Good video, thanks for posting.
Good placement of the camera, shows how the controls work as well as the log being cut. How long of a log can this saw cut, also wondering the hp of this model. Thanks.
Did you order the electric winch kit from woodmizer? Or was it an aftermarket upgrade from the handcrank winch regular log turning kit.
nice cedar but where's your particulate mask?
Do you have any dislikes about that type of turner? I built a nice chain turner but before I got it installed my place was robbed and it was one of the items they stole. I put nearly a week into that thing and just don't have the heart to build another one or the $$$ for the matter. It's just that I haven't spoken to anyone using a cable claw turner. Like with it is there something that needs improvement to make it work better?
Hi Charles, Did you remove an original hand crank cable winch and replace it with an electric? What size did you choose for the electric? I ask because I am looking at a used LT30 that has the hand cranked winch to run the log turner and I think your system is MUCH better. Thank you. Ron in Missouri
+Ronald Carroll The winch I used was a 3700 Warn but I have also used a 2500 lb winch. The 3700 was faster. And yes, I did remove the original hand crank winch to install the 12 volt electric. Way better than the manual.
I was sawing a little over one inch thick so after drying the boards can be planed to 3/4 to 7/8 for furniture.
Wouldn't you be better off cutting thicker cants so you can plane/joint after it dries?
Hi Mr. Barnes That is a great power feed. Is there any chance you might have a drawing for it? I would love to get someone to put it on my Hudson Oscar 30. How did you get the idea? Could do with you over here in Ireland. Any chance you coming this way?
Charles, I have some questions on your power feed. 1) What power is the electric motor? 2) Is it variable speed? 3) What controller are you using for the joystick? 4) Is that rope that goes around the drum or chain? Thanks.
Would a 10hp work good for maple wood? I'm actually a 15 year old high school student with my own carpentry business called S.V carpentry. Iv started out with just building adirondack chairs and I'moving up to 3-4 thousand dollar maple/cherry tables. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you Charles
That is a 10HP Briggs and Stratton. Does a fairly good job on that Hudson Mill.
What hp of engine is that?
Red Saw Dust :)
Where was this filmed?
Can one buy that log turner seperately?
