Totally understandable! For me, on all of my electric guitars (and some acoustics), I use completely custom/optimized strings sets, which is also what I did for this guitar as a one-off thing since I otherwise use it in Open G and DADGAD tunings. I fell in love with this instrument immediately because it pretty much works like a mandolin! You can tune it as GDAE like a mandolin, just one octave down, which is also great because playing many chords on mandolin can be tricky with how small they are. On the flipside, the Irish Bouzouki is also associated with a tuning of GDAD, just lowering the high E a full step. Currently digging around for some holiday material in this tuning, hopefully I'll have time to get something up for that! 🤘😄

I hope I was able to do it justice here, because figuring out how to record the bits using the Whammy was HARD. 🤘🤣 Quite a bit of Tom Morello's wacky playing is difficult to replicate exactly as it is on the record, but dammit I'll have fun trying at least!

Appreciate you greatly taking the time to hear all the demos out! Though my bias to C2 Standard Tuning remains, I definitely agree where you can here some chord arrange clash in one tuning but are solid in another. I knows this will sound like bragging, but I've checked a few times before and immediately after publishing this video, I don't think anyone's done a comparison of guitar tunings like this in half-step intervals. Most seem to just pit E2 Standard up against another lower tuning with nothing in-between or some crazy drop tuning. 🤣 And yea, this video DEFINITELY took some time to assemble, especially for the latter 20 minutes of recording demos! But I'm really glad I saw this through to the end. Like I mentioned in the video, I originally came up with this when I passed 400 subs, but about halfway through editing I canned the video because the demos I was recording then sounded awful, which the reason for that could be its own video! 🤘🤣

@@brandon.tate77 Nothing bad comes from something good for you that requires a ton of effort. I hope this video starts gaining traction with the algo, because like you said, I've never seen anything quite like this video idea.
