is that Kaweco pen a fine line? do you know how thick?
@@froufou100 0.5mm!! It’s a jet stream refill. The original that comes with the kaweco is 1.0mm blue ink - too thick for me.
It looks like you struck the right balance despite moving to a smaller size paper. On vertical spreads, although I like the uniformity of how it looks, the actual writing experience of only being able to write one or two words before having to skip to the next line disrupts my creative flow. Having more horizontal space really helps.
@@manhoiyi you articulated it perfectly!! ✨🖤✨
can I ask for the link you purchased?
I purchased it on Mercari Japan, which is kind of like eBay, so the listed is no longer available. But if you go to Mercari Japan and search for the planner, you should find it!
I have to admit that your title alone got me to click!
I can’t wait ‘til you try pocket… 😉
The temptation is real!!
I like it but for me the rings r to small
The 8mm rings are ESPECIALLY small 😅
Translucent matte sticker paper?! 😍 So many great ideas here. TFS!
I love your mini and it never ceases to amaze me. I have a Mini on the way and will set it up. I'm a personal girl, but a mini would be perfect for my handbag. Thanks for your videos
Ooooo I'll keep an eye out on Instagram for your mini adventure! <3
your jellyfish charm is sooo cute. i’m glad you were able to work out the vertical for yourself in mini 5! mini 5 is so stinkin cute but i found i needed more room for my health planner so i’m in pocket
Thank you Bucky! Glad you found your sweet spot in pocket <3
I am decidedly *not* a mini5 person, myself. But what I find great about the way you share your planners, Simone, is that no matter what you’re using it’s full of creative ideas that I find inspirational and practical. I also ❤ hourly planning, and adding in some horizontal micro journaling sounds like a fun thing to try!
That is so kind! Thank you! I'm glad I can inspire no matter what planner you're using. <3
I totally agree - if it's digital, it's basically invisible!
I have to combine digital and analog. Everything goes into either my Google calendar (personal) or Outlook (work). Then I write everything down in my Jibun Techo Biz.
I have a dual ring system from Zack’s Leather on Etsy (A6/personal size). I love it. I use the left side for my calendar/weeklies and some projects. On the right side I keep my to do lists and notes. He customized it with 20mm rings on each side. Highly recommend it!
I'm new to ring planning this year and love to see how everyone utilizes their rings. I have been stumped about how to archive my inserts, and using loose binder rings is such an amazing idea! I have so many floating around - I won't need to buy any! Thank you for the ideas and lovely videos!
I hope to alleviate the archiving struggle by creating dedicated archival binders for ring planner folks - it's gonna be a long project but I've already gotten started and am very excited!
the pilot birdy would be a great choice as a pen body for this planner. love those kaweco pens... the green body is my fav color
Could you share where/how you got this planner?
I got it on Mercari Japan using the Buyee proxy shopping service :)
Mind blown! 2 sets of rings? Sorcery!!! Can’t wait to see how it works! ❤❤❤
The best of planner magic!! ✨
I love these types of double rings set up I have a mini set up with these from a seller off etsy minus the card inserts. The first time I saw this done was years ago on a regular size 3 ring binder
Who was the seller? If you don’t mind saying! I want this set up so badly haha
@asmileisspecial give me a day or two to look for it and I will let you know
what a find! it looks lovely. i have never been in this small size but i always like seeing how you work it
I love planner treasure hunting :)
Wow very cool! I definitely think it can be very functional if you often flip back and forth writing things, as you noted the reference can be in the left and writing in the center!
Love this idea. I done need my trackers with me at thr office 3x a week but having an option for one book that truly allows me to have both life and work and keep them separate is a great idea. I wish this was in pocket size!
I believe they do indeed make it in a pocket size! You'd have to find one from Japan though...
I have one similar to that one!
@@josephwellhausen5623 Awesome! Where did you find it?
such an interesting design! thanks for sharing your setup in it! very cool :)
Thank you Bucky!
wow! how cool!!
BABE WAKE UP! SIMONE POSTED A NEW RINGS VIDEO!!!!
@@SHAEW0LF you make me blush!
I'm not sure of it's functionality or purpose but I think your set up with the reference side and the daily side makes so much sense. This is kind of based on a 1921 design of the pre-cursor to Filofax and was carried by Grace Scurr, who started at Norman and Hill (now Filofax) as a temporary secretary. When the company’s offices were blitzed during the war, it was Grace’s diary, in which she had recorded customers and suppliers, that literally saved the firm. And it was Grace (who went on to become Chairwoman, retiring in 1955) who coined the name Filofax - “a file of facts”. The duplex rings were popular in the mid-30s with the military and with doctors. The designs back then were personal rings. This is the first pocket style I've seen.
You are a glorious planner historian!!!
@@jessicasblack wow!! What amazing facts! I wonder if there are any US companies with something like this in the works?
@@plannercoven Thank you but I cannot take any kind of credit for that other than remembering it. I learned it from the knowledgeable folks in the Philofaxy group on Facebook a few years ago.
@@chaoswithsusan I haven't seen anything that wasn't Japanese made in a while. Filofax did release a 75th anniversary of this planner model and they only made 1921 of them. It came in a fancy wooden case and was probably ridiculously expensive.
@ I’m quite active in that group! It’s the only reason I use Facebook these days, hehe
What an amazing concept!! This could change the whole planner world!
My thoughts exactly!!
Aw.. You and my mom share the same birthday!!❤
Yay Gemini babies!!
can you do a comparison of the Filofax sizes/options? I want to start in one, but not sure which I’d like.
I can do that! In the meantime, here's a good overview from Filofax: us.filofax.com/pages/organizer-sizes
your flipthrough was soooo satisfying! best of luck with the startup!
Thank you so much Bucky!! <3
Such a nice video
Thank you darling!
I've been searching for an archive binder solution forever, I can't wait to see what you make!!!
I'm so excited to create it! If you're able to do the survey it'd be a HUGE help! <3
Not having found a good method of archiving my pages is what keeps pulling me out of rings! I absolutely love your voice. It’s so calming. I watched this on a day where my anxiety was acting up, and it helped me so much.
@@mp5690 thank you so much! That means so much to me 💕
I can definitely see how the 2 rings are not so great for the smaller stuff like the polaroids. I would love to see a video on how you make those dividers on vellum with lamination! I would make so many 😂 And thank you for sharing!
submited! very excited for this. archiving its definitely the thing that keeps me away from truly enjoying rings
Thank you so much! Hoping to make your archiving experience better in the near future!
it would be nice to get these archive binders delivered to europe, without having to pay with a kidney to other resellers. the franklin covey costs almost 100 Euros on amazon, which is litteral theft.
I'm optioning shipping partners that have warehouses in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia - I want them to be accessible to as many folks as possible!
Thank you! Yes, we need something better! Someone needs to do it lol
I saw the planner signal in the sky and am answering the call :D
hey the algorithm just showed me your channel! I am one of the people who wants the archive binder! I just started with ring planner and I keep wondering why the archive step isn't discussed more! That's what stopped me from getting a. plotter which only holds 40 pages.
Thank you to the algorithm for bringing like minds together! lol I'll be sharing loads of information throughout the development process so stay tuned!
Loved this flipthrough! I was wondering, how do you make your theme dividers? Perhaps you could make a video on that? :3 👀
@@disintegratingeros thank you! I print them on vellum, then laminate them. It creates a lovely stained glass effect !
@@plannercovenDo you use special printer to do that or would ink printer work on vellum?
@ I just use my regular printer. Search for inkjet vellum on amazon and you’ll find it!
@@plannercovenThank you! :)
YES PLEASE!!!’ I’m doing the survey now! ❤ THANK YOU! Someone needs to do it. If you do it, I’ll be loyal FOREVER.
YES! BECOME MY LOYAL PLANNER MINION MUAHAHAHA! (but no, really, thank you so much!)
Submitted my survey - I do love a bit of quantitative research. Thank you for doing this. BB 🌛🌝🌜
Thank you darling - the planner data we're accumulating is immaculate!
I got no further than 28 seconds in - the point at which you mention creating planner archives - and immediately hit Like and subscribe. I’ll watch the rest and will do the survey next. So excited! I just ordered some cheapo binders this morning to use for archiving, but they are less than ideal. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. ❤
Thank you so much! I think we're creating something very special and you're now a part of it <3
Hey Simone, I have a question, and apologies if you’ve explained this in a previous vid, but I wondered if you bought your themed dividers or if you created them yourself, and if you did, could you share how you do this? Thank you and BB 🌛🌝🌜
No worries! I make them myself. First I print them on vellum, then laminate them. It creates a translucent effect like stained glass which I really love! ✨🖤✨
The cat ears poking out are such a cute idea 😻
@@ruonpaper feline planner innovation is my forte 😉
links please!!!
let me know what you'd like a link for an I'll be happy to provide :)
New here but I love your style and chill vibes so much! I'd love to learn how you make your dividers and inserts because they're fantastic! Maybe also a detail video on all your gear and supplies? And how do you come up with your weekly review prompts? I'm interested to try that out and the mood tracker for sure. Thanks for making videos!!!
Thank you so much for being here! Doing a video on dividers and inserts is a great idea! I did one recently about my pencase which showcases a lot of my gear, so definitely check that out. My prompts I got from someone on Instagram and now I can't remember who that was... but I also came up with a few of my own as well! The mood tracker is from the Undated Yearly Bundle from Peanuts Planner Co - definitely check that out too!
Hello! I love this video sooooo much! I'm a personal-size kind of person, and I use Plotter's weekly insert, mainly because I write a lot and I often have to refer to things noted weeks or months ago (I have an office job, and sometimes some people are not as orderly with their notes, and so you have to check your own), but looking at your mini planner, it makes me want to have one just like that. :)
Thank you so much! Perhaps you could have a mini-sized sidekick to your personal? ;)
I have a question. When you use the Tome river paper do you slit the holes or is it to thin 🤔
@@Teachmond I don’t slit the holes on any paper, just my plastic dividers. I find even thicker paper just falls out, but yes I imagine TRP would be even worse!
@@plannercoven thanks . That’s what I thought.
❤ i love your videos - so inspiring! I always change something up after watching them. Last time i deep-dived mini pens and now have gel D1s in my Filofax barleys. Now i am debating between stickers or stamps for my daily pages dates. Arghhh! I have 2 Minis, 1 Personal and a silly amount of Pockets. (All vintage and bought cheap whenever they cross my path). I am a little brutal with the archiving - i transfer all the important information onto Personal size notepaper with the year at the top and they are all filed under Y for 'yearlies' in my Holborn. That way i can flip back quickly for holiday, appointment and any other important dates. Love your style - keep treating us to your flip throughs.
@@beckywhite9838 wow thank you so much!
Hey Simone, Absolutely no complaints from me, just keep on doing what you're doing delivering your flip-throughs and thoughts long form. For me as a planner-ista, I love seeing how everyone else uses their planners and the level of creativity that it is out there - it's really inspiring for me as it's a configuration of my Self that has been sadly dormant for a long time. Plus as a solitary witch in her crone phase, I love connecting with other witches. BB and I hope you have a magical Samhain 🌛🌝🌜
Thank you so much! Your support - both on the planner and magical side - mean the world to me. <3
Good morning, having my morning coffee watching your video. It makes me smile. I love the fact you used your cat pickles as spot holder. I love the scary inserts. I like the fact you don’t push buying things. You mentioned making a binder for your minis that would be interesting to see or you never know you could develop something that you could sell. Anyway thanks for sharing and have a great day.
Thank you so much! I will keep the channel updated on my archive binder project - and you're right, perhaps it's something others would benefit from as well!
really enjoyable :-) i don't mind a bit of repetition, as you call it. my videos often are kind of similar in this respect but i see it more as catching up with someone, how are they getting on with how they've set up their planner/pages etc
Thank you for being here Alex! Your vids are so inspiring <3
