How we load our pigs onto our trailer - nearly STRESS FREE!
มุมมอง 2432 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video we show how we load our pigs onto our trailer as stress free as possible (for the pigs) to haul them to the processor. These were our pigs from the 2021 season. They are Mangalitsa crossed with Red Wattle and were just shy of 300 lbs each at around 9 months old. The trailer is a home made trailer measuring 10 feet long x 5 feet wide and perfect for hauling our pigs. Custom music c...

      They were a new breed to us as well. I heard they originated in East Texas which piqued my interest since that’s where I live. Once we started raising them I learned they are easy to work with, very docile and easy for them to become my pets if I’m not careful, lol. The meat has wonderful marbling at 300 lbs and only gets better the longer you let them grow. I love the Red Wattle breed!

      It is definitely not an easy task at all and took us a lot of time to work up to finally being able to do it. I understand it’s not for everybody though. We figured if we are going to eat pork, the only way we know for sure they had a good life is to raise them ourselves.

    • @cbmachart
      @cbmachart 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t had any problems over the past several years using it this way. We typically only put one 50 pound bag of feed in there and it lasts about a week. It’s capable of holding 100 pounds and haven’t noticed any issues the few times I’ve filled it all the way up either. The feeder and the 55 gallon waterer have really worked well for us! So glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for watching!
