How to make Cowboy Bread
Recipe for 1/2 batch (from video):
16 oz. warm water
1/2 package of 0.25 oz. active dry yeast
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup sugar
approximately 1/4 of a 5 lb. bag of flour
Recipe for full batch:
32 oz. warm water
1 package of 0.25 oz. active dry yeast
2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar
approximately 1/2 of a 5 lb. bag of flour
Directions:
1. Place warm water in large bowl, mix in yeast and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
2. Mix in salt, sugar and add flour a little at a time and mix until you reach a tacky consistency.
3. Cover hands in oil and pour about a tablespoon of oil on the dough and spread all over the outside of the dough and the inside of the bowl.
4. Cover bowl with damp cloth or paper towel and let sit for 1-2 hours. (2 hours is best)
5. Uncover, beat down dough, cover again and let sit for 45 min to 1 hour.
6. Heat skillet, pan, griddle, etc. to a medium-medium low heat and put a small amount of oil in right before you start frying.
7. Place small bowl of flour next to your dough bowl, coat your hands and sprinkle a small amount of flour on the dough. (it prevents sticking)
8. Pull a small to medium sized piece off of the dough and slightly pull it outward while turning it.
9. Place in pan and use as a test piece to see if your pan is the right temp.
10. If pan is a good temp., fill up the rest of pan with pieces.
11. Once you have a full pan, 3-4 pieces, check your first piece to see if it needs to be flipped. (check for browning underneath and make sure it's not burning. If nice brown edges form, flip.
12. Cook other side to same consistency
13. Place finished bread in bowl, container with paper towel.
14. Enjoy!
15. Package leftover bread in a plastic or paper bag. Bread usually stays good for a couple days out on the counter. It is very good when you heat it back up in the toaster.

Best tutorial for this that there is. Most informative.
Does the numbers have any correlation to the dream catcher itself? Like the number of segments just wondering bc it sort of reminds me of sacred geometry and fractals in a way .
Idk where this guy went, but he should come back and make more videos.. we need more content like he makes!!!
Thank you for sharing i go try this too 😊❤
Oh n it might have been easier to just do a slip knot for the lace instead of tying a knot
Hey what tribe are u from? I thought I heard you speaking Navajo but ur accent doesn't sound like you're from the 4 corners area. Beautiful work!!
i started one and i got 24 for the top do i still go through every 4th bead or what number should i go with
Make more videos.
I asked my mom about making cowboy bread because nothing online looked like this! She sent me this and now I’m happy. Cool to see this channel representing this stuff.
Thank you for being more thorough than all the other videos ive watched!
Hey, where'd you go I love all your videos. They're very informative and I really learned a lot on a few things that I wasn't sure about we are in the east side of turtle island
I'd leave the berries for reproduction.
This was so helpful, thank you!! Perfect tutorial. I used 11” hoops and almost a whole spool of 3/16 deerskin lace on each one. You could go as high as 12” hoops with one spool. Tandy leather has great quality leather laces, leather scissors, artificial sinew, etc.
Where do you get the leather lace? I need black. But I'm not seeing it on ebay.
I'm impressed with how well you showed & explained this. I'm just a little confused about how you did the middle differently. What did you do differently than the rest?
Instead of going into each hole from the back like on the rest and then making a little knot you go in from the front on each hole. You also don’t loop back through anything you just keep going through the front of each loop. Go back to the start of ending it and you’ll see the difference.
I just watch all 3 videos and I can say, there are the clearest tutorials I’ve seen. Your calm teaching technique is fantastic. Please keep it up. Thank you!
Thankyou for sharing this. Your calm, paced style makes it straight forward to follow along. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The best tutorial I could find thank you so much!!
Commas- 😁😁😁
Thank you for the tutorial.
I have 40 beads on the top of my bulb. What numbers am i using to count where i put the needle in?
Go in every 4th bead. That will give u 10 loops.
Emery 5 will give you 8 loops.

Where did you get 11 for the next row after the first?
I've been looking for this stitch forever. I learned it in school when I was little on my rez. I want to make a necklace but I can't remember how to do edges
It's basically peyote stitch. Just look up peyote stitch edging on TH-cam or Google and you'll find something you like.
Thank you for teaching
What size bead?
Kk
very good explainer :)!
thank you
Thank you. I've been watching people do this for a month. You're the first one to do it on the ball. That really put into perspective how easy it is. 😊
Great video! Thank you
You explained this very well, I’ve always wondered how these were made and now I want to try!
Excellent video and instructions. Thank you for your time and sharing. May the Creator bless you and your family.
Is it ok if they have red on them?
Yes! According to “Foraging New England” the reddish ones have the most intense flavor
What size beads do you use
It appears he’s using 11/0 Delica beads and 11/0 seed beads for the colored bead.
What size hoop are you using and how long is the leather wrap?
I’d like to know as well. I’m afraid I’ll end up not having enough or wasting a bunch
@@toolsloth2908if it’s helpful I did an 11” handmade hoop with 36 feet of leather lace. Just don’t overlap your leather and you’ll be fine. Line up each subsequent leather wrap side by side.

These ornaments are so beautiful. Thank you for making these videos!
Awesome, thank you for sharing!
I just found your video , Thank you for sharing I have a bit larger bulb , I think it would need 42 beads is that ok ,will it still work ?
Yes. Every 6 th bead it will give you 7 loops for the next row.
You have such a soothing voice.
Great job … I’m gonna try this as gifts this years 2022 … thank you
Thank you for sharing this!
Would you know what size beads you used?
size 11 beads
@@Pureandsubtle Thank you very much
How many do you increase by on each row
Thank you for showing what to do and it doesn't look to hard. I have a special young lady that is spending her 1st Christmas with her fiancee and I know this will make a beautiful present.
