With all the islands visited under the Tour A, this Big Lagoon is by far the best. The lagoon has shallow waters where one can disembark and have unlimited photo ops. Its deep waters can be pretty nerve-wrecking especially for someone who is trying kayaking for the first time. The Ambuklao Dam is part of the Hydroelectric Power Plant. Built along the Agno River, Ambuklao Hydrolectric Power Plant is one of the oldest power plants in the country. It started construction in 1950 and was opened in 1956. After its rehabilitation in 2011, it increased its capacity from 75 MW to 105 MW. The hydroelectric plant has an annual generation of 332 gigawatt hour (1,200 TJ).
