We took a day trip from Venice to Verona
It's really easy and well worth taking the train and visiting Verona while you are visiting Venice. Both cities are stunning, with lots to see and do. Verona is only just over an hour away from Venice and this video shows some of the amazing things we saw in Verona, as well as the places we visited.

That’s a fantastic view!
It really is, isn't it. One of the reasons Verona is one of the most visited cities in Italy. Thanks for watching and glad you liked it.
Really helpful information! Verona looks great
Yes, it’s a great place to visit. Thanks for watching.

Thank you, really helpful information
Glad you liked it 😊
The water level had decreased along the years. Now they have few cm less at the shore level,
A very informative and smart report! Thank you so much!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Hello from Germany, just watched your TH-cam videos on Vancouver. Thanks again for them. I find them very helpful because the also show some ways to get to interesting spots, as well as commenting them. Of course as Europeans we are rather spoiled with stunning Mountain views like in Austria, Italy, France and Switzerland. So, my wife and I are still asking ourselves if a fairly expensive trip to Vancouver was worth going. Having been to many places in the US and visited mega cities like New York, to add the center area of Vancouver to me seems a bit „unnecessary“. The downtown area also seems not so different to such which we had the privilege to visit before somewhere else. Besides we hear about safety issues in some parts. We surely should skip these. How did you feel there? I understand that Victoria and Vancouver Island and other very nice parks around may be something else. Also the water planes catch my interest. As for the cable car trip up there, fantastic! The only reason not wanting to go to Switzerland instead would be to avoid the incredible crowds of visitors or high prices there, as friends keep telling me who live there. Finally please allow me the question, if you - as a World Traveller - would fly across the Atlantic just to visit Vancouver alone for let’s say ten days without having a specific goal there? To me the surroundings appear to be rather worthwhile than the city itself. Excuse bothering, please.
Hi. I am glad you found my videos helpful. We spent 3 days in Vancouver city and to be honest, we did many of the key things to do such as Stanley Park, Granville Island, Grouse Mountain etc. Personally I feel 10 days may be too long however it would give you flexibility to spread things out and also factor in weather (especially for the likes of Grouse Mountain.) Vancouver Island is great for wildlife, so if you want to go out on a boat to watch bears, whales, sea otters etc, then it’s amazing. The scenery is stunning and highly recommend the sea plane trip to enjoy this from the air. I have many more videos do post that include things like a full day trip on a working boat that stops off at various remote villages you can only reach by boat and drops off supplies. Lots of lovely beaches for a leisurely walk and enjoy some nice sunsets.
@ Wunderful! Thank you so much for your survey on what else to experience!!! We understand. So, safety or feeling threatened by the often mentioned drug problem didn’t really bother you. Such areas seem to be avoidable as a short time visitor, even without driving a car, using taxi, public transportation, Uber etc…?!
Thank you for your fine reports. You master in showing spectacular places in an unspectacular, modest way. Lots of detailed and information. Since I have some walking issues I can see what we may be able to do - and what better not. ; ) Will try to get back to you by mail.
Hi. Thanks for watching and your kind comments. Yes, I do like to try and show the location and make it more about the location, as opposed to me. I’m relatively new to TH-cam and as I gain more experience I will keep improving 😊 Overall, yes, countries such as Germany, Switzerland do have the stunning scenery but we loved Vancouver and Vancouver Island. There are just so many spectacular waterfalls, rivers and other places to visit. Also, every single places we visited always had toilets (clean) with no graffiti etc. Just really nice to travel around/across the island. Victoria is also a lovey place to spend a few days. We are flying back to Vancouver next year and doing a trip from Vancouver to Banff and then returning to Vancouver via Whistler. Looking forward to seeing the Canadian Rockies. If you do travel to Vancouver, have a great time 😊
All the airport lounges seem really busy since Covid

Yes, I enjoyed it. 😊 Thanks.
What gorgeous waterfalls!
Yes, stunning aren’t they 😊
Great info!
Thanks, glad you found it useful.
I flown 100+ times ABZ to LHR return, never from B gates. Lots of times from Gate A4 which is the bus to remote stands, last time being in Oct where the stand was right next to T3. You can still use B lounge regardless, though you will be advised to walk back to A gates otherwise the transit will take you back to passport control and security again.
Yeah, I have also done that in the past, gone to the B gate lounge and then walked back. Every lounge I visit in various countries seem to be getting busier and busier these days. I travel overseas for work every 4 weeks so fly a lot, right through covid etc. it was good when airports were absolutely deserted, but of course, some airport lounges were closed.
I always find that Heathrow lounge really busy, it’s often very difficult to find somewhere to sit
Yes, even the B gate lounge is getting that way now.

Hi. They played the Anaheim Ducks.
Ok I went to the islanders game and it was so good

Fantastic views!
They are indeed. Thanks for watching.
Hi Graeme - just came across your channel and it's nice to find another fellow Scottish TH-camr! Enjoyed the video - looked like it's a fairly decent seat in PE with AF. Not had a chance to fly long haul with them yet - but have heard good things! Have to agree with you re the PE menu - didn't fancy the look of those, but the chicken dish looked decent.
Glad you enjoyed it. I don’t have a strong Scottish accent but I guess other Scottish folk will notice it 😀 I work overseas so fly Air France and KLM back and forth to UK every 4 weeks. So I know the menus inside out 😀 Yes, the seat is good and the new business cabin is equally as good. I find the food decent and compares well to other airlines. Just on the subject of food. Like many airlines, Air France (and KLM) are looking into possibly stopping free alcohol and soft drinks etc on European routes. Still be okay long haul but many airlines are still struggling. Just something to watch out for when booking. I notice other things like food running out for example in the KLM lounges at Amsterdam and that never used to happen. It’s these little cracks that start to appear that then causes them to lose customers.
@@GlobetrottingGraeme I was through AMS for the first time a few months back, and I really wasn't impressed with the food and drink offerings in either the smaller Schengen lounge (which I figured was mostly geared towards short-haul), and the larger non-Schengen Crown Lounge. The latter was an impressive and attractive lounge, but food was really weak, I felt - and not a fan of a "paid for" restaurant inside the sky lounge, as that just removes any incentive for them to improve the base food offering. I'd be surprised if they stopped free booze and soft drinks in business on Short haul, as that's a risky move, but if it's only in Eco, then I don't think that would be a huge issue.
@GLAFly Yes, it was eco I was referring to. The larger Crowne lounge is as you say, very impressive but so busy, I think they struggle to keep up with the demand on food. I flew KLM recently to Venice and on the way back (it was about 8pm) there were several mice running around inside the lounge. Have to say, that’s the first time I have seen that 😬
I Love The Exterior Camera.Great Video
Yes, always interesting to watch landing at night 😎 Glad you liked it.
I have been getting mixed reviews and will be going to JNB next September and will be looking to do premium economy on the way back. Looking at Virgin Atlantic, Delta and Air France. Have you done Virgin and Delta. The food on delta as I have seen does not look good as of Virgin and Air France. Loved youth review because you talked during it. If they have the hard shells on the flight I’d it worth it? Thanks
Hi. No, I haven't done Virgin or Delta, sorry. My flight to JNB last year was the new AF cabin, so the premium seats would be the new type, not the older hard shell that some found uncomfortable. You need to also consider the full package i.e. if the other two airlines offer business class check-in, priority boarding etc. You will get full sky priority at Paris if you transit through there. That really helps save time at security and border control. Thanks for watching and enjoy your trip to JNB.
Air France Premium prices are usually at least double or more but I'm not sure you get double the improvement over economy
Thanks for watching. This was a free upgrade given to me without asking so not sure what the cost would have been. I’ve upgraded to business at check in and at airport in the past and of course because that is only a seat upgrade, not ticket upgrade, they are really good value. If you want to take the risk, that’s a good way to get it cheaper.
@@GlobetrottingGraemeThanks for the comment.. I most often book my business class flights on the AF web site.. How often does paying for an upgrade at the last minute work and what sort of saving do you make? Thanks
@@newbeginnings8566 Last year I booked premium Paris-Johannesburg and then upgraded at check in for £380 (I already had business booked return.) Last year I also booked premium Paris-Bangkok and this time upgraded at airport for £320. I then upgraded at the airport in Bangkok for the return flight, same cost. These flights were all in the new AF business cabin. So three flights upgraded no issues. Yes, it’s first come first serve but even at the airport while doing the baggage drop I still managed. Of course different routes will have different availability. I fly every 4 weeks UK-Senegal and every single time there are seats available to upgrade in premium and business. It’s a gamble, but it can save you a lot! Upgrading 4 days before my flight back from Bangkok I was quoted £2,000! Then got it for £320 at the airport. You get all of the benefits, lounge etc, you just don’t get the extra flying blue XP. Hope this helps.
Thank you for a detailed review and especially for pointing out exactly what is / is not included in the ticket price. Too many "famous" TH-cam flight reviewers neglect to do that, making their reviews rather pointless. It is significant that Air France premium economy (as with other Sky Team airlines) includes several Sky Priority perks in the ticket price. As you pointed out, Air France premium includes priority check-in, baggage handling and boarding, regardless of your frequent flyer status. For me, that is a good reason to chose Premium over standard economy and for choosing Air France and Sky Team partners, over airlines like Lufthansa, Swiss and British Airways. I do, however, take issue with Air France's premium economy catering. It is the only aspect that completely undermines the premium experience. When directly compared to other Sky Team airlines like Delta and KLM, Air France fails miserably. (An irony from a country renowned for its food). The thumbnail size sliver of paper that amounts to a "menu" (and you, grandly, only get that on flights from Paris) is a joke compared to the proper, printed menus on all KLM and Delta international flights. Presented in plastic containers, Air France's "premium" food is indistinguishable from economy class and in fact, the second meal on long-haul flights, regardless of the time of day, is the same economy class breakfast snack box. Perhaps I would be less critical if the Premium economy ticket prices were more economy than premium, but most often they are not. So while the food is not inedible, and like you, I've never had a "bad" meal on Air France, its presentation is abysmal and ruins an otherwise premium experience. I wish they would take notes from their Sky Team partners, Delta and KLM, who I fly in preference for that reason.
Yes it’s difficult to find an airline that does it all isn’t it. I’ve flown this route (part of 3 legs between UK and Senegal) every 4 weeks for the last 3 years and although that means I get the same menu for chunks of time, overall, the food is always okay. Yes, nothing premium about the presentation, apart from the proper cutlery really. So yes, as you said, giving extras such as priority boarding etc does help balance that out. KLM are possibly stopping free food and drink (apart from tea, coffee and water) from 2025 on some European routes and Air France running a similar trial. So the days of still getting champagne etc in economy could be numbered! Thanks for watching and the nice feedback. Much appreciated.
I agree. The food was mediocre at best not bad but not great and the snack was a joke. Sky priority made dropping off and picking up baggage seamless from YOW to CDG, but on the return we waited over an out for our bags. The hard shell seats on the 777-200ER are uncomfortable and my biggest beef was no alcohol was served on the last 3 hours back to YOW. I only paid 300cad each for both ways but this product could be seriously improved. As opposed to Air Canada, they had a selection of 5 wines with a snack bar in the galley, a nice touch. AF nothing.
@ I think consistency in terms of service offered is often a problem with some airlines but I guess that’s not unique to airlines. If you are a frequent flyer and then reach the higher status levels, that can often tie you in to flying with the same airline. I also use things like the BA companion voucher, which gets you 2 for 1 tickets. BA aren’t the best compared to some, but of course you are getting 2 for 1, so you go with that. I do agree the hard shell seats are not a good product and good that they are replacing those. Thanks for watching.
That’s a gorgeous waterfall!
It is, isn’t it. Definitely worth visiting.
What incredible views!
They are incredible and you can see for miles!
Thank you for your vidéo really accurate!. Did the inclination of the seat help you to relax or sleep ? What about noises ?
Yes, in my experience the extra recline did make the journey more comfortable and easier to relax/sleep. As for noise, I was sat towards the rear of the premium cabin, so in line with the middle of the wing area. I would say no real difference between the front of the economy cabin where I often sit. Overall, the premium cabin does make a significant difference. You need to sit upfront in business to get the quiet seats, but not on this trip...Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video.
@GlobetrottingGraeme thank you very much for your recommendations 😊
Interesting topic as per the Companion Vouchers, and I say that because I never used them in 2022 / 2023, I simply let them expire. I currently still have (14) Companion Vouchers that are good thru 2025/2026. I'm debating if I am gonna use one in 2025? I noticed that all of the TH-cam instructions on B.A. Companion Vouchers are if you use the B.A. Amex card?... a card I don't have. Eitherway... thx for the information regarding the vouchers 👊repect👊
You’re welcome 👊
I always find the food really good on Air France
Yes, I find it very good as well. It’s one of my favourite airlines 😊
Thanks because some people said the food was not very good.
Whats the alcohol to choose?
Hi. I don’t drink alcohol during the day so only had a soft drink. However I did see there were some wines, Prosecco and Peroni beer available. Not as extensive a selection as other lounges I have used but I guess at least a few options to choose from.
@@GlobetrottingGraeme ok ,thx- we check this November 😉, evening
Gorgeous building! And what great views
Yes, it’s very impressive isn’t it. Such an interesting place to visit.
Yes.
Hi. Thanks for watching. What is it that you don't like or feel lets BA down?
@@GlobetrottingGraeme This was pre-COVID hence the 747. I know they've been retired now. Many years ago when I used to travel for business there was one airline above all I would avoid like the plague, British Airways. They managed to have more emergency landings, delayed flights, cancelled flights and lost bags (some never to be found) than any other airline by quite some considerable margin. There was one overriding consideration above all that made me turn my back on British Airways ..... the service was just shite. Every time there was a problem I was greeted with the "it's not my problem" faces you normally find in a teenage centric clothing store. Sobeit, nearly 20 years ago I vowed never to fly British Airways ever again. I managed to maintain my happy British Airways airways free record until recently. Although the flights for our holiday were booked through American Airlines several of the flights (DUB-LHR, LHR-JFK, LHR-DUB) were codeshare with British Airways. The trouble began before we even got near a plane ..... British Airways seem to think charging £288.00 just to reserve seats is perfectly acceptable. Hold on British Airways: 1) We're were on an American Airlines booking and 2) We're business class. We've already paid right royally to fly with you and you have the gall to charge me to reserve our seats? (More later) Moving on, we managed to get from DUB to LHR relatively painlessly and get to boarding for JFK with little aggravation. On to the oldest 747 in existence! While there are probably older 747s flying come on British Airways, you can do better than that. You're supposed to be one of the world's premium airlines. Not only was this plane built in the 90s (G-BYGC, I checked) but I seriously doubt it had be refitted since it was delivered. It was grey, drab and listless. It was tatty. I've seen soviet era Aeroflot planes in better nick. I had a laptop in the early 90s that had a better screen than the media system and it didn't justify being called an entertainment system. And wireless? What is this wireless of which you speak? This was certainly not the premium experience I paid for nor, I suspect, the image you want to portray British Airways. Once we landed we had the utter dismallity that was Terminal 7 at JFK. The gallows are more welcoming (and faster) than JFK T7, come to think of it, they're faster too! To top it all off when we got the boarding cards for the last leg of our journey home (British Airways LHR-DUB) our pre-reserved (and expensive) seats were nowhere to be seen, we weren't even in the same row! We weren't even in adjacent rows. ALL of the British Airways staff I asked about the problem basically fobbed me off. Eventually, once on the plane, I asked the person it the seat beside Lynne if they would mind swapping with me and they were more than happy to. Why couldn't you do that British Airways? Is that not part of what I was paying for both in the ticket price and the seat reservation charge? So to summarise British Airways. You are still abysmal. You are still so up your own arse that you don't realise virtually every other airline out there is providing a better service than you are. I will never, ever fly British Airways again and I will got out of my way, pay extra and adjust dates to avoid flying British Airways. You have lost my business forever and I will actively discourage all my friends and colleagues from using British Airways. The other flights of this trip were with American Airlines and the other US trips in the past year were with United. The American Airlines and United flights and experience were absolutely wonderful. The British Airways experience didn't even come close.

No problem, glad you found the information useful.
