very much nailed my thoughts on the head. i thought this movie was more of a 'turning red' than a definitive inside out 2. the first movie definitely had some more heartfelt emotions and touching on the drastic ideas a tween would have 😅 what i did like about this movie is the fact that anxiety wasnt necessarily the villian since she overall had good intentions. and the twist in the movie of what she was crafting absolutely took me off guard really. i think they handled it well and I can understand the message even on a surface level. the fact anxiety was forgiven too instead of outright banished teaches their audience to manage rather than frustrate and bury, which is impossible. its a surprisingly good sequel considering the internet's perception of just seeing the sheer amount of characters that they added. i definitely think they had too MANY characters in general, but i enjoyed the movie. cool review and i dig y'alls chemistry!

Was waiting on this one-I actually got the chance to preview this back at the end of February and it was SO hard not to talk about it. I def think there could have been more world building but it also could have messed with the pacing as it feels a lot longer than 1hr 45 but in a good way. Much more of a thinker and experience but it makes sense why people would be disappointed since it’s REALLY marketed like an action movie.

journalists would be targeted, no journalist would give a balanced perspective on why both sides are fighting for their positions. Journalism isnt reporting anymore, its spinning their position.

Thanks for watching this one. I think this movie was a lot of fun. I personally believe that it still was all in his head just because a lot of things that made it “real” seemed kinda ridiculous, just like the “game”. I didn’t expect your guys opinion to split so perfectly but that’s a testament to the storytelling. Im not sure how legit this is but I read an article that described how Johnson gave this movie the ending it has to give it a “definitive ending” due to test audiences when this originally screened years ago, pre Covid and even pre Disney buying 20th Century Fox, hence why it got a home on Hulu. I need to watch more Jake Johnson, I love him in both Spiderverse movies and Tag, as well as what I have seen of New Girl. Will def give it a rewatch, as I’m currently sitting at around a 75 myself. Thanks again!

New holiday favorite for me. Incredibly cozy and though serious enough, still has enough warmth and goodwill that makes a proper Christmastime movie. Glad you guys were able to watch!

Since a Star Is Born I’ve made sure to research movie content at least a little before I go see one as it was really surprising and I have been affected by suicide in my own life. That being said, this is the first time in my experience it’s happened and was factual, which in ways makes it harder. I don’t think I’ll watch it myself but will be sure to recommend-just hearing y’all talk about the ending had me choking up. Glad there was somewhat of a happy ending after all that.

Was a fan of this one. Was far from perfect but I love movies that are just cool to watch. I know that's not the best way to look at every film but being a visual medium, I think it's worth noting. Will have to eventually cop on blu ray to support.

Hey I'm sorry but I think you guys completely missed the point and most of the symbolism in this movie that being said it is a slow burn and I'm not nearly smart enough to explain all the symbolism in the film I would suggest you watch it again especially paying attention to who and what the animals represent this movie is way deeper than you guys think it is like your show

Separate note: interesting that Aidan compared The Bug to Nite Owl’s Machine in Watchmen- Nite Owl was originally supposed to be Blue Beetle in the original comic, until Alan Moore understandably didn’t want the heroes to be tied to any sort of continuity. Aidan also referenced Watchmen in the Kick-Ass review….will the Small Guys do a Watchmen rewind next year for its 15th anniversary? I may be making a video about it too 👀

I had a good time with the movie. Wasn’t groundbreaking but the family was great and for once a comic book decided to care about its protagonist as a person first versus “whoa look at these cool powers!”

First review I’ve listened to where I haven’t seen the movie…don’t plan on it. Calling Birdman a bad movie is wild tho

I liked Xolo and the whole family dynamic. The action was also a lot of fun. The movie was just a little too underdeveloped and generic for me with terrible villains. While I had a decent time I do think it was forgettable. I wouldn’t mind seeing Xolo continue in the DCU though.

The versions of the turtles in this movie were different from the ones I grew up with, but the core of the characters and what made them iconic was still there. Even Super Fly was a pretty good villain. Overall it was pretty endearing, and fun! So I had a good time with it. Great video! Keep up the great work!

I enjoyed watching it weekly for the performances and to see where it was going. Where it went and how in the end though really didn’t work for me and made the rest of the show feel very lacklustre looking back at it as a whole. Still glad I watched it, but walked away more dissatisfied than satisfied sadly.

Love Wes Anderson; was personally a really big fan of this the first time I watched it and was surprised it was a mixed bag for people but this can be a lot if you haven’t seen his other works. Nickpal was not impressed so I made sure to show him Grand Budapest which he enjoyed. Also Brian is the goat for that “Wes” joke, I cracked up

Ahh I love this movie! Its funny as hell, but just hits differant when you work a 9-5 it doas just make you pause the movie and internally rant about things that happen in that job haha. New subscriber for sure btw, Great channel.

Some of these takes were…interesting to be polite lol I actually love Thor 1 and despise Ragnarok. But I do understand a lot of these points. I personally would have voted Endgame over Infinity War because they are both great but I feel like Endgame has more of a story even if it takes time to get there. Also found it interesting how y’all said “As a critic” and picked Infinity War despite Endgame having higher review scores 👀 this is the only one I’ll be snobby on as a fellow comic nerd haha but I love hearing y’all go back and forth

I listen on Spotify but wanted to support y’all on here too. I was honestly surprised at the ratings but in a good way. Makes me want to re watch Wakanda Forever, especially after Ant Man 3…about to listen to MCU bracket list next!

I remember watching it on opening day as a kid and the line was easily 100 people. At the end I definitely thought empire strikes back was better.
