is it possible to convert those outdoor poe cameras to usb? i dont see any good outdoor 4k usb cameras.

im having a problem. it seems both data cables always result in an error message. i have 2 cameras right now and i swapped both data cables and its all error messages. i tried using a different laptop and still the same result. pls help :<

Super late to the party but if like me you only just using this information now, I found when I did this I got the data cables wrong way round. After getting the "usb malfunction warning" as shown in this video, I reassembled correctly but found I still got the same error. Chased myself round in circles for an hour only to find I just needed to restart my pc after swapping the cables to the correct position. Simple I know but thought I'd share just incase anyone else has this issue.

Thank you. I am looking to make several small cameras for mounting onto HP model rockets. Something with reasonable image quality but won't break the bank because obviously rockets crash often or even break apart in mid air.

I have so many dead laptop webcams, I now re use them to make security cams that are tiny. It is selling so quick a dashcam needed? Sure worth price not even 60 cents 😂

Why webcam microphones have a cushion of rubber surrounding them? And does it move, become frail, over time? Covering the mic? Does that amplify noise?

If the line is 6 strands, are the other 2 data cables for the microphone?

Or read the PCB and you might see the function of each wire, I use a lan cat 6 as cable 'cuz I also save the cameras microphone ;-)

Great build! I also suggest in the future if you need to hammer wood, use a rubber mallet or use a piece of scrap wood between your metal hammer and the wood you want to hit.

I've tried 4 webcams - 4 wire, 6 wire, and 2x10 wire webcams, and none of them work. I manage to identify ground, data, and run power, but I always get device unidentified when plugged into the computer via USB no matter the order of data wires. Anyone in the same boat?

Hello max, great video, but i have a problem the web cam from a laptop that i'm using it only have 4 cable, 2 of then are torch together that i supose those are data + and - and then the other two must be u+ and u-. But when i used the voltmeter those two for tensión they sound and beep in the negative.. Could you give some advice?

That amplifier board confuses me a lot. It has 4 output channels but 2 different audio inputs. It treats the L/R of Input 1 and input 2 as the 4 independant channels? Or does it split the L/R of input 1 onto the 4 output channels?

sir the voltage regulator can not just be ''anywhere'' as you say, the voltage regulator is going to near by where ever the pcb is getting the power in from so in that case next to the 4/5/6 pin connector,, it can be on the ''back'' but never on the opposite end from the power in on the pcb

is it possible to connect to mic too? it would be neat if its possible

Great video. I would be against hot gluing circuit boards to the wood cabinet. They would be better mounted securely in a project box. Circuit boards coming loose could cause a short circuit.

Late entry, I know, but has anybody tried to utilize cell phone cameras in this or some other fashion? It would seem that they would be even easier to find (probably have several in my utility drawer) and potentially more technologically advanced. Beyond that, there are at least half a dozen snapshot cameras in my junk drawers...good optics, relatively high resolution.

Great video, very cool, I got one going to play around with (-: The camera that I had, from a hp probook 450 G3, had 9 wires going into a 10 pin plug, where the wires were all labeled on the back of the camera pcb. Turns out in order for it to work I needed to wire both the 3V and 5V pins.

is there any way to use disassembled smartphone cameras like this?
