I have a reservation at this hotel coming up and sometimes I get a quick film of the elevator. Looks like you beat me to it and I'll already know what to expect.

Bruh that sucks. Yes it was a risk, but still you expect elevators like this to have an automatic last floor or home (ground floor) recall in case of a serious malfunction. I hate seeing this happen, and you can hear just by your voice that panic was setting in. Did they ever determine the cause of the malfunction? Was it those decommissioned rear doors possibly not properly welded in place so when you put your arm on them they moved and indicated a door open mid travel? Curious how elevators that see pretty frequent use could either not employ properly maintained safety systems, or have a malfunctioning recall. Makes a person wonder how many others have gotten stuck in these.

That security guard was rude. (This is just my opinion) He said "What are you guys doin'?!" "Uh, leave." I think he should have let you guys go or said something like "I'm really sorry, but we don't allow filming here unfortunately. Can you maybe turn the video camera off? Sorry about that." Great video though!
