1971 Street/Strip Nova Almost Ready For Paint👀
We are getting super close to being able to get some paint on the Rollcage of our 1971 Nova. Being winter time here in Chicago and being able extremely busy at the shop, I decided to have a good friend of mine do the paint work. He painted several of my cars in the past, and his paint work is some of the best I’ve ever seen. Stay tuned for the details on painter and the paint in the next video!

Where is this shop? Or the name of it? I didn't see any info in the description.
Good job, very hard to hear you though.

One of my favorite years. 70 to 73 were my best years in the Camaro. Actually from 69 to 73. But 70 to 73 have the same body style
What’s with the crappy music? What’s the point of a musclecar video if we can’t hear the muscle car .. I couldn’t watch the whole thing
@@Guitarwannabee If you read the comments before you post about the music, it explains why!!!!!

Do you have to take the distributor apart to change out the bushing? What degree bushing did you end up using? Would the engine be hard to start at 20 degree initial if you don’t have that MSD box?Enjoyed the videos! Thanks
Yes, I believe I had a 18 or 20 degree bushing. You can do it without taking it apart but it’s easier to take it apart. You should be able to start it at 20 but if it is hard to crank and you don’t have an Msd box. Msd sells a start retard module that we have used with good results. Thanks for watching!
Now that’s a nice piece.
@@evanmeneilley3228 Thanks man👍👍
Almost worth watching, but I couldn't get past the locomotive blaring its horn😵💫 maybe turn off the air compressor next video...

@@FFRCsomething is keeping that thing starving for flow once it starts spinning. Is it a wide LSA, tiny intake ports or what?
@ it has a very small cam in it I was told.
@@FFRCThanks again Aaron! Ya it’s a Comp Cams Extreme Energy, .510/.520 lift, .230/.236 @ .050”.. Great idle, dependability, and vacuum not to mention easy on the valve train. Got the idea from Jeff Smiths garage.

Hideous shifter & tach
Well out of the 40 thousand people who liked them, you are the first dislike lol. 🤷♂️
Sounded like it bogged a pinch at the beginning of 2nd but climbed out of it. Sounds killer.
The 049 and 781s can be made to flow really good by greatly opening the intake port face, because, the rest of the port is much bigger inside ! Also dont push the old guides out, it will be hard to seal them up ,instead driil and ream them for SBC press in guides, also order 2.190 Int. And 1.88 EX. Or they make a 2.300 intake also with 11.32cd. SBC stem for your Big Bad Chevy.. Using the sbc guide size helps flow a little also !
@@PeggyParrow I agree we did a set of 781’s recently, ported and put in 2.190’s and 1.88’s on a 496bbc and it made great power👍
Getting ready for my first complete engine build , I’ve watched your 5 part videos multiple times, thank you!! Is the cam an out-of-box or a custom grind? I’d really appreciate a part number if possible!?!! Thanks again
You are very welcome! Hope it helps you out👍and good luck on your build! The camshaft is ISkY Part# 396275/284
I just get my grinder out and take it down to where I need it.
What is HP and Torque?
So why did you not measure for the correct length of pushrods to be used for this build?? And do or proper rocker tip to top center of the valve stem??
Yes, we absolutely do. We use an adjustable pushrod. We get the proper length by checking the sweep of the rocker tip on top of the valve. We like to use a sharpie for the markings.
Lifters have been a problem for a while now if I find quality new old stock say 15 years back they are gold. Can't wait to see the numbers I'm guessing 625 hp at 6600
Who is paying $7000 for a big block? This guy!!! Tell me how to order! NOW!!
Man I love the movie love the car and love the way the motor came out man ! I’ve been looking for 2 lane blacktop top on dvd but can’t find it ! Man that things sweet and super crisp. !

Very true lol😂😂
I'm currently building a 427 using rectangular port heads @10:1 using an isky 275/284 duration with 553/578 0n a 111 centerline grind. My area is at an average elevation of 4600 feet. I will set the cam in at a 109 centerline. the odd centerline was a mistake by the machinist, so i got it anyway. I actually wanted a 110 center line to set up at 108. for this elevation (since I don't have access to a dyno) what would, in your expert opinion be for a starting power valve and jet sizing be for a holley 750?
I would start with a 6.5. But put a vacuum gauge on it to be sure. Select a power valve 1/2 of what your vacuum reads.
What's the horsepower
You have to watch the video lol
Yep a battery an 3ft of wire it ran .today's anti theft device is a 3 pedal floor board
You are right, in the old days, you didn't need much to get it going.
Awesome work brother luv seeing the stuff yall build . Keep them coming
Thanks brother! Will do👍
I hope you're not just pushing in so much are like it's a supercharger I hope you're just slowly pushing air in
No fan, just fresh air intake.
