2364 2332 2316 Re-Programmable ROM Replacement
Talking about my new board that replaces the 2364, 2332, and 2316 ROM chips found in many retro computers. It is re-programmable and designed to use low cost parts.
The project is available on PCBWay Shared Projects. I am looking into setting up a github page to host this project and I will update this videos description with the link once its available.
Here are the links to PCBWay Shared Projects pages.

    I cannot understand the BOM of this board. The one on PCBWay downloads an HTML file but when I open it with HTML viewer I get a useless page.

    I'd heard the GAL PLA had been tested with the Super Zaxxon cart and that it worked perfectly. Can you remember where you heard there was an issue? The MOS logic chips are so cheap to replace, I'd just replace all of them even though I don't really like just replacing chips.

      I can't remember where, but I feel like I heard that GAL replacements are like 98 or 99 percent compatible. Excellent! How does this differ from a RoadShow install?

    • @The_Retro_Dungeon
      @The_Retro_Dungeon 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The setup for Roadshow is nearly identical. You just install it instead of Miami. If I remember correctly, Roadshow's installer will add lines to the Startup-sequence to run the wirelessmanager at startup, although, you'd have to modify the commands to use wifipi.device if you wanted it to start automatically. The only reason I used Miami instead of Roadshow is because, if you don't register Roadshow, you can only use it for 15 minutes before you have to reset the Amiga. Roadshow has the benefit of still being maintained and developed as well...

    Another common failure is the RAM. The original power supply Commodore provided were prone to failure. One indication is the 5v rail. As the power supply ages, the voltage tends to rise. If it rises beyond 5.2 volts, then the RAM chips are the first to go. It’s usually best to test the power supply every so often and replace it when it does go bad.

    The heavy lid was a sound shield. It was unbearable without it. Just noticed the darkness adjustment. The user could move the head closer to milk every last drop of ink. A single pin head struck a 7 position drum behind the paper. Did not know about the spring loaded head return. Motors were so expensive in those days, a single motor was all you got. The clutch seems to also send power to the tractor feed when the head retracts.

      I cut it 21-13/16ths" x 16-15/16ths" but the only cut that is really critical is the 21-13/16ths, I tried to make it just about an 8th bigger than the width of the display. The other measurement could be cut bigger since it doesn't support the screen. You could cut it slightly bigger to allow a small amount of adjustment.

    Check out C0pperdragon's VICdigitizer (LumaCode) for Commodore 128. It's a simple, solderless (but better with a little soldering) FPGA shim that goes into the VIC socket, under the existing chip, outputting a digital signal over the existing RF output. That RF out plugs into a cheap RGB2HDMI box based on Raspberry Pi Zero. The chip (which you'll need for each computer you want to convert to digital video out) is US$39, and you only need to build a single RGB2HDMI box for about US$75. I just got my Atari 1200XL, which had terrible jailbars, converted to amazing, clear HDMI out through this solution. th-cam.com/video/fbkJCWFwEmQ/w-d-xo.html
