Confessor usually works best for Int/Fth if you also need at least 12 Str and 12 Dex. I've tested Staff of Great Beyond at 60 60 and it (almost) matched Prince of Death Staff, and did 10% less damage than Golden Order Seal. So depends if you want pure damage, or flexibility from one tool that casts both sorceries and incantations.

@@ironeaglegames I'm starting as wretch just because I'm not planning on using melee in endgame and I prefer being a tad squishy at 50 vigor just one of those people that like having mind it's gonna be for pve and PVP so trying to balance it out

Cool. You could still have a lordsword straight sword with carian sovereignty, that ash will do big damage at 40 Int.

I've come to the realization that this build is the quality build of spells so many different people will have many different stat spreads and spell lists

Haven't upgraded any yet but as soon as I saw the animations I immediately knew what it's strong suit would be 😂

It's a really nice weapon, one of the highlights of the DLC for sure

@@ironeaglegames for me the ancient meteoric ore blade has stood out the most and this is coming from a Dex/Faith user. Its just soooo fast and has the poise damage comparable to the giant crusher

It looks really strong when I've seen it in PVP. I really like fast weapons so will check it out at some point.

Same with Rellana's Twin Moons. A lot of spells need much faster cast speed, especially for PVE if they're to be viable for boss fights.

@@ironeaglegames I really hate when we get a boss weapon or skill it’s nerfed , like I rather not have it . Rellanas twin blade is the biggest disappointment .

More good stuff would mean more build variety

Most PVPers will stop at RL150 though, that's not low level :)

Yeah I'm at 200 here and that's pretty high for invasions

Do you have an ash equipped on the shield? If you don't that might be the reason.

Yeah it's possible. You probably want to start as Confessor and go for 40 Int 40 Fth. Keep Str & Dex at 12 each as that's enough for Sword of Night & Flame. You could also put Carian Sovereignty or Sacred Blade on a straight sword.

I've only tested Staff of Great Beyond at 60/60. It matched Prince of Death staff but did 10% less damage than Golden Order Seal. I wouldn't go higher than 40/40 at RL150 because you'll need 60 vigor, as well as mind and endurance.

Yeah I think some people overlook the utility of having a tool that does both. I use this all the time. For me it's worth taking the hit on incantation damage to have a melee weapon equipped, it really opens up int/fth builds to a lot more variety.

I don't have a target breakpoint usually. How much I have depends on what type of build. With this weapon I just didn't need it, but my favourite set (raging wolf helm, fingerprint chest, scaled gauntlets & greaves) is 77 with the bullgoat talisman and that feels ok to me. I'm not really a minmax kind of player, I just use stuff that looks cool :)

It's the same with sleep. I tried to get a backstab after throwing a sleep pot and it doesn't work :(

if you grab the enemy after madness proc he will just get pushed to the ground. with like 20-30 dmg :/

It's always been popular for invasions so a lot of creators have RL200 builds now. You invade more of the map as you catch people on NG+ runs, and you encounter more build variety than the RL125-150 meta crowd.

It matches Prince of Death staff at 60/60 (well 99%) and you have the utility of casting incantations. Scaling numbers never tell the full story, better to test in-game casting spells and comparing damage.

Thanks! I like Gravitational Missile a lot, and Messmer's orb. I think there'll be a huge balance patch for the DLC content. Agree the spells need some love, while the Dex weapon unique ashes are far too powerful.
