    How to immediately print the created pdf?

    • @sdev_in
      @sdev_in ปีที่แล้ว

      To generate & print a PDF using pdfmake playground, simply follow these steps: 1. Go to the pdfmake playground website (pdfmake.org/playground.html) / your local system. 2. Enter the content you want to include in your PDF. 3. Customize the styling and formatting of your PDF using the available options. 4. Once you're satisfied with your PDF, click the "Download/Print" button. 5. Select the "Save as PDF" option from the available download options. 6. Choose a destination folder on your computer to save the PDF. 7. Click "Save" and wait for the PDF to be generated and saved. 8. Once the PDF is saved, you can open it and print it using your preferred method. That's it! With these simple steps, you can easily generate a PDF using pdfmake playground and save it to your computer for printing or sharing. In reality, we don't need to use the pdfmake playground to generate a PDF. We can use the pdfmake library directly in our code to generate a PDF. We'll see how to do that in the upcoming session. Hope this helps.

    Sir i have a advanced question. If there are multiple dictionaries in a list, like that in an API response, i wish to know value of a key, which corresponds to a particular key: value pair which is unique to one among several dictionaries. Eg: [{"name" : "x", "age":"5"}, {"name" : "y", "age":"10"}] . Now I am only interested in "age" of "y" which is "10". I must be able to directly access only age of y. Because while trying to access age, it tries to interchange/produce unreliable data. Thanks in advance

    • @sdev_in
      @sdev_in ปีที่แล้ว

      Assuming that, you have a list of dictionaries and `name` field value to be unique, ```py ageY = None for d in my_list: if d['name'] == 'y': ageY = d['age'] break print(ageY) ``` or we can use a list comprehension to filter the list to only those dictionaries that have a name of "y", then access the age of the first item in the resulting list: ```py ages = [d['age'] for d in my_list if d['name'] == 'y'] print(ages[0]) ``` or we can use a next() function to get the first item in the resulting list: ```py age = next(d['age'] for d in my_list if d['name'] == 'y') print(age) ``` Here there is a possibility that the list comprehension will return an empty list, so you should check for that before accessing the first item in the list. You can also use a try/except block to catch the IndexError exception that will be raised if the list is empty. If you want to use a dictionary instead of a list, you can use a dictionary comprehension to create a dictionary with the name as the key and the age as the value: ```py my_dict = {d['name']: d['age'] for d in my_list} ``` Then you can access the age of "y" like this: ```py ageY = my_dict.get('y') # returns None if key is not found print(ageY) ``` Note: 1. Do not depend on the order of the list, as it is not guaranteed to be the same every time. 2. In real time, prefer to depend on some other unique identifier (like `userId`, `uid`,...), rather than `name`. Name can be changed, but userId cannot be changed. Might be helpful, check out this th-cam.com/video/PHAaAiM2Em4/w-d-xo.html

    • @abcxyzyt1
      @abcxyzyt1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sdev_in Very well explained Sir, thank you very much. I was concerned as these data key:value pairs are parallel data and not sub-data, but I can see that the count d remains the same while accessing... Sir may I know further, among above which process is the quickest and least cumbersome/lightest? Thanks again.

    • @sdev_in
      @sdev_in ปีที่แล้ว

      @@abcxyzyt1 1) Suggest to use the first method if your goal is to find only the age of 'y' in the list. ageY = None for d in my_list: if d['name'] == 'y': ageY = d['age'] break print(ageY) Note: - Worst case scenario, you will have to iterate over the whole list. - Best case scenario, you will find the element in the first iteration. 2) If you want to find the age of 'y' in the list and also want to find the age of 'z' in the list,...., then you can use this method. => use a dictionary instead of a list, you can use a dictionary comprehension to create a dictionary with the name as the key and the age as the value ```py ageMap = {d['name']: d['age'] for d in my_list} ageY = ageMap.get('y') # returns None if key is not found ageZ = ageMap.get('z') # returns None if key is not found ageA = ageMap.get('a') # returns None if key is not found # ... # ... print(ageY) ``` The powerful data type (dictionary/object) we can manipulate the data as we needed for our purpose. As suggested in the previous comment, check out th-cam.com/video/PHAaAiM2Em4/w-d-xo.html
