DIAPER RASH BE GONE | Cloth Safe Options to Reduce Redness & Irritation
In this video, I share with you my absolute favorite go-to redness reducing options that are cloth diaper safe.
I also share a NOT cloth diaper safe cream at the beginning of this video that will take away the most stubborn of rashes! So if you find yourself dealing with a super stubborn rash use this cream on your baby for 2-3 days by putting them in a disposable diaper so you can lather it on thick every diaper change OR if you want to use it with your cloth diapers you MUST use liners to protect your diapers from the cream.
Thank you so much for watching and I hope this video is useful & beneficial to you! Please let me know in the comments below what YOUR favorite cloth diaper safe go to's are :) Have a wonderful & blessed day everyone!

    I thought we do the bleach soak first to sanitize and then we do the strip with rlr. Maybe I read it wrong. I just bought some diapers from the market place too. Please let me how how to do it. It dont want to mess up the diapers

      For everything, clean first to properly sanitize.

    • @clothyoriginal
      @clothyoriginal หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can do it either way. The bleach first will kill any nasties and then the soak will help to remove it all out. If you have yeast in your diapers and you strip first, and rinse them out in your washer before the bleach soak then your washer will still have traces of yeast with the potential to reinfect your diapers after the bleach soak. A lot of people won't even do a "strip" just a bleach soak and wash with their regular diapers, this is great if the diapers look and smell OK and have no absorbency issues.

    Cold rinse first. Human secretions contain proteins that harden in hot or even lukewarm water, thus fixing the stain. You can wash your diapers however you like but you advise people the wrong method to get rid of stains.

    Do i spray diapers immediately after taking them off baby, or can i put them in the big wet bag to spray on wash day?

    • @kellywatts4895
      @kellywatts4895 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could do either but if left more than 2 days they can be harder to spray off ( if baby is only consuming milk ( either bf or ff)you don’t need to spray as poo before weaning is water soluble and can go straight in the washer) personally my babies are now 1 year and 2.5 I have a small wet bag on my stairs for poopy diapers and a big wet bag for inserts and wet ones if I don’t spray off straight away I know I’m not going to miss one accidentally

    • @taylorhinckley2309
      @taylorhinckley2309 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have found after 9 years or cloth diapering it really depends on the diaper material. If you use awj or micro suede pocket diapers, a few hours to 24hrs after the poo it seems to come off a bit easier as the inserts have soaked up the moisture of the poo so it poo kinda just falls off

    I absolutely hate Alva 😅 I'm so glad they work for you though! I have a skinny kiddo so the snap pattern didn't work, he got heat rashes from the Microsuede and they don't have a tummy panel. Have you tried any small shop brands? You don't realize how terrible the quality is of the Alvababy and especially Bumgenius until you try like a Happy Beehinds ez pocket or Good Village Cloth Co pocket diaper. I basically donated my Alvas because they were worthless on resales value

    • @mamalovescloth
      @mamalovescloth ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh man I’m so sad to hear you don’t like Alva! I truly love them🤣they fit my baby girl so well and are so easy to clean. But as far as quality goes you’re probably right, it’s probably not even close to the highest especially with the price point. But I guess I love the fact this diaper is so inexpensive and fits so well🥰 I’ll look into those brands you mentioned for sure, I’ve heard of both of them but have not tried anything from them.

    How long can they stay in storage before wash?

    • @mamalovescloth
      @mamalovescloth ปีที่แล้ว

      I keep mine in there only about 2-5 days. If you plan to keep them on the longer end though I would personally get in the habit of spraying out even the pee diapers. The urine breaks down into an ammonia after sitting for a bit so definitely rinse those if you can. Especially the night time/nap ones🥰

      @@mamalovescloth all advice is to never use any sort of bleach as that will destroy the waterproof layer or the PUL, and any natural fibers too. The temperature should rarely go above 140 F for the same reasons, although if the diapers need to be stripped due to any potential smells, a higher temp every so often is typically ok. I don't know how hot your 'hot' setting is, so I thought I would mention that. From what I have heard, bleach can stay in the fabric and then that chemical is touching babies most sensitive skin which can cause many issues. A full scoop of detergent is way too much even just for clothes (think about it, the company wants people to use more product so that they're coming back and buying it more often. 1/2 a scoop is probably good enough to be perfectly honest. The waterproof layer can be quite fragile when it comes to heat, the elastic will perish much quicker with heat too and it isn't recommended they go in the dryer if you can help it. I hope this information helps you :)
