Singapore's Luxury Hotel (Marina Bay Sands)
มุมมอง 1.4K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
Marina Bay Sands Singapore's hotel was the most expensive freestanding casino in the world when it was built in 2010. My favorite part? the infinity pool that looks out over the city! It looks like a cruise ship floating on a couple of towers. And I had the chance to stay here! Not only that, but I explored Michelin-starred street food, the Gardens by the Bay Super Grove, and the Cloud Forest. ...

What to do in VIETNAM | 2024 Travel Guide
Always have the proper license, if you right a bike that's a motorcycle license from your home country, AND international drivers permit. The 500 baht fine is not the issue. If you have an accident most insurance will not honor you claim if you are driving without a license. The rental place won't tell you this. Could be very expensive because you are 100% liable. Oh, and don't forget sun screen!
That's not a dead fish. It's the Suckermouthed catfish. Usually they stick to the wall surface.
No way! I totally thought it was dead. Thanks for letting me know!
@@spence.t the airport staff would have removed the dead fish. Those fishes help to keep the aquarium clean.
I just sent my transition glasses back to Ray Ban for a refund. I like the glasses, but I look too dorky inside with thick black frames and clear lenses. I ordered a new pair that are just META sunglasses. I don't mind wearing sunglasses inside (when I run into a store, etc). I'd rather look 'shady' inside than nerdy. :)
I’m seriously considering doing the same cuz I look ridiculous with the clear frames. Buuuut I also threw away the packaging already, so idk how that would work 🤷♂️
@@spence.t If you have had them for under 45 days, then get on their site and do a chat (or, call) and start the refund. If you tossed your original box (I didn't), they will send you a new one free (since it needs that sticker on it for the battery).
I put prescription transition lenses in mine.... so it's justified. serves so many uses this way. I have a minor distance vision (-1). wearing it with a hat or a toque looks fine. Swap it with standard sunglasses when I need to charge
@@spence.t My refund completed, today...money is back in my account. My new glasses arrive, tomorrow (I ordered the same day I started the refund). Ended up saving a little money by skipping the transition lenses and just going with green polarized ones, instead.
Sg hotels are all overpriced and unnecessary.
The value just isn’t there when you compare to other areas of SE Asia
Going this summer, I see forward for bading in geothermal rivers, watching waterfalls, seeying nice villages , hearing the language and trying local cuisine !🇮🇸
Have a great time! It’s such a beautiful country 😊
@@spence.t Thank you!
I’ve recently purchased and noticed it overheats a tad. Have you had this issue at all?
Yes! Both this and the insta360 x3 overheat quite a bit.
Nice blog... and fun to watch. Must have been a huge comedown to go from heaven to coach! Lucky you to be upfront over the Pacific... do enjoy SE Asia and we'll be following your adventures! You may want to consider taking some other SkyTeam partners such as Vietnam Airlines in the future.
Thanks so much! It was definitely a dose of reality going to the back of the plane after such a great experience in my own suite
MBS is famous for its view and size… but by no means the most luxurious in Singapore. There’s Capella (where Trump and Kim met), Shangrila (where international defence dialogues are held), Fullerton, Ritz Carlton etc. all matching or exceeding MBS in luxury…. And I might have missed some. By the way, the Gardens and Dome etc. are not part of MBS, but is govt/public park, costs over a billion dollars to develop.
I didn’t realize that! I totally thought it was part of their property. Good to know!
I spent literally over a year of my life across several years staying in various hotels all over Singapore. I would actually argue that the MBS is slightly below average for its category. My former boss described it as "smoke and mirrors" and didn't want to stay a second time. Check out the St. Regis, Andaz, Fullerton, etc. Even Raffles and the Pan Pac (which aren't the best IMO) are better. Also if we're talking best in the world, I could name at least 50 luxury properties that would very easily beat this one.
I’m curious - you mentioned below average for its category… would you put it in the luxury category? Also, what about the hotel is smoke and mirror? Is it the service, amenities, value for money…? I think I’d agree with your boss that I wouldn’t stay again
@@spence.t I am not sure what exactly he meant but he did comment about the walls/hard product being poor quality. I'd probably put it in the luxury category but towards the lower end in that market.

That hotel room is totally standard South East Asian 5 star hotel. Absolutely nothing special.
I think that’s part of what makes it so crazy though… that would be a crazy expensive hotel room in the US
@@spence.t Everything is better value in Asia.
@@idanceforpennies281 A thousand percent agree
@@spence.tbro MBS is crazy expensive, the room you stayed in is I’m guessing the premier/Deluxe king room 39-45m and goes for between $1500-$1700 AUD per night, the equivalent sized room at a 5 star Vegas hotel would cost about $400-$700 per night
@@joshf-w9602 I paid 570 USD (860 AUD) for one night and this was the “basic” room. It’s definitely a pricey place but the overall experience was very cool. Would I do it again? Probably not. Was it fun to do once? Absolutely.
I'm kinda on the verge of buying it, but I'm still not sure. I'm trying to get something that's convenient to shoot, and when I found the Pocket 3, I thought it was perfect for me.But I don't know, the price is quite high.
It’s definitely an expensive piece of equipment and one I would primarily recommend for vlogging. If you’re on the fence, and your phone has good quality, I might recommend getting a nice tripod to start with - you can get those relatively cheap!
@@spence.t thank for the reply! That's what exactly I was thinking about I'm on the fence because I want to create very good quality vlogs and I have the finances to buy the pocket 3 but also my S23 films super well
@@andreixperience I just read that the Pocket 4 will be released next year (2025) so I would probably wait and buy that since phones are so good. What I have been learning is that story telling is so much more important than the video quality!
Of course it's worth the splurge. Kyoto is the Spiritual, Cultural and was the Political Capital of possibly the most refined Nation on Earth. I've been fortunate to visit The Emperor's Compound, The Shogun's Compound, Nara, The Golden Temple and experience Geisha entertainment. All of that was a special experience.
I couldn’t agree more! Kyoto is a really special place blending the modern and traditional. Plus the city is beautiful and the people are so kind!
It looks like a very, very special place.
Such a beautiful part of the world!
I appreciate the thorough, impartial information.
Thank you for checking it out! 😊
Or the first day of summer vacation for the kids. 😂😂😂
Truth 🤣
so relatable
I flew out to Arizona one summer. It was hot. My friend said it’s dry heat. I told him so was an oven. Very hot. Everyone just went from ac to ac. Didn’t see many people just walking around. Dominant was hot!!!!
That kind of heat without ac is unbearable!
East Texas
Never been but I hear it’s hot af!
If it don't reach 94 degrees with 80% humidity it's better than Florida
Florida heat is another level
Thanks for sharing
...thank you Joe Biden

I haven’t traveled anywhere in years your lucky to just miss out this year
This is funny😂😂😂😂
Agree with every recommendation except a small issue that Thailand is predominantly cash-based society. That was true until Covid when cashless transaction explodes due to govt implementing half-price scheme 5 times during 2-year of Covid restriction, using digital wallet scheme to scan QR code and pay from the wallet. You pay only half price while govt pays the other half. Yes, cash is still King but more than 90% of Thais now use QRcode payment on a daily basis.
So true! I didn’t end up trying out the QR code wallets though… they were pretty much everywhere though! Is it easy to set up?
I usually do a bit of both. Though for me the activities are usually monuments and such and not just hiking for hours.
My words fear is I’ll marry into a “Holiday 5k” family
I literally can’t imagine anything worse 🤣
Captain Holt is def a pool bar guy
NO NOT HOLT
Y not both
hate those people. they’re my parents.
😂
Did you use a private tour company for your journey
I did! While going north I traveled with Gadventures and in the south (islands) I went with Contiki. Highly recommend Gadventures - I’ll even be traveling with them again this summer in Africa!
Thanks for sharing your Delta One Seattle to Seoul experience. Great trip report.
ERROR This was not a First Class but an international business class product. Delta Airline does not offer an international transpacific first class service. Not sure if any US carrier provides a first class option to Seoul, but it is available on Korean Air.

It was so good! And spicy… I was sweating haha

First🥇
I keep seeing videos of this kind of story. It seems like maybe the police are cracking down more than they used to. It makes me want to avoid getting a scooter next time I am in CM. I am not going to get a motorcycle license just to drive one legally for a week over there. You know? If other tourists decide like I am it's going to eventually affect the motorbike rental places.
From my experience, paying the fine is pretty easy and it allows you to drive around for 3 days
you need an international drive license 🪪 in Thailand
@@balidancer i learned that the hard way 😂
Fantastic vid, I also am from the Seattle area and did the Mae Hong Son Loop about one month ago on a Honda Forza 350. keep the vids coming. Thanks
Thank you! It was such a unique experience and I loved it. 3 more videos coming out over the next month!
We
Loved the video. My wife is Korean and we planning a trip there next year. Being a loyal Delta flyer, I want try Delta One at least once.
Thank you! It’s definitely a special experience. What part of Korea are you thinking of visiting? I spent a week in Seoul on my way home and it was so great!
@@spence.t we’re going to be all over the country. We plan on staying in Seoul for a week, then other areas to see the family. My wife goes back almost every year. This will be my first time back since 2003.
@@buhner1991 Awesome! That'll be a great trip. I bet it will look a lot different than 2003!
The first video on the Mae Hong Son loop goes up on Saturday!
Thanks for the info + video!
It was my pleasure! I would do this research again any time 😉
I did it domestically LAX has a seperate TSA for delta one and that in of itself was worth it.
That would be totally worth it! I don’t think there was a separate TSA in Seattle, but maybe I missed it.
I used to love this in Thailand ❤❤
They’re SO GOOD
How much was it for the seat?
Round trip total was under $3K. I upgraded after buying my original seat and it was significantly less than the original $6.5K price tag!
@@spence.t gotcha well thanks so much for the content!
Happy to do the research 😉 Thanks for checking out the video!
How was your round trip total under $3k if the one way is like 5K?
