Bream Fishing on the Fitzroy river, Victoria
Had a long weekend coming up, so decided to head down to the Fitzroy river with a great mate to try our luck at some black bream. Camping on the banks of this little system, you can see why the fishing is so good in our south west coast estuary systems.

มุมมอง 2.4K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
Walkers Creek - We finally had a chance to get down to this creek crossing and give it a crack, It was magical to say the least. We Ditched the boat and went exploring inland along the Burke development road to find out if the water has dropped enough to fish a few different creeks that flow under the road. There is heaps to say the least, but the 1st few days of the trip, the First river cross...

Just a note. This isn't an impact crater, it's a volcanic maar.
Bloody love your video mate, just subscribed. Great idea fishing whilst sitting on a deck chair or milk crate, cheaper than a boat or a $300 charter!
Splendid fishing trip Steve, looking forward to your next one
Glad you enjoyed it
Best bang for buck, super strong handle. I don't see this knife ever getting broken
Hello, my name is Brody I really like your content. I also do fishing myself! I was wondering if you were interested in having your videos edited. I could probably do it for $25-$35 per video. Thank you, let me know if you’re interested.
Great session! Beautiful little spot the Fitzroy!
G'day Dave, yeah mate one of my fav's thats for sure
Some good Barra caught that day! 👌🏼

yeah mate, we could not have timed our trip better, all that flood water just improved it 10 fold. Thanks mate!
I want to purchase it But how ?
Anaconda
Please keep it Quite , we don’t any more Southerners up there, there’s enough of them down in Brisbane.
bit late now... Such a great place to fish too. this was only my 2nd trip up there, probably be my last. Only reason we come up is we don't have to pay for accommodation.
@@Fishingwithsteve Yes Steve it’s a Paradise, all of Far North Queensland.👍
Damn bro watch the fam around croc waters...
not my family mate, that kid is one of the locals kids, they just happen to be around when we were fishing.
Well done mate those are a couple of really well conditioned rainbows, I used to drive past that Lake a lot for work and always wanted to check it out
thanks mate, its a cracker place. perfect for a yak.
How big?
it went 90cms
👌🏼
Nice fish hey!
Real BIG Redfin in that lake just hard to fish with all the weeds
yeah i have seen some big ones, I have seen a 42 cm out of there, but I have heard of bigger models being caught

Nice Barra
thanks Michael
🌮 were 👌🏼
yes they were
Mad Ep! 🔥🔥🔥
still have at least 5 more to come
They are literally modern day dinosaurs. Awesome footage too
great creatures hey.
dont put music into video please
Please elaborate your reasoning? I put music into video's to break up the silence and cover wind noise. If you watch almost any fishing show on TV you will see almost all of them will have some sort of music overlay in them.
Tourists, sitting on the road at Brannigans on a major route where Trucks Travel ! Have a think about what your doing people ! Lived there a long time in the past and a great place to fish but respect where you are. After that fish wash measured all I can hope it was released as that was a Breeding Female at 90cm, However I highly doubt it was ! Anything from 80cm and above should be released as they are in the prime of either being Female Breeders or at the point of Turning from Male to Female. Not very cool people for all the Tourists to view. Take 60's and 70's for a feed as they are more than enough Fillets to feed a Family !!!
At time of filming the road was closed and no trucks could get through due to the corduroy being flooded, hence why we had to fly in to Karumba by chopper. We Do respect the place, its a great place with some brilliant people. We actually threw back more fish than we kept in the 2 weeks we were there, I am all about sustainable fishing, but your correct, this fish didn't go back, it was slaughtered had its gills cut to bleed out then put on ice. it was delicious fried up with a light breadcrumb mix and a few herbs and spices. However, I don't recall any of the locals throwing back any fish, didn't matter what size they were. They would be doing more damage to the fishery than the 52 Barra i caught for the entire 12 day trip. Plus the Barramundi discovery center is doing an extremely good job at breeding and re-stocking fingerlings into the Norman river. Sooo, that 90cm fish we took that day, probably didn't really do much damage when you think about it..
@@Fishingwithsteve Sorry mate, I angree with you until the end. Every Breeder contributes over a million eggs/fingerlings! taken out was that amount for next season given there are Pro Barra Netters in that area. You get my understanding !!!!
Nice fishing but being a mad tigers fan myself I can’t believe you went 6 casts without taking a sip 😂
lol The cans weren’t too far away 🍻 🐯
as Bowy said, the cans weren't far away at any point during the trip. Went through 4 blocks of 30 cans in 10 days
@@Fishingwithsteve That’s what I like to hear 😂😂
Looks a great part of the world... 👍
It really is! 2nd time here and it was an amazing place. I will be putting up a Video at the end of the series with a fly around showing how great it is
@@Fishingwithsteve 👍
Bet the wife gave ya a good talking when you got home 😶
nah, she found the funny side of it
Move!! If you get a fucking shark move! Oh and chuck in a big lure and go trolling, less chance. of a shark
yep, the trolling worked. The sharks were fun, we were keeping them for a feed as well
Ever thought of getting a landing net?
we had one in the Ute the whole trip and only remembered to use it in the last few days, We weren't really fussed if we landed them or not
@@Fishingwithsteve I was thinking more along the lines of not being croc food. Barramundi from fresh water isnt very good eating. But you got some great fish!
Abalone or snail
yep, big ramshorn snail
@@Fishingwithsteve ohh!!
Fantastic looking bit of country. Feet feeling itchy now. 0:52 ...nice bit of road. 😉
its a great part of the country, Fingers crossed we can get back up here next year. Hopefully the road isn't under water next time
It’s cheaper to get those gas canisters from Bunnings $6 for 4
yep, sure is. That's where i been getting them from for a while
Love it! Can't wait for more
the next ep will be released monday night
This was very well edited! Loved seeing all the surroundings on the sketching looking helicopter 🤣
Thanks mate, Its taken a bit longer to get the final edit thats for sure. Make sure you stick around for all the episodes...
Awesome
Glad everyone enjoyed it
Hahahhahahahaha
Iam from Louisiana we dont fish or hunt for fun. Hots sauce, grill, and pit.
We caught that many fish on this trip, We run out of room, so had to throw them back
I love fishing in flooded creeks because you never know what you will catch
true that.
love it.
all he wanted to do was fight with the drone
