I am an Industrial Refrigeration and Compression tech serving Canadian industry for about 20 years. I want to share some of my knowledge and spread awareness to the refrigeration industry. A lot of my focus will be on Vilter compressors as I am currently represent Vilter Manufacturing in Canada for Copeland Canada.
I have always appreciated Vilter compressors for their design differences for refrigeration compressors but will make attempts at discussing other manufacturers and topics.

Vilter HPLD CO2 system oil filter change

Come with me and replace the oil filter on a Vilter HPLD CO2 package. It is a pretty typical and straight forward procedure with a couple of differences with the filter housing itself. The CO2 housing is built to withstand the high operating pressures of CO2 trans-critical systems and has heavier bowl with a different type of securement and seals (an o-ring AND a Teflon ring).
