Saosin - Pat McGrath performing Lost Symphonies
AWESOME Surprise appearance by Pat McGrath at the Showcase Theatre in Corona , CA. performing Lost Symphonies. This was so awesome. I couldn't believe my eyes and couldn't believe I had my camera with me. Unfortunately my Camera gave me problems towards the end of the song so it got cut off I got so pissed, and fixed my camera to late, Pat was already done. So yeah sorry about that one. =\

Saosin performing Seven Years at Showcase Theatre in Corona, CA. Awesome show.
just discovered saosin somewhat recently as someone who was only 9 in 2008 and god the drumming is absolutely blowing my mind. thanks for uploading this.
SAOSINNNNN
It's actually Pat Magrath and not Pat Mcgrath.
Last show at showcase
Oh fuck I was there
This gives me chills! I can clearly remember everything that night.🖤 almost 10 years ago. My first concert when I was 16. Thanks for the video!!!! :')
Played on one of the most overlooked late 90's metal band th-cam.com/video/E7ppvQYJt-U/w-d-xo.html
Can anyone tell me who is pat?
Pat's one of the best LA drummers ever. His drumming make Saosin's first record.
He was my drum teacher way back in the day.
Brady Bluhm IMO he's one of the best ever .
He's a drum teacher and was a drum tech for Paul Bostaph in Slayer.
Showcase Theater!!!! I miss that place. Saw a ton of awesome bands at that venue.
Pat McGrath's drumming and Anthony Green's voice made Translating the Name my favorite post-hardcore EP of all time.
You said it best my friend
That's right.
i wonder what is alex doing?
@tehgreyyy YES. yr right. the faq on the soasin forum is wrong - he did actually play drums for slayer. he played in a metallica cover band anyway, so it's pretty clear he can play that style of music.
Pat Mcgrath didn't drum or guitar tech for slayer. HE PLAYED DRUMS FOR SLAYER. Biggest misconception that he was their tech, think about it, why would a drummer be a guitar tech anyway. Check the wiki page, or better yet, message Pat on his myspace personally and ask him. That's what I did and he confirmed it. He joined Slayer after Dave Lombardo left, yet became friends with Dave and didn't feel right taking his place, and didn't agree with certain things he had to do for the band.
Pat McGrath is the former drum tech of Slayer. he provided percussion for Saosin's translating the name EP, when Anthony Green was the vocalist. Therefore, he is essentially responsible for creating the drumline to this song.
Pat is an amazing drummer! He created the drum line on the verse of "They Perched." It's one of the best drum lines of the 21st Century!
Man i remember cove saying there were gona have a special guest come out 2 help them out with a song, and i was like fuck it's gona be anthony green cuz this is where saosin's first show was at, but then they said pat mcgrath, kinda dissapointed but still awesome, he kills it on the drums
haha!. sweet.. the fans went crazy. :D by the way. two thumbs up for Pat .. you're a legend man.
studio drummer that played on a Saosin record ;)
i wouldnt say former drummer. more like the dude who played the drums on Translating the name
yeah
Anyone who wastes his time on youtube saying who is better is mentally deficient. I came here to listen to Saosin, not to hear some kids 'debate' about how awesome Green was(n't).
damn thats so cool!!!!!
interesting show as for the alex and pat comment. you can't compare a professional drummer/teacher to a performer. trust me. it doesnt make me any cooler or better than anyone but i was a student of pats. i miss alex in open hand...those were good days
Get this guy out of here.
He was/is the drum tech for Slayer.
aw, i was there. that was the final showcase show. i remember these girls at the front of the stage were bitching and whining about getting squished. my buddy got patted down by the cops right after this show ended.
Exactly like on the EP. Pat's drumming on that is amazing. Now, if only Anthony made a guest appearance this day too ;)
there were some parts during saosin that had decent pits lol the pushing got a bit annoying but i danced a bit there were a ton of newjacks though either way it was pretty chill no real negativity between people
if u notice alex cannot play any of the old ep songs as well as pat! pat did one song live and it sounded the same as it did on the cd! obviouslyly pat is not immitating alex's style. pat was a drum tech for slayer by the way. i doubt he needs to mimic someone elses work. alex is good in his own style but pat's style is way more complicated!
i think he was video recording pat mcgrath.
wait. where'd you find these instrumental demos? do you have a link ? that'd be awsome
just mah opinion. if pat was suppose to mimic alex's style. he didnt do a very good job. pat has a style all in his own. hes a machine.
ok i see
i know all about that. i wasnt saying you were making it up. its just these demo songs i have make me wonder. and like i said before. the way pat plays sounds nothing like the way alex does...
uh, i read it in an interview, alex was in a band and they couldnt get him so they hired pat and told him to imitate some of Alex's drumming. i wasnt making that up lol. they say it all the time. Pat is amazing, but they needed him to do something specific.
i see. an honest answer... i like that. i personally like alex as well. but the way i am basing mah opinion is just by the way they play. i think pat plays shit way more technical than alex, making it way harder to imitate. in mah opinion, if you can play drum beats that nobody else can play. you are a fuckin god. thats what i think.
i am a drummer. and i wasnt basing my opinion off fact. i was just saying it because alex is fucking amazing. i dont know much about pat. for all i know he could be a god in the drum world. i personally just love alex
i always thought that was true... but i recently found these instrumental songs of all the translating the name ep songs. and it sounds to me like pat took those beats and turned them into his own shit. so i question if that info is true or not. in the new saosin songs, alex has nothing remotely close to how pat was supposedly suppose to try and copy alex's style...
i have one question for you... are you a drummer?
im gonna have to say alex pwns pat. sorry
they told pat to imitate Alex's style for TTN cuz Alex was in a another band at the time.
fuck!!! i wished i was at this show! pat owns alex by far. i miss those days...
PAT! CANT BELIEVE I MISSED THIS SHOW! was this the only song he played in
i was there. a split second you can see cove touching someones head/face, thats me!!! 16th saoshow!! one of the best, except my boyfriend got a lil hurt. im sooo used to it though.
wow. those people were insanee! i wish i lived in california. ha i wish all saosin shows were like that hah.
yes please, i was gonna ask you on the message board but i figured you would put it up eventually!
and theres me on the right hand corner picking up the mic stands that kids knock over
holy shit on the guy jumping on stage
