient and I overreacted in a situation where a conversation could have possibly made the whole thing a non-issue. So yeah, for the first time, and ironically it being you, Shmakoh, of all people, you actually got me to reevaluate myself to try and deal with the future better. Also I have to say, on a video about patience having somewhat long stretches of only wind blowing noise is very funny.

    I think the problem people have with love, is not that love is bad, or naive, or fake, or weird, or weak, or anything like that. It's that so many people grow up understanding love differently, and because of our bias towards ourselves, people either gain or loose respect for the idea of love based on how they've treated the love they've had and given. Love is like an instrument. You have to like it enough to want to try it, and you have to like it even more to let it become a part of you. Furthermore, there has to be an incentive to want to try loving well, and loving often. Society has wired us since childhood to misunderstand love, to think that love is an opposite to hate, when it's proven that an individual can feel something in between. That in between feeling has been used against us by so many outlets, whether it be individuals or collectives, that we tend to just throw that feeling into broad topic of morals, ethics, ideals, etc. We've grown up in a world where the concept of "sides" has been manufactured in such a way that it guides almost everything we do and think. We've grown up in a world where love is a statement, not a naturally occuring thing we are all capable of. And aside from society/social media's part, we also have our relatives and friends to thank for how we have come to feel about love and hate. Some are taken care of well, maybe too well in their childhood. Some are abused beyond recognition of what a child is supposed to be. Some lie in a limbo, maybe of the making of others, maybe of a making of their own. It is also the concept of choice, and how that concept is raised alongside the individual capable of it, that can be either a blessing or a curse towards one's perspective of love, hate, desire, passion, and all other emotions and everything else therein. Love is powerful because it is the result of immense and fruitful understanding, respect, intuition, and acceptance. It is the equivalent to building a pyramid, in that many, many layers of sustainable material are required to allow the structure to withstand all the world's challenges thus far, and not only remain intact, but gain recognition for its stability. In this world, many people who accept the concept of love perceive it as a basic power, something everybody should know. In that perception, if enough people understand it that way, it eventually becomes just that. Basic. Singular. Powerful, but incredibly fragile. It has the _potential_ to be the most powerful and durable thing in the world, but for that to happen, people need to see that this reality has the possibility to happen at all, and the only way it can is if we all start to collectively understand love as such. Durable, important, complex, and reliant on us and our care for it, to exist in the first place. The more we talk about hate, the more relevant it becomes. Just like literally anything we talk about. We need to give love the same spotlight, because as things stand now, powerful people love hating things so much that they forgot what it means to love anything else. (To anyone who read all of that and made it this far, thanks for doing so. Shmakoh, if you're reading this, I think it's a crime that this video didn't please the algorithm as much as it should, and I think that says alot about how social media is geared towards certain things, certain trains of thought. You're a good person, and I wish you all the joy and love you deserve. ❤)

    • @Shmako1
      @Shmako1 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That was an amazing read. Thank you for that! I understand the depth and complexity of love, but I also understand it's simplicity. At the end of the day it takes immense courage, because of all those things you stated. But if you're willing to be brave, you can begin loving immediately, regardless of circumstance.

    • @sinsofthelastdawn8942
      @sinsofthelastdawn8942 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Shmako1 Thanks for reading! You know, that's another thing. The act of loving is so incredibly simple. I mean, plenty of other animals less intelligent than us are capable of showing more love than some people I know. It doesn't take a lot to love deeply, and that's why I treat everything and everyone with it. It's just that the methods in which one group learns to love can vary greatly with another, and I think that's where this whole "hate trend" started in the first place. Not to say that there is a right way to love things, but that because of how multi-faceted we are as humans, and how our evolution pretty much depends on our ability to manipulate things more than any other species we know of, emotions are vulnerable to our creativity in both good and bad ways, and "good" as well as "bad" is arguably the most manipulated concept of all when it comes to our state as a collective voice. Most animals we see have pretty clear distinctions between good and bad across most of the population of their species. Humans, having gained such a consciousness as we have, are evolved with the ability to create beyond the level of anything else on this planet, not just because of our mind, but just with the inclusion of things like our hands. Having opposable thumbs and dexterous fingers, as well as generally flexible bodies, and most importantly, the ability to speak in the way that we do, has given us so many avenues to advance, that it has not only advanced the physical world, but the conscious world too. Simply having the ability to use our bodies as we have since we learned to use them in such ways has changed our consciousness in unimaginably drastic ways compared to other animals. If it weren't for our ability to manipulate the world around us, we would have similar concepts of love and hate to that of most other animals. It is what makes us distinct that makes understanding ourselves, as well as our actions, as ironically simple as we are complex. Balance is one of those things that is so undeniably real, yet so easily toyed with in the hands of, well, anything that has hands, and lives long enough to use them in ways that can allow for types of change such as the way we have changed our world. Moral of the story is: Love with all your heart for as long as you can. Someone out there needs that love, and we have the ability to share it with them. The world is an unforgiving place enough as it is. Action is a conduit for change, and change is a conduit to the future. Best be that the future is filled with good actions, and the world will become a good place for everything involved.

    No offence but this have been said hundred times before. Altough I basically agree, we should all guard ourself from becoming the tyrant, like the so called left obviously have become. But these notions are often used as arguments for "free" capitalism being the best social regulator, and against the idea of working specifically for things like public health care, living wages, economic distribution etc. Personally I find the idea that decent societies are solely created in the slip stream of free markeds is beyond stupidity.

    If we truly want peace, then we can't give ourselves no excuses. Plain and simple as that. But, looking at how the world is, I would say that this is not always within our human nature. Some people just their purpose through this as have those before for this biological sense to survive, but it is what ends up causing the suffering the most.

And the more ignorant, the more I judge them. Because I've come to the conclusion that narrow-mindedness is almost directly proportional to lack of self-reflection and (ignorant) immorality. Some times though, people do horrible things or allow them because they are more apathetic or willingly ignorant of the people their actions affect. Think of corporate types. Ive seen plenty of time where the average blue collar or min wager is screwed over, not because the higher ups believe they are good but rather they want more money or power and choose to drown out the cries of those below them because the weight of morality is too much of a burden for them to realize. Its also human nature that we work against when it comes to hatred and fear. Like everything in this video, i absolutely agree with it, but sadly its all way more complicated when it comes to understanding good/Evil. The best we can do is work on these things within ourselves first.

    Most were tricked. People are sheep with a mob mentality. The fact that they were tricked and live with the trick is why I hate people. Not because one faction or another tells me how to think. Simply seeing the actions of others and being able to judge them for what they are first hand has made me lose faith in humanity entirely. Hate probably isn't the right word but I am disappointed and depressed at the state of everything.

      @Shmako1 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I 100% understand what you're saying. It can be really disappointing at times, but I still think people deserve to be loved. The conditioning sucks, the propaganda sucks, the mob mentality sucks, but at the end of the day, the people always have good in them. And you always have the freedom to not let the hatred effect you personally <3

      @@Shmako1 They do but love and hate are two sides of the same coin. True hate can only come from a place of love. Good and bad is a dying concept when it comes to the perspective of people. It's a selfish world we inhabit and nothing any of us can do will ever be good enough every individual. Finding peace in ourselves is the only thing anyone can strive for but even that is a selfish concept. Freedom is part of the problem. We have free will to cause untold misery. Everyone gets to choose and those choices effect everything in our own spheres of reality. Peace is a struggle that doesn't come easy when you are effected by so much. I don't know if it makes it easier or not to know other people go through the same. If I could just be unhappy and everybody else was at peace it would be worth something but it's just life. It doesn't mean anything. The human experience and nature at work. ✌️

      @@extraplain2412 I think becoming loving and peaceful within yourself is the most selfless thing you can ever do. Definitely don't see that as a selfish thing! It's what will allow you to have the most positive change on other people's lives :)

    What helped me is thinking "somewhere out there there is going to be that good person that will help or heal me without wanting anything in return". Obviously there is no guarantee. And even if there were, the likelihood of meeting that person would be devastating. Still people come in all kinds and shapes and we often forget that. I found that thought was important so I wouldn't get angry at people who I knew were doing their best yet had their short comings and that I would remain proactive and not so full of resentment. We truly got caught in the trap to "hate people". Because rationally it's easy to get hung up on that one faulty brick in an otherwise beautiful (not perfect) wall.

    Wish more people would watch this video. I'm now approaching my 40s and it's something that I'm learning right now. The people who listen the least are those who are "sure they are on the right side" or think "at least I'm not as bad as this other person". Some philosopher said that "stupidity" is the root of all evil. There is some truth in it as in "most people forget themselves and judge others for what they don't do right themselves". But also a stupidity is not even necessary. Being smarter or "knowing what is right or wrong" doesn't make you less evil.

    • @Shmako1

      Thank you so much for this! I absolutely agree that most people aren't 'evil'. It is mostly ignorance and stupidity that causes us to act in horrible ways. Thanks again :)

    That always struck me as odd, how we find justification into spewing poison to other people just because they did the same to us some time ago. Like a man hating women just because a woman wronged him years ago. It puts you on the same level as them. I also like how you highlighted the hypocrisy in saying "Yeah, they are awful, horrible, HATEFUL people but MY hate is good because I am hating THEM, see?" and did not try to sway the message into making us share your opinion on a topic. That is pretty rare I think. Too many opinions and too little action (I am guilty of that, too, to be honest) Peace from Ontario

      Thanks heaps John. I agree it's a very odd thing that we humans do. We prefer peace and love, but we're SO easily tempted and swayed into hate, without even knowing it's happening. But if you're aware of it, you can change it :)

      Yeah reminds me of something I read recently. I don't remember who said it, or what the exact quote was, but it went something like, people's capacity for love is so much greater, because hate is only exhausting, and we know the capacity people have to hate, so people's capacity for love is so much greater, because it doesn't exhaust, it continues to give.
