@benderbender1233 Hi😀💕
Could you do an investigation into what happened to all the hides, I'm far to lazy.
I hope you don't run out of material anytime soon. good research.
This is a hoot. I was going to cast aspersions. But you cracked me up.
Happy New Year from Germany🦕
😊🖑✌❤
G'day Jamie, Happy New Year. Wishing you the best always🎊💙

@@nancyM1313-Boo 👋😙 hi luvy!!! wasnt bad. h0pe u hava grrrrreat 2025!! 🤗
@benderbender1233 Quiet & nice, thanks!💗
I agree Jamie, whoever was running this zoo seems to have been pretty clueless about big cats. People who keep exotic animals need to understand the species they are caring for.
I get upset too at things that happened 140 years ago.
It might be interesting but I cannot understand half of what your reading.
Tigers weren’t endangered back then
Thanks Jamie ..
I´ll hope you continue reading articles next year. 😃🦕
domestic violence incident
This makes the sightings of wild thylacine in Victoria plausible. That is, they may well have been extinct on the mainland at the time of European settlement but …
Thanks for the story bud.Interesting.
20 month to go before I can explore Australia😁🦕
G'day Jamie Happy Holidays to you!❄🤗❄
G'day Nancy , Merry Christmas

Hey BB😊💕
@@nancyM1313-Boo 👋😙 hi luvy!
Evening Jamie & thanks❄☃
I am not a Historian so my assumption about California history is far from reality and my lazy attitude with research proves my error of a claim to knowledge. Maybe, during the last two hundred years, men from many foreign countries helped do something in the State. They may have traveled to the USA and brought with them many things other than their selves. Other than the local Fauna, some now extinct, it is possible some critters not native to North America were imported. Tea and Coffee and Cane Sugar are not easily found Flora found in California and might have been introduced by some route. The point being...my ignorance and Mining Camp mythology says YES to animals from Australia having been a part of California history. Rumors about the Chupacabra are descendants of the Thylacine, introduced in South America, sure sounds interesting. Just like tea from China.
Good stuff. As an American, Australian Natural history is absolutely fascinating
Thanks for your work Jamie.
They reckon they're becoming endangered but I see heaps om them in Tassie. Yet to see a Tassie Tigar though..
Eastern Quolls are extinct on the mainland and can only be found in the wild in Tasmania.
me c0mments aint stayn up.

Good onya Jamie!
Crikey! That's the biggest dingo I ever seen! Why don't ladies feint anymore? Now they just taze ya
I can imagine then absolutely seething as they wrote their letters by hand
I'll tell ya cool story Jamie ha ha On night mean my uncle were going to get a pound of pot ha ha from a water shed valley near glen Innes and when we were driving back out of the valley late at night up the wytalabar range, a bloody giant quoll ran a cross the road in front of our 4x4 it was bloody knee high Me and my uncle were like jesus christ did you see the size of that quoll ha ha it was jet black with white spots definitely larger than usual 😂😂😂 We got UNDOCUMENTED animal's on the NSW northern table lands around Guyra true as god my fellow Australian's My grandfather used to shoot thylacoleo's around Guyra and Armidale because they would attack sheep on his property
Joined this 2,5 days later as usual but great stuff to listen to.😉🦕
sounds like they are arguing about diferent animals.
Why do you sound like you've been up all night drinking
Thanks Jamie, this correspondence is a riot. The letter from Lewis A. Piers 10:17 in particular is no holds barred. The "kangaroos in burrows underground" and another correspondent 17.27 wickedly wishing that Mr McCooey could be transformed into a "clucking hen" had me chuckling out loud. Looking forward to the next instalment on this character.
G'day Jamie - thank you!!🎉
G'day Nancy
@@nancyM1313-Boo heya luvy!! 👋🌝
So hilarious to hear the naturalist describe platypuses laying eggs, and kangaroo joeys growing on the teat, as some sort of urban myth. And "chimney corner naturalist" sounds like the 1884 term for "armchair expert" LOL .

That yoraks old man talking
Humans over history have proven countless times that they are not bright. Common sense will never come easy to people on some subjects.
Love these stories and especially the old pics. Thank you. 🦕
Fascinating. Thankyou.Tassie Tiger tied up! The mind boggles.
