Am I going to watch a commentary video over an hour long on a movie I've never watched that's a reboot of a series of movies I've never watched? Yes.

I have a theory that uliana perhaps made a contract with charming That tricked him into opening the book so he could have Ella to himself at Castle coming with Bridget out-of-the-way. I feel like there was a lot of context in the scene where they check the mirror and the queen of hearts is like I’m not so funny now am I

The "dont be such a princess" comment was most likely Ella saying that Chloe goes through life with reckless abandon because shes a princess and she has the money and privilege to not care about things and not worry about say knocking over a vase because that object means nothing to her.

When I first watched this movie I genuinely thought Ella was the one who pranked Bridgette and that’s why she says “I saw through her, everyone here is two faced and too fake” in love an’t it.

Honestly, even if it wasn't your fault, kneeling in front of your ex best friend who was humiliated and revived severe trauma seems like the least you can do to try and make them feel better. Seems like she just wants a sense of control after it was lost to her. Not that what she's doing is okay, but with how "nice" Cinderella is supposed to be she is very cold to her ex best friend who again went through something very traumatic. Also uliana, soften your pride, that incident was YOUR fault. She warned you not to eat the feathers.

My theory is that after the dance party it's reveled that since Ella was grounded she never got with prince charming and slowly Chloe starts disappearing and red has to go back and save her. It probably won't be the case cause at the end of rise of red chole and Ella hug, but it would've been cool

I know I’m a bit late on this but I would like to put my two cents on why Star Wars and Descendants were different situations. Star Wars, by the time Carrie Fisher died, was already moving on from the OG cast. Not in a way many fans enjoyed mind you, and Disney still fully planned to include members of the og cast somehow, but it was no longer Luke, Leia, and Hans’s show. It hadn’t been for quite a while, long before any og cast members passed. Additionally we should consider that, as far as I’m aware, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford didn’t call Disney disrespectful for continuing the movies without Carrie. In comparison: If I recall correctly Descendants had only just barely finished it’s og trilogy when Cameron Boyce died. That means his death was very fresh when the third and final movie came out, for his family, the cast, and fans. On top of that, many OG cast members (namely BooBoo, Dove, and Sofia) either spoke out against the sequel or expressed a distaste for being in the sequel, which fans rallied behind. It makes sense that Descendants fans would have strong feelings about a new movie and the idea that in doing so, Disney is being disrespectful to Cameron. In comparison to Star Wars where it was easier to accept.

What if Ella really wanted to dance with the prince but couldn’t get away from Bridget and uliana gives Ella the cupcake saying it’ll make Bridget fall asleep or something and Ella knows she can wake her up so she does it and it turns out to make Bridget into the monster

hi i just wanted to point out that the "war of the roses" in the rise of red is possibly a reference to the civil wars in england in the mid to late 15th century between the houses york and lancaster, which most of shakeapeare's histories (richard ii, the henries, richard iii) are based off/take place during :-)

I'm actually glad someone else isn't a massive fan of the tribute because if you're a heartless shrew, so am I. It felt like a ploy for sympathy ratings imo, like I don't mind that they continued the series but I think they needed to either find a better way to offer tribute, or not kill off the character - why couldn't he be off with the others? What happened to Cam was a tragedy and he deserves to be remembered but I don't know, I feel it would've been better to have his memory live on in his character.

22:12 I actually preferred the pacing of this movie rather than the first Descendants movie, one of my issues with it is that it was way too fast. I like a movie that gives itself time to expose the story and get us acquainted with the setting and characters, specially if they're gonna turn everything upside down as part of the main conflict. It feels like DCOMs kept getting faster and faster as the years went in (Newsies which is kinda a proto-DCOM takes its sweet time, it's 2 full hours long, HSM is a bit faster, and Descendants 1 was like everyone needed to get it over with to take the next train), I'm glad rise of red moved away from that

It's no secret that disney uses their IP to push imperialist, militaristic and pro US propaganda, they do it with marvel, and they do it with disney channel. They've pushed pro-establishment ideals on kids on disney channel for the longest time, Wizards of Waverly Place had a whole arc about how the very corrupt magic police and magic society is good actually, and painted those who wanted to rebel against it as villains. It's also no coincidence that they always make the villain of descendants a black woman and glamourize exactly all the white supremacist parts of the US in the form of Auradon and the isle of the lost. In the end, disney works for the establishment and the racist, colonialist and imperialist system that it exists and thrives under.

I think what annoyed me the most is that they don’t use the lore that already existed from the books and ‘wicked world’ and inventing new characters instead of using already established characters, like Genie Gothel, Anthony Tremaine, Harriet Hook, Goston the first and the second Or CJ Hook, Freddy Facilier, Ali daughter of Alice in wonderland, or Ruby daughter of Rapunzel! So many characters you can explore instead of inventing new characters!!!

I understand that descendants is stupid. It makes no sense but the fact of putting people on an island is not new. It has existed in history. The whole reason why Australia is even populated is because British people sent criminals to the island so kind of adds up.

Your rewrites had me talking about this series with a friend who hadnt really watched it and when i explained maleficent and hades’ bitter divorce(?) i pointed out how pain and panic werent characters and then made the joke they should’ve been, should’ve been just puppets when not shapeshifted and also. I think it’d be funny if maleficent got them in the split and they ended up taking care of Mal

This video came out on my birthday? A little to late to wish me happy birthday though 😅 I don't find this movie disrespectful at all. The songs were enjoyable, and the characters were cool enough. I enjoy the actors' chemistry even more than the og actors, because they feel more like a family here. RATINGS D1 6/10 D2 9/10 D3 8/10 D4 7/10

I honestly think makes all sense in the world for The Queen Of Hearts to not want to join Auradon as well look what happened to Queen Grimhilde (The Evil Queen) and presumably The Horned King and King Magnifico all dump into the open air prison and disinherited of there respective kingdom like why would the Queen Of Hearts want that

If i could change something would be making Maddox a teen and be Red friend, both go to Auradon (Maddox under the Queen of hearts orders to keep an eye on Red). And maybe add Aladdin's son as Chloe's friend? And these would be the main 4 of this new trilogy. Imagine Aladdin's son reaction to "call us jaladdin" lol. What i liked tbe most on descendants was the relationships and friendships, and this movie lacks that

OK here’s what I would’ve done with the Carlos photo thing, right? We are in fairy godmother‘s office Carlos was dating Jane, godmother‘s daughter couldn’t they have just had like a candid photo of Jane and Carlos like on her desk or something? Then it feels intentional verses the good old lifetouch portrait that is only there for the tribute.

The only take I have is Chad is he like the adopted son or was he recond I know he wasn't important to the movies but he was there.

I was so worried when I checked the timeline there’s only 30 minutes left but the plot still building up. The ending feels empty. I would like to see Red disappearing because Bridget is no longer evil. In present day, Chloe met the new Red which has an upgraded outfit

I thought the twist was gonna be that since the book froze the VKs (and that would have happened anyway), it turns out they were never the ones to do the prank, that it was Ella, and that's why in the future she was like "It as a stupid prank" which was really dismissive of something that clearly traumatized this woman. As for my guesses on what they changed in the past, maybe something to do with Chloe's parents? I really have no idea
