And about the broad-based govt, I think it’s connected to majority of our politicians lacking vision or grand ambition. They have ambitions of acquiring wealth irregularly for themselves, but no ambition to create a bigger cake from which they can eat for a longer period (e.g., by growing manufacturing and creating more jobs that can result in more taxes, or improving education and healthcare to leave more Kenyans with disposable incomes to spend on the products and services their companies could be providing). Even from an individual greed perspective, it’s still myopic. The govt is in crisis and while the opposition could aim for a grander ambition of leading the country, they settle for a lesser ambition of bending the knee to their former competitors and eating the crumbs that fall off the table. ODM is a big party but they have been playing second fiddle since they entered the political landscape back in 2005/2006 and they refuse to innovate, or change tact, only relying on what the party leader (and his cronies) decide.

I hope more people get to watch and listen to this podcast. (I’ll keep sharing on my platforms) These are some necessary conversations to help Kenyans understand what the politicians are doing at each point.

Also, it’s great that you’ve highlighted some key moments in the build up to the election that we should never forget. It’s unfortunate that the political class has somehow figured out how to bomb us with info in a way that forces us to forget the key issues and events that we should be questioning. But overall, after June 2024, (almost) everyone remembers everything. And that’s progress.

@diana yesterday Aden Duale tweeted (posted on X) that the Constitution did not envisage long gaps in the presidency (long periods without a deputy or a president). This was in response to Waikwa Wanyoike stating that for the country to get a new Deputy President, IEBC has to confirm the eligibility of the candidate. Waikwa’s response to Duale’s post was that perhaps what the Constitution did not envisage is a situation where there is no IEBC. At 33:12 I see you make the same point - that the IEBC as an independent commission should always have commissioners ready to play their role in all these processes. And Chaka also mentions that IEBC is one of the key institutions that guard the sovereignty of the people of Kenya. Weeks in advance, you guys have seen the path clearer than us, tell us who will be our new DP already 😄

It's not just the votes that matter, it's the vibes. And in 2002, the vibe was immaculate. "Yote ya Wezekana bila Moi" was the ultimate breakup song of the KANU era. how time fly's.

Politics and development cannot be separated, what brings the difference between the two is leadership. We have bad politics then we will not have development. It is important that we get our politics right!

This is really dumb! Stop making up things just because you you have a podcast or looking for likes and followers. Much as aware against the Adani deal don't expect us to just by everything that is being said about Adani Group because we also can do our own research and verify some things if they make no sense. *Food for thought!!!!* A quick fact finding check reveals that the Adani Group is an Indian Conglomerate founded by Gautam Adani in 1998!! How did they start cooking the deal in 1996 and sign it with GOk in 2024 under a Ruto and KK government.....

Raila won't win it . Even his campaign has loopholes. The Djibouti guy is most likely to take it. I would rather Kenya fronts PLO lumumba but even more importantly AU itself can't fund itself. It's budget more than half of it is funded by wazungu. The AU as institution doesn't work for African people's common good and interests. That's the truth. Let's look at AU history past 30 years it's failures after failures . It doesn't matter who becomes chairman of a captured institution. I just subscribed today good show i will be following.
