headlights shorting and flickering? change out your headlight harness vs replacing the whole unit. i did this to my sisters 2008 c350. i personally think its stupid for mercedes to design it this way but thats how they make money. paid $60-70 for both harness set. thanks for watching
g35 head light restore

redid my head light with wet sand 600-1500 grit. laid down the clear coat and it fogs up. im thinking the temp outside had a huge factor as to why it fogged up.

how to install valve stem seals

first off sorry for the poor video angle my wife provided. this is how i change my valve steam seals. removing and installing the valve spring and valve lock. i have done this to all my builds with similar type heads and have had no issues. this is a 2jzge head. let me know if this helps u in the comments.

It will leak through the ring gaps.

How’s it holding? Pressure plate didn’t break?
All fluid will eventually leak through , thinner the fluid the easier it will go through the gaps, not a good way to check, stick to pressure test and proper cylinder leak down test.

cant remember for sure but i think it had something to do with fuel pressure. unplugged was just real rich
U have to put all pistons level at the same height at the bottom and put diesel in it

A compression test is better You don't have to take the head off , only fuel injector (disel) Or spark plug (gasoline)

how hard was the swap ? it all bolts up right?
swap was done by previous owner. if ur looking to make some power i wouldn’t recommend it.
Deff not how u check rings... rings sapposed to have some sort of gap between em they arenot 100% sealing
Ring ends are usually around 15thou so there will be some leakage eventually

Thanks man! I had a blown head gasket or something similar (cracked/warped head, etc) and I’m planning on trying this either this way or with oil to see if the rings are still good since I have to get it registered within 30 days for insurance reasons (I’m hopefully getting my license soon and I got my policy on that car) and it would also save money to not replace them too, not just labor. Honestly as long as it runs and doesn’t slowly wear itself much worse I might just get it to pass the inspection and if problems arise or it leaks badly I’ll see about pulling the whole engine for a thorough rebuild.

Sounds like you need more initial ignition timing
When you eliminated the cold start valve that has an additional fuel spray that helps when the Z is in cold startup
Did you clean those pistons ontop before putting the fuel

Hello, How long do you have to wait for this test? I poured oil into a cylinder and there was no apparent leak after letting it sit there overnight. The following afternoon, I noticed it went down a little. So, eventually the fuel/fluid will go past the piston rings if it sits long enough.
I think overnight is long enough to test. I had low compression in one cylinder and tested this way (with oil). The next day the low compression cylinder oil had leaked out, but not in the other cylinders. So I honed the cylinder(s), put in new rings, and tested again with no more leak downs. My machinist said to use mineral oil.

All in the air compressor, cheap sandblaster and big compressor will be good. Expensive blaster, small compressor will be shocking
Mine was pointed the opposite way of where it was supposed to. Mine started having issues randomly on the road it would shut off out of nowhere then 5-10mins it would start back up again.
i got tired of playing with i mine. but from the sounds of it ur oil pump shaft maybe off by 180 degree or ur distributor it self might have slipped. i gave up and left it the way i had it in the video but its all good now timing at 24.hope u get urs corrected

I don't know my guess is gas is just better because it's really thin most oil is a lot thicker in comparison

Alfredo Rios not necessarily only if it leaks real quick but if u have play in the pistons side to side then yeah ur rings r worn and will need replacing

Got the same Clutch on my project but haven't finished and gotten it on the streets yet. How do you like it does it Grab good? Not wanting to pop clutched left and right but I'm hoping it grabs good and doesn't slip
Jose Luis Barajas i havent really drove the car yet furthest about 20yrds my piston rings r prob bad from the build so ill be putting new rings soon
Previous issue was the rings/pistons?
Peter Syravong did a full rebuild but the rings failed again with old injectors and fuel pressure at 40psi ill be tearing it down once more to replace rings to stop excessive smoke ill be updating in a month or 2 jus the holidays got me running wild
@@alvinheu Ah ok, my previous motor had a ring issue too - smoke and blow by. Ended up getting another motor and upgraded lots of bolt ons/etc.
Peter Syravong smoked really bad but no blow by after extensive research im thinking it bad rings from fuel washing

what is the fuel pressure with the engine off and the pump on.
Dave WM same right about 22-24psi cant figure y but i can hear my fpr releasing fuel back to the tank with ignition on without start and when i shit it off it stay up there and slowly comes down i mean slowly after 10-15min itll reach almost below 5psi
FSM has details, it is not as far you can go (to far) and not flush (not far enough).
