Smoking Candied RIBS on the Nomad!
Rib Candy is a product that my buddy Barry introduced me too. When the price got to be more than we wanted to pay, he decided to figure out a way to make it himself, hence the name poor man's Rib Candy. These always turn out great! Who doesn't like Candied Ribs and just another reason to use the Nomad Grill again.
Here is what you will need:
Rack of ribs any style
Your favorite seasoning
Parkay or you can substitute that with real butter (I usually just use what I have on hand)
Some Jelly. Use what ever flavor you prefer. We like them hot sometimes so we will use pepper flavored jellies sometimes.
How to cook:
Smoke your Ribs 3/4 done. After they are 3/4 cooked remove from the grill.
Place ribs on foil sheet. Add Parkay or butter. Add jelly making sure to coat ribs entirely. Completely wrap ribs in foil making sure to not poke hole in foil. Replace ribs back on grill to finish the last 1/4 of cook making sure to reach an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees F.

NOMAD Grill! Smoking a Bacon-wrapped stuffed Pork Tenderloin on the NOMAD Grill/Smoker.
มุมมอง 14K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Today we fired up the NOMAD Grill to smoke a Buc-ee's bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin stuffed with shrimp, andouille sausage, and pepper-jack cheese. This thing tasted phenomenal, and the Nomad performed beyond expectations. #NOMADgrills If you would like to contact us, here is our contact information: strongsadventures@gmail.com Or you can send us stuff at: P.O. One-part briefcase, one-part heat sink, this portable smoker/grill combo is sturdy and durable - and a sight to behold. The company’s founders, John Veatch and Cam Leggett, set out to design a different kind of grill. They felt that most "portable" grills did not hold up to heavy use or were not TRULY portable. They founded the Dallas start-up company NOMAD, and spent 3 years perfecting their d...

After researching a handful of ziplines in the Branson area, the Shepherd of the Hills Canopy Tour just kept popping up as one of the BEST... and we have to say that we agree! Come along with us as Jackson and Skylar take us on a tour through the trees. The experience was Grade A, Top Notch, & a Must Do. We had absolutely no issues or concerns and would definitely do it again. #zipline #canopyz...

Wire brushes are dangerous. Use a ball of aluminum foil to clean the grates.
Yes you are correct. Foil is your friend.
Badass set up
I think that is an awesome set up. I’m gonna try it. Thanks for all the information. It was great.
Well thank you so much for watching and we hope you try it out.
Exactly what i needed to see. TY sir!
Glad you liked it. I think it is the best Dutch Oven Table out there.
Where can I purchase this at
You can't at this point. This is why I give instructions how to make it but Thanks so much
Thanks for this! Love how it came out
Oh it was awesome and we really recommend trying one. Thanks for leaving a comment.
Nice setup, I’m jealous!
Thanks! I am really Lovin this setup and I have found that its the best for the way and stuff I like to cook. Thanks for commenting.
That was a fine display of ur fire box n excessories n very nicely done n l haven't decided if this box is the right size or should l make a smaller one fir our yard we live in Illinios right by Ohare airport n l keep transforming our yard with garden boxes n yard n patio furniture n it's been a tough battle.. n out if all the grills n boxes from everywhere especially Agentinian style l like urs the best it's simple n extremely effective ..l l pay attention to ur speech silvery n it tells me about ur character n l believe you are good holsim family man full of respect n talent keep in doing ur thing nicely done
Well thank you so much. Yes in hind site I would have built the fire box a little narrower but I would still keep the length. The way I built the box has let it warp over the years. I plan on rebuilding it so maybe keep an eye out for that. I do love the length and would never change that . Everything else has been working great though and I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you so much again
did you do anything before the first cook? Wash it or reseason it?
Hey Chad you have a very good question. Yes we washed it just like we would any new CI. Just mild soap and hot water. Dried it with a lint free towel then rubbed it with a light coating of oil. I put a full spread of coals in it and let the coals burn down till they went out. When I went to use it for the first time I just lightly rubbed it with oil all over and put coals in it again. Once the grill reached temp I mopped a small amount of oil on the grates and put my chops on. After the cook was done I scraped the grill and then lightly did a little more oil while the coals finished and cooled down. I haven't used it in a few months but it looks as good as it did the last time I used it.
Liked and sub’d Thanks for sharing
Well thank you so much. I hope you enjoy our videos
I'm looking for one of them.
We really like this one. Its just a small grill and with the kids gone now it is really easy to just fire it up and cook for the two of us. I still see that there are several on line to buy it that helps you. Thanks so much for watching the video and making a comment.
I think he’s living in a self storage container.
Looks great!!! Thanks for the recipe. Your subscriber from West Monroe, LA.
Well thanks Neighbor. I think we are going to make a batch this weekend. It is really good .
@@strongsadventuresMy husband & I had to watch that video of yours again today .
@@Maleezza Thank you again. It really is a very tasty recipe.
Happy memories ❤
❤❤❤
Thank you Miss Wanda
Thank you!!!!
You are very welcome. So glad we could help. We hope you try some of the recipes in our videos too and let us know what you think.
Can u use lump charcoal in the kickoff grill ? Newbie here 😂
Yes you sure can. You can actually use wood in it as well. We have used it as a smoker by putting a Dutch Oven upside down on it too. Now it is kinda small so you can only cook/smoke for one or two people but we really like it. Thanks for watching.
@@strongsadventures big fan here thank u for replying to me !
@@Derekwallaceson Well thank you so much and not a problem. We really appreciate you watching our content. If you have any questions on any of the videos we have done feel free to ask. Thanks again. Billy and Rhonda.
@@strongsadventures thank u so much! 😊
@@Derekwallaceson Never forget we all started out with only a few subs so keep doing what you do.
You need a lid/cover with a small opening at the top and then you also have a smoker feature
Yes sir you are correct. We actually have done this already. We started out using aluminum foil . Then we got an old Webber charcoal lid and it works awesome. We have a video of it in use making some Ribs I think.
@@strongsadventures nice!
Nice work, and thanks for sharing
Thank you so much. We really appreciate you.
For the love of god, stop giving garlic and seasoning salt to your dog 😆.
It was just a bit. Oh and trust me she really needs it in her Vampire hunting. She is really good at that LOL
Love this.
Thanks so much. It really works well for us.
Hey there Billy. I imagine you already know about Karla. I've just been reminiscing in my mind about old youtube so thought I'd pop in and say hi. I hope you are well! -PJ
Hey ya PJ yeah been missing the good old days too. Yeah I heard about Karla. I miss her and all the others that we have lost every day. We are hoping to have some videos out soon and you never know we might even do a livestream at some point LOL.
thumbs up 👍🙏💥
Thank you! Cheers!
That is awesome!
Thank you so much.
Where can I get one of these ?
Sorry Sean its pretty much a one off. We do have another video that shows all of the measurements to build one yourself or have someone build one for you. Thanks so much for stopping by .
Hey Billy it's been a minute hope all is well with you and your family. Just checking in
Sorry it has taken me a month to respond Stephenn but it just has been crazy busy here. I am hoping to do an update video soon. Thank you so much for checking in with us that is so appreciated
Temp and duration if put in the oven?
About 400 degrees F for about 20 minutes then stir and then another 20 min ish. In that second 20 min be watching them to see when they reach your desired tenderness. Some folks like them a little more crunchy and some like them a little more tender. Thanks for the comment.
Udderly entertaining!! ….Dan
LOL well we try to have fun sometimes Papaw Dan
Wow!
LOL and I did get a few more pieces that time and we went back in the fall.

Thanks for coming. She is really an awesome Lady and Danni is just the cutest little thing. Sorry it took so long to get back to you but stuff has really been hectic around our house.
Where did you buy the hooks and uprights setup?
Hey thanks so much for the comment. We got the hooks and up rights from somewhere in Colorado but that was 14 years ago . We can't figure out where it was and doesn't seem to have a web site anymore. th-cam.com/video/3r3xpb05EvE/w-d-xo.html This should be the video that we show all the dimensions of everything. It should give you the sizes to make it yourself or have someone make it for you. I hope this is a help and again Thank you so much for the comment.
Apparently Im not real internet savvy because Im unable to find anyone that builds and sells something like yours. Did you build this yourself? And do you know of anyone that does build and sell setups like yours?? And good video also, thanks!
