    Me and my best bud from 5+ years are starting to drift apart, especially with him getting married to my other best friend and being shipped off into the military. we both said we trust our lives with each other face to face. and to have that bond to be on equil footing is amazing, and nothing can beat that quality of a best friend. this video helped me see more clearly and gives me confidence with this whole long-distance friendship. and who knows something good could happen. thanks for making this video

    Hi this is kind of off topic but I would like to pose a question on your religion. Why is god worth worshiping when he prioritizes “free will” so that humans can be allowed to traffic and assault or “abuse” children? I’m genuinely curious

    Ahh this topic reminds me of a play I've read last week 😉. O'Neill's Long Day's Journey Into Night. In that imo the characters seem to lie to themselves though in the end it seems a weak facade that can't hold together; maybe the secondary danger in lying to ourselves is when others bolster that lie or don't challenge it so it proceeds on..? 🤔

    We can't always know if a thing/ situation/person is wrong for us at the outset.. I think it helps some instances that if a certain thing couldn't work out right that it "wasn't meant for us" but not to believe this so much that we abrogate it all to what is fated. Biblically do u think everything that goes wrong comes from free will and from earliest ancestral choices ie Adam's choices? Or is wrongness just part and parcel of cause and effect and entropy ie stars could be said to go wrong by going supernova but that can be set by the lifecycle they follow!? Thing is, often I've found something that goes awry for us can be a blessing later or a good thing for others there's no one viewpoint as we don't ever seem to have the fullest picture. A positive spin on mistakes and wrong results could help at any point, even Yoda said in the end (with hindsight though!) "The greatest teacher failure is" 😊😉

    The last time I was pushed to my limits was when I was taking care of my mum who has osteoarthritis. I really came to my edge and I'm ashamed to say I lost my temper with my sister. It did however result in her taking some of the responsibility off me. I just wish I had addressed it more calmly. Truth be told I don't think I had realised how stressed I was becoming.

    I don't know if this is appropriate to share here but even in writing this right now, I constantly feel the need to prove myself, and I feel so unloving towards myself that my ability to express myself through my writing, something that once was an expression of my pride in myself, has been deterred because I'm now so focused on how I perceive myself and how others will perceive me. I think I've lost so much discipline and love for myself that I've pulled myself onto a path that isn't befitting for me, and I really don't know what to do. Like I said I don't know if this is appropriate to write here but if anyone has anything to say that might help me find love in myself again, I'd truly deeply appreciate it

    Sorry for my earlier comment. I think religion is fascinating. Sometimes I spite myself that I do not believe. I don't think anything could change it but I'm always open for new ideas and opinions. But it seems to give a lot of peace of mind and strength to all of you. Yet I can't wrap my head around why it would be true. Why this religion and none of the others. Why is there nothing to prove for it. Why do people suffer. Why do I live in one of the happiest and richest (gdp per capita) in the world yet almost everyone here is atheist. So many questions. I wish you all the best and always open for new opinions 🙏

    • @LivingSimplyWithLondon
      @LivingSimplyWithLondon 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No need to apologize! First off, if you want reading material try CS Lewis’s “Mere Christianity” or Tim Keller’s “The Reason For God.” I myself have undergone intense investigation into what I believe. I’ve varied in who I believe is out there. I started as a Christian, weaved my way through other patterns of thought, and eventually found my way back to Christianity. Mostly, I asked myself a few questions and those led me to God… 1. Humans are emotional creatures whose moods can be changed by not eating. Thus, I don’t trust myself to make my own moral code. Things like rape, slavery, abuse, etc. are wrong. If there is no objective truth, how are they wrong? An atheist has grounds to argue that the aforementioned are okay. 2. Inside I feel this intense battle between hope and hopelessness. Why does it feel like something is missing? Maybe it’s because I’m made for a different, perfect, heavenly world. 3. The Bible addresses your point about money-money is the root of all evil. You can’t serve God and money. Either you love one and hate the other or serve one and betray the other. Money isn’t evil, but the love of it leads to greed and corruption. 4. Why Christianity? Why is that the only true religion? A fantastic question. First, let’s look at what Christianity has done. The Bible was the cornerstone of the abolitionist movement. Christianity was the first religion to claim equality among all people regardless of race and sex. Next, let’s look at history. You’d be hard pressed to find a historian who claims Jesus wasn’t real. The problem is, you can’t be just a great prophet and say the things Jesus said. He is either the Son of God or insane. The real Jesus existed, died and then disappeared from his tomb. 5. That leads to my next question: if Jesus was not in his tomb, what does that mean? Does it mean his disciples robbed his grave? Why would they do that? All but one of the 12 disciples dies as a martyr. They all gave up family, wealth, power and position to follow Jesus. With his death, they stood to gain all of that back. Yet, when his tomb was found empty they rejoiced. Why would these men-all of whom died for their devotion to Jesus-give up their lives for a dead lunatic? 6. The final question-if Jesus rose from the dead, what does that mean for us? It means there is a personal God who loves us enough to send his son. It means there is hope in a broken world. It means that we, by putting our faith in Jesus, will be able to find the fulfillment we desire and spend eternity with God. All of this is dense and life changing, not to mention complicated. This is by no means an exhaustive defense of Christianity. This is just what came to mind at first. If you ever have any more questions, I’d love to try and answer. My email is contactlondonbaker@gmail.com Enjoy your day! 😄

    To believe means to do/live what you believe in. So if you say you believe in God you do what God tells you because you trust him. And you can only do this by being born again. I came to a living faith by asking God and he answered me and freed me from Walking in Darkness (void inside my heart and depression) and God made me become born again in Jesus. I died (I had to die) but I also became alive again in Jesus so I am free of sin which also means I do not have to sin anymore. I am no slave anymore like I was in the past as my heart got deeply damaged and thus I did a sin I didn't wanted to do until I was getting baptized in Jesus name. I fought against the sin over a year but I could not get rid of lust. But as I got baptized in Jesus name, the sin/lust was taken away from me so I don't have to do the sin I don't want to do anymore. Jesus = "God saves" And as I started to visit churches I encountered many hypocrites who didn't realy believed in Jesus. Jesus says your works (what you live) will show who you are and what you truly believe in. I even got banned from 3 churches because I told them what God has done in my life and I showed them God those the same for anyone who believes in Jesus. I gave them the scriptures from the bible but they still didn't wanted to believe it = they don't believe in Jesus because Jesus is the Word of God.

    "True belief has impact!" You are right... That's why being a lukewarm Christian is a sin... You must be in fire for Him!
