This Channel is made by me specifically for young Engineers and Supervisors who are working in the field of Generators. It is also useful for those preparing for competitive exams. Advanced topics are explained with the help of Animation. Topics covered are
1. Variation of Resultant Flux with type of Load
2. Phasor Diagram of Flux and Voltage
3. Equivalent Circuit of Generator
4. Power Angle Curve
5. Stable and Unstable Region in Power Angle Curve
6. Transient Stability etc.
One topic will be published every week.
Minimum of Mathematics is used and efforts are made to explain concepts by Animation. It is rightly said that one picture is equivalent to thousand words.. Wherever, Mathematics is unavoidable, equations are derived with Linear Motion first and then equivalent rotational motion equation is given. It is much easier to comprehend Linear Motion.

In a Synchronous Generator, Maximum Power Transfer (Pmax) takes place at Load Angle 90 degree. Pmax = 3EV/xS. Beyond Load Angle 90 degree, Generator becomes Unstable. Pmax is Steady State Stability Limit. Steady State Stability Margin is the difference between Maximum Power (Pmax) and Rated Power. In terms of Load Angle, it is the Difference between 90 degree and Delta Zero. In this Video, Maxi...

loved the simplicity of the video, nicely explained!
Glad it helped!. When I receive comments like this Jhosh aa jata hai.
Hello sir please can u help me, i have interview on 24 i cover all topic of electrical machine except synchronous machine please sir can u guide me or share me important questions for interview on synchronous machine. Sir can I get ur mail or number to touch with u
Just before Interview relax. Stop rading anything. Take deep breaths. After entering the room, say good morning or afternoon. Take a seat only after they offer you. Try to speak topics in which you are thorough. What ever you answer next question will be related to answer. Whatever you answer you should know the unit. You spend 5 minutes everyday to listen to latest news. Insulation is the favourite topic of interviewers. Kindly go through insulation topics in my quiz. Be confident. I am sure you will get through. Don't forget to give me party.
Excellent. Thank you Mr. Khanna
I am very impressed with you. You are very patriotic
Thank you Sir. Beautifully explained from a practicing Electrical Engineer.
Bharat ke bete, I get lot of encouragement when I get comments from you
An excellent video, thank you very much for sharing. I would just have one question-is there a difference between Xd and Xs or can they be used interchangably?
My dear friend, XD means Synchronous Reactance at the direct axis i. e. at the axis of poles. However I will do a deep study on the topic and come back to you It will take some time. Sorry for inconvenience.
@@pradeepkhanna1435 thank you very much for your answer. I was just asking because for the first half of the video Xd is being used, but then during the explanation of stability of the machine suddenly Xs is being used so i am just curious whether there is any difference between those two parameters. To me it seems that they are identical because while i was at the university i also encountered the formula for active power, but in the denominator we were using Xd instead of Xs P=(E*U*sin(delta))/Xd
Dear Viewer, Your observation is very correct. I should have used direct axis synchronous reactance throughout my video. Let me explain in detail the difference between synchronous reactance and direct axis synchronous reactance. Direct Axis means axis connecting the poles of machine. Quadrature axis means axis perpendicular to direct axis. In case of cylindrical rotor air gap is uniform all around. Hence synchronous reactance is same all around. In case of salient pole rotor, air gap is less in direct axis than in quadrature axis. Reluctance offered to flux is less in direct axis. Hence Armature Flux is more in direct axis. Armature flux also induces EMF in Stator Winding similar to EMF Induced due to Main Flux Or Rotor Flux. Hence EMF induced due to Armature flux is different in direct axis and quadrature axis. Hence synchronous reactance is different in direct axis and quadrature axis. I suggest you go through two reaction theory. Of course it is little bit difficult to understand. .
Very nice Video, thank you !
Useful infm
good explanation sir

Dear Sir, 2 to 3 topics are left which are yet to be published in English. After that I shall publish Videos with Hindi Audio.

welcome back sir...
Sir is back , happy to hear from you sir ,
Hallo sir. What will be the effect of changing excitation under no load condition .if an alternator is connected to infinite bus bar. Sir iss type ke question ki theory ki link hai to pls. Send kijige na .ya ye question konse topic se study kare vo bataye.
Dear Vaibhav, First thing I would like to appreciate that you ask very good question. First thing you will appreciate that when a Generator is connected to Infinite Bus, you don't have control on Load. Load will be whatever comes on Grid. Let us neglect Internal Resistance of Winding and use Simplified Equivalent Circuit. In my earlier "Video Power Angle Curve of Synchronous Generator", it is shown that Power = EVsin(delta)/Xs In the Infinite Bus, Voltage (V) is constant. Hence Power (P) is proportional to Esin(delta) Suppose Power is constant, hence Esin(delta) is constant. It is becoming difficult to explain further without diagram. Hence I am making Video on Over Excited and Under Excited Generator with constant Power.
Sir pls make a vedio on basic numericals on synchronous generator
Thank you sir
Really nice!!
Thought-provoking content!!
Best video of IIT product
I get lot of encouragement from your comments. What is your actual name? Your trade name transient matter is very impressive. I am very interested to know what is the deep meaning of your trade name. Pradeep Khanna
