I had to make custom brackets using aluminum angle because I wanted the awning to sit close to the rooftop tent and as high up as I could go without interfering with the latch. I did a lot of searching on the web but didn’t really find anything. Maybe Intrepid will use my idea and make a few.

@@dougparis7095 agreed. I've also spoken with Intrepid about expanding the accessories for the rails. I 'm on the list for the FSR 270 awning, and I intend to make it work, whatever it takes, with my Geo 2.5. Thanks for the video! Very informative.

@@Greg-cs8ky The reason I went with the ARB awning is because it's 8'x8' so lots to coverage for rain or sun. Takes a little longer to put away than a FSR 270 awning but once you figure out the trick it goes pretty fast. I should probably make a video on the correct way to setup and put away the awing. Every TH-cam video I've seen the people are struggling to set it up or put it away.

@@dougparis7095 that would be great. I am also in touch with Kammock on their cantilever awning. I can actually see the case for a non-270 tent.

Yep, they are expensive, but I thoroughly researched a bunch of different rooftop tents and decided this was the best one.

The Intrepid Geo 2.5 is an excellent RTT. The quality, construction and durability are all top notch. I would absolutely purchase a Geo 2.5 if I needed another RTT. Intrepid is a creative and innovative company and they are constantly coming up with improvements to there products. Just buy the Geo 2.5 and you won't be disappointed. I'll be putting out another video in a couple of weeks doing a one year review on the Geo 2.5, plus I'll show how I mounted an ARB 8' awning to the RTT and how I mounted Maxtrax to the Intrepid Cross bars, yet another quality product! One more thing, If you don't own a 5 watt GMRS radio then buy the Rocky Talkie 5 watt GMRS radio, Yet another quality product coming out of Colorado and I highly recommend it. Final note: I purchased the Geo 2.5 and the Rocky Talkie with my own money. When I find a quality product I like to spread the word!

I’m 6’2”. When I’m on my knees putting the pole in to support the back of the tent, you can see how much height there is. I would think 51” is accurate. Time to put it back on the Land Cruiser soon!

Ordered the Intrepid Geo 2.5 and it is scheduled to ship next week. Can't wait, just finished installing my Rhino Rack Pioneer platform yesterday. I also have the 440# hoist in my barn so I'm ready for the install. I appreciate your video, thanks. No more ground tent camping for me. I'm also 6'2" and it appears to have all the room I'll need. Thanks again
