To bad you did not drive up from Hwy 395 at Conway Summit to Virginia Lakes/Trumbull Lake campground to see color
@@johncraig7823 on the way back we went up Virginia lakes rd just a couple of miles didn’t make it to the lake but we will next time
It was a fun day! Hopefully another one soon
Absolutely 👊
I love snags that move
lol. When it would stop fighting it felt like I was just caught on something.

Really cool footage! I was excited for those hook ups! Been following since the beginning, keep it coming 🤙🏼😎
Thanks man Appreciate it!!
how much?
Are you allowed to park along the highway ?
@@andrewvicente4209 I park in the day use area with the boat ramp . But I do see cars parked along the highway when I’m in the water.
Im gonna get that 20 bro! 😅
Yo! I’m driving from Las Vegas to sparks. I want to fish the truckee river. I’m happy to go anywhere and I’m happy to pay for a few hours help guiding me around to some good spots. Great video man!
SDO SuperSpoons? Lol...nice bro. Thank you for the s/o . This came on my feed. I watch this randomly. The barbless isn't helping . No skunk! You need a ultra light rod bro. That's why they pop off. Sub'd!
@@SuperDuperOutdoors pineapple express .. thanks for the tip bro I’m still new 👊
Schat's Bakery! Their squaw bread is the best! This is a great place to get a grilled tri-tip sandwich.
Caples lake is a beautiful impoundment. I got skunked and sunburnt there.
@@krwada I went 4 times and got skunked every time before this weekend… not a bad place to get skunked
@@UntilTheAdventureEnds I just subscribed to your channel. I love folks who take the time to go fishing in California ... especially Northern California. I just came back from a trip to the Lassen / Hat Creek area. It was my 1st time fishing these waters. I caught a very nice Brown at Lake Manzanita inside the park. I also caught and released 3 rainbows in Hat Creek at the Bridge picnic area. Hat Creek is very good in the fall. It took me about 1/2 hour to catch the rainbows. And yes, Caples lake is a very nice place. My problem was that I had no clue as to where to go, and the lake is huge. I did get a couple of bites over by the dam, (area you cover in this fine video). Most folks were sitting in lawn chairs near the inlet of the lake, (Eastern end). And, I noticed that you cover HWY 395 and the Bridgeport area. I caught and released 7 fish at Lake Sabrina a couple of years ago. Also, on that trip, I hiked up Bishop Pass and caught and released a bunch of very nice cutthroat trout in the high alpine lakes there.
@@krwada I am still new to this I just started finishing November. Iv been in the area for 23 years but it has always been just work and stress it’s nice to finally be able to enjoy surrounding area.
I hit that place last month Mosquitos 🦟 everyone I bounced lol
@@mainlyfishing4599 I went back about 2 weeks ago the water was really low

Lol looks like a pos 😅 no wonder no one likes hobie lol
You think thats rain lol
water falling from the sky, what is rain for you?
Summer's are rough at Eagle. The best fishing is in the fall after it gets cold, flies and jigs are best, 3# being about the average fish. We usually call the trash fish "white fish" (Tui Chub, I believe) and they school by the thousands all summer long. But it's still a beautiful lake, my family still has a house at the North end of the (now nonexistent) lake.
@@Apollyon-er4ut definitely be back in the fall. I’m learning summer fishing for trout is tough .
Dam brotha I was just there this past week with the fam and got skunked but still had a good time . My cousin caught a 5 1/2 pounder back in the 90’s in October up there I want to head back this fall.
@@vaquero7072 i’ll definitely be back in the fall
My guess is brown bullhead that you were catching or yellow perch. Didn't show a good closeup of fish to tell but it's either one of those.
going in a few days! what campsite were you at?
@@taylermduran grasshopper flat
nice to meet you, you did best footage- =)
Your at the right lake. Don't need a tube there. Go around lake by boat launch. Drive up hill to parking. S hort trail goes to point. Never do well with lures or flies. Crawlers and powerbait has always worked well. Move around a bit. Thefish seem to school so you go from having a bad day to a limit in half hour. Try other spots. Good luck
Thanks for the advice I’ll be going back for sure
Hey Man. Nice video. Glad you finally landed that nice brown. Where was that access at the Truckee?
Lockwood Trailhead
You need to go fish the top inlet in the fall if you want the big ones before they move into Robinson Creek you need to fish these things with big lures
Thanks for the advice I will definitely try it
If you're hunting big trout man I just suggest you don't use little rods like this guy that's about the stupidest thing you could ever do the whole little tiny rod seems to be like a California thing I'm a California native but you moved to Colorado years ago and when I got out of that state oh my God I'll never go back to fish Man it's way over fish the lakes do not produce good sized fish majority of the streams don't grow good enough plant who produced bug growth the mountains here are full of life and they're not like those granite hilltops that are just barren with 40-year-old 8-inch brook trout
Enthusiasm
Congrats!
You deserve more subscribers bro, keep up the grind.
