how hard was this to learn?
I'd say It was pretty tricky especially with 3's across the drums, but it was it's not the most difficult feature out there. I'm not the greatest at reading sheet music and I'm not a fast learner, so it took me around 3 days to learn the feature. Don't get me wrong, it's really fun to play once you clean it up of all the rim ticks.

I too hate it when OBS decides to filter out the death sound effect making your run indistinguishable from a speedhacked one
No, that wasn't the problem. The problem is that OBS shows a blank screen for about 2 seconds after switching to a full screen application. The death sound not playing was most likely an audio glitch since it played the following attempts. But yeah, the blank screen at the beginning could make it look like the run was tampered with.
