Some of the lines are so fitting. "It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do" perfectly ties in to the fact the player character is chasing down the Jackal and countless of men will fail to stop in his pursuit. "I know that I must do what's right" could mean the PC's motivation. It's mercenary, sure, but he may believe it to be moral in nature. "I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become" This can be mean two things. The malaria plaguing the player character, slowly killing him. The second being his "heart of darkness", how he becomes less of a man and more of a symbol of death, coinciding with the Jackal's lesson and warring of such a thing.

Now this is MY kind of music video. Masterfully done.

It still remains my favourite Far Cry. It is brutal and you don't feel like some super hero, just one of many bad guys in a bad situation :D Like Heart of Darkness mixed with Blood Diamond, The Wild Geese, Dogs of War, Lord of War etc

There will never be a far cry game that would make the player so alone than far cry 2. Ballsy game this, it really highlighted the vulnerability of the player, the bleak prospects of a Nation torn apart by war and greed, playing on the insecurities of the players, and the fact that no matter what you do, there is no happy ending in a world like this..

I love how the to e of the song doesn't match the gameplay just such a peaceful song with tons of violence in the background 🤣

And to think that if Capcom were feeling ballsy enough, they could’ve included an intimate hoss right in RE7 with this very song as the backdrop
