Vintage hi fi restoration, we also restore a few Vintage TVs. EFWheeler Electronics was founded by my father in 1961 in Jacksonville NC. After he left the Marine Corp he opened his 1st TV sales and service store. He was a dealer for Zenith, pioneer and akai our biggest customer base were the marines at camp Lejeune. He died August 27th 1983 of cancer when I was 15. I moved to Arkansas in 1990 and opened the business here, I closed my store to the public in 2004 due to lack of repairs and the new Walmart supercenter opened in our town of 1300 people. I mainly repair and restore equipment now that I intend to keep and use. Follow EF Wheeler Electronics on Facebook for photos and updates. I do not make videos for profit and rarely video myself doing repairs because there are plenty of those already!

Pioneer PL-630 turntable from 1979. fully restored now. nothing major with this one, the original owner gave me this he bought it new in 79 at the army base px in California. very well taken care of since new! part of my personal collection now, not for sale. even had a newer Audio technica gold cartridge VM60SLC installed on it which cost about $650.00!
COOL looks modern for 1986
Hi. I have reel to reel TEAC x-300
I haven't had my hands on a '70s XL100 in years. The closest thing I currently have is a 19" XL100 with the single-knob tuner from 1982, and a 25" ColorTrak console from 1980, and it uses a delta-gun tube and a CTC92 modular chassis. Oh, and I have a 21" CTC46 "tin can" AccuColor from '72.
Your set at least looks like it has a crt with good emissions. Most of the crts made after 75 by rca were less than stellar
True, I remember those crt's being bad after just a few years. If this were a high hour set it would have been shot decades ago im sure!!
I still have my grandpas sony from 1994 i turn it on every month I beleive 1994 was also sonys last year for completely using all Japan parts to. @@HankWheeler
Sounds great to me! I like your system and that akai is definitely a great find...love the sound of those kenwoods as well-- great video...
Thanks! And thanks for checking out the video!!
That looks like either an E32 chassis or a 19C3 chassis, and these were good sets. However, nobody cares about longevity anymore and if it's not the "latest and greatest", then they don't want it. Last week, I put 4 working '90s-2000s CRT TVs out on the street because nobody wanted to buy them, nobody wanted them for free, I have no room to stash them, and I was tired of looking at them. Had they been older sets like this one, I would have tried to find a place to put them.
Thanks for checking the video out. I believe you are right about the chasis #s I will check when I take the back off. The sticker on the back is mostly gone. I've been watching some old vhs home movies i found and the screen fills out after it warms up. So I believe it's worth replacing the caps in the vertical output, it does have a great picture though. But you are right about people today, I couldn't give this set away if my life depended on it lol. If you ever need a part let me know, I have a lot of nos parts hanging on the wall and if I have it I would be happy to mail it to you!
