Quick Fix for Wrong Colored Thread!

You probably have done this, but if not, it’s a game changer! 🙌 Works on fiber based threads and UNwaxed polyester thread. Acrylic paint 🙌 Ive done this for years with success, bu please always do a test before using it on your projects to make sure. Will also toughen up thread. It wont be fluffy as before, but I do not mind that trade off for the right color. Hope you enjoy! - Hi, I’m Christin...

I was excited to see a post of yours for connecting the two half of the Greek-byzantine binding with an x. But as soon as I pressed the link to watch was disappeared and I wasn't able to find it again. What has happened? Is it possible to upload again. Looked one of the best. Thank you very much for your detailed and" sincere" tutorials!
I redid the link in yesterday’s post and it worked, but it’s also in the “Other Books” playlist… Only thing is that it’s just me trying to sew it for the first time lol! So it’s not really a tutorial - but making a little practice book this weekend so I can rock a tutorial on Greek sewing. We have a 3 day weekend coming up and that’s the game plan 🙌 Glad you are finding them helpful! Really wanting to do some of the lesser seen bindings since most of those I’ve only seen explained in diagrams 🤔
Very nice. Thank you!
Most welcome! Planning to do a two color one in upcoming weeks 🙌
Thanks for the practical solution! Good job!
Glad it helped! 🙌
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I usually repurpose materials and this works like a charm! 🙌
Watching this come to life with scribbles and paint dabs was amazing to see. Not a bit overworked, just glorious! This is not just “a doodle”! Thanks for showing us your process.
Thank you for taking the time to hang out and watch along! Needs to be finished up lol!
Cool
Thanks! ☺️
Pretty cool, thanks for sharing❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh that will be a challenge 😂
Looks harder than it is I promise! It’s just loops over and over 🙌
That's great. Very unique, very creative. 💜💜💜
Thank you! It’s been fun to use
Wow
It got a little big 😂
Really cool
Thank you! It was strange working on a round book at the start, now really enjoy it 😄
1:39 It transforms into a PlayStation 1 game 😊
LOL! I’ve never played one 😂
@artwithchristine The data sides of the discs are black as opposed to silver.
@johntrevy1 Thank you! I wasn’t sure what you meant - I’m an Atari nerd 😂
This is so helpful! Thank you
Very welcome! Had to pass it on 😄
The cutest tiny sketch book. ❤📚
Muchas gracias! 🙌
@@artwithchristine De nada☺️
Yay, a practicarlo. 👏👏👏
Gracias por ayudarme!
So awesome!! I love it :)
So glad you enjoyed seeing it!
What is it
It’s just a random doodle. Kind of worked like a puzzle to see if I can connect one shape on one side to the other. That’s it. I like texture- A LOT lol! So was trying different ways of layering and adding paint.
Cool!
Thanks! 😄
❤
Thank you! ☺️
❤❤❤❤sooo pretty
Thanks! 😊
Wow! The textural aspect lends so much to the design.
Thank you! Was playing around with ideas of surfaces to use and we had all this posterboard scrap left over. The back of it or if you peel the top layer off is pretty fantastic
Very awesome! Love the algorithm sending me some real talent!
So glad you enjoyed seeing it! Is one of my warm ups for teaching art classes oil paint… but honestly my fave way to paint 🙌
Great idea. TFS
Most welcome! Hey and I promise K haven’t forgotten lol! I’ve not sat down to my email yet but soon!
Your little birds and frogs are ADORABLE!
@artwithchristine please no worries at all. No rush...take your time. I know life is busy. Takw your time. Take care. Thank you
@@artwithchristine thank you🥰
You are wonderful! Thank you!
Just a doodle? No ma'am that's a masterpiece 😍
Beautiful👏👏👏
Thank you very much!
Artists always say "just a doodle"....and then pull out a stunning work of art. 😅 Love this. 🥺💙
Thank you! But usually they really are! Lol! This one is a brain dump of lines and shapes that were shaded. Like a zentangle with charcoal and paint - art therapy 😄🙌
Really nice dimensions. Love the colors
Thank you so much! Have fallen in love with using blue greens. Complementary colors of red orange in the shadows instead of black
That is super f****** cool the depth of it I thought it was actually a 3D Object it's really amazing❤🎉
Thank you! Very much enjoying layering oil paint over charcoal 🙌
The before had more depth . Depths is a good thing
Agreed! Was a good practice
This is super gorgeous! It’s cool to hear about your process too
Thank you so much! Finally figured out my fave way to oil paint - on upcycled thick paper and cardboard lol! The related video shows how to prep it with mod podge before you paint. Not sure how archival it is - probably not since it’s on upcycled scrap posterboard, but it accomplished the goal. Worth a shot if you’d like to try it!
Love your little book and doodling style.
Thank you! It’s my escape 🙌
Before is dope also
Thank you! 🙏
I’m so amazed at all the lines, doodles, textures and images in this art journal. I’d like to reach through the screen of my iPad and snatch it away!
I’m very honored! The connections and layers are my happy place - it’s therapy for anxiety and feels like working a puzzle- so easy to get lost in it. Planning on continuing to post so what if I just teach you how to work those ideas into your creations. Feel free to adopt any and all ideas! 😄🙌🙌
Uhg I just love seeing your sketchbooks😊 btw I tried your coffee weathering page look and it worked really well:)
Thank you so much for letting me know you tried it!!! I’m about to dye some earring and button cards that way. Just an idea for the next time you give it a go if you toss in some nails or metal that will rust it will turn it a lovely cool brown color. So glad you’re enjoying the books!
This is super cool! I'd love to do this project with my students sometime. We always do relief printmaking and do not have a press for intaglio processes. Question-- Does it matter if it is a cd-rom or a regular cd?
They would LOVE it!!! Or most would lol! It doesn’t matter whether CD, CD-ROM, DVD, or any of those. It’s just that smooth plastic material that works so good. Akua intaglio ink is the way to go and clean up is a snap. Tempera paint is a must so it can wash off. But!!! I’ve had some paint acrylic before and it becomes like scratch art since that paint will want to stay put. Some have just carved them and washed them off and hung up as sun catchers. Easy to drill holes in them. Works AMAZING for a zentangle project. Done this project with both beginning students and an advanced 2D design class where I had them pick a type of balance (symmetrical, asymmetrical, or radial) and create their. Then used extra prints in the next project where they cut them up and repurposed them as collage elements. Would love to know how it goes! All levels thought it was magic. And it seemed to make more sense to them than the relief bc the lines print vs what you carve doesn’t print. I’ve had kids come back from previous years and ask if they could make more. Bet if you put an announcement out to your school you’ll have tons of donated CD-Roms come in 🙌🙌. Record store had also been willing to donate CDs they couldn’t sell.
I just bought a cheap pack of scratch art tools on Amazon. They preferred the ones with the rounded pointed tips vs the ones that are more shaped like a spear.
Thank you very much for an excellent tutorial! I used it for sewing my first ever sketchbook, A4 in size and filled with Arches paper. Funnily enough, because it is sewn by myself, it does not feel precious as a bought sketchbook would, even though the paper is some of the best on the market. This is to be my "no pressure" sketchbook, so it is important to me ❤
HOLY COW!!! You are AMAZING! This was definitely not the easiest binding to do for the first one ever and YOU DID IT!!! We’ve never met, but I am so proud and happy for you! Congratulations!!! It’s so powerful to know that you can create your own sketchbook and journal out of ANYTHING. Have fun!!! Be blessed!!! And Happy Arting 🙌🙌
@artwithchristine Thank you 😍 Your tutorial really is excellent ☺️
Thank you so much!
How early do you have to wake up to do art? Just curiosity 🤔as you mentioned in the video....please, you don't have to answer... 🫣🤗Amazing what can be done with just a pen... well, and other supplies, but proves that are not the tools; it's the talent. 👏 I bet Jay thinks when he hears the pen while you are doodling hard; ohhh, mom is also munching something...🤭😂 it must be a relaxing and smoothing sound for him, too. He is so cute🦜I love birds... I own two blue parroletes, they are very tiny compared to Africans gray, the female is tamed; her name is Skye, but I can't take her out so often due we also have two cats and they don't get along....🐱🐱😮😱soooo...no way! Thank you for sharing 🥰
I don’t mind at all. 3am right now- I don’t change with Daylight Savings so in a few months it will be 4am but then I’ll feel crunched for time. 😂 But!!! It’s not just getting up and - BAM! Arting. It’s more of getting up and sitting and then I read the Bible, pray, let things sit a bit (guess that could be meditating) and just listen. Drink coffee. Practice Spanish via Duolingo - 3 years and counting. And then! I art lol! It’s become more of a morning ritual. Like I got to get the mind and heart right to let go and focus. Towards the afternoon and end of the day have made so many decisions the mental fatigue sets in. Days I’m off school it’s easier to art later, but it’s been so helpful for sanity and just overall happiness to do the most important stuff in the morning. I get super cranky if I don’t have that time by accidentally oversleeping 😂. Parrotlets are adorable!!! They are so tiny and cute! But bet they have big personalities. Jay’s a Timneh, the smaller of the African Grey species, but he thinks he is a big dude lol! That’s him crunching in the background later on. He lets you know he’s getting hungry by chewing lol! Everything I own has “bird bites” taken out of it 😂
@artwithchristine I am sure I responded to your comment somehow, I can't find it😮 well. Thank you very much for your answer, you were beyond my expectations with all details, WOW! You encouraged me to try it too. I also get up early, by 4-5am. Next time, I will also read the description 😝🫣🤭🤦♀️answer it was already there, sorry. Enjoy those bites, they are priceless memories. Thank you! 🙏 😊
All good! Hey, I began to “copy the my comments after typing them out before hitting the arrow since some of mine have disappeared, too! No clue what’s up with that 🤔. Best of luck with the early mornings! It’s precious time! I have to remember that it’s ok if that early doesn’t happen every morning. Was tough to get in the habit but easier to maintain it. So excited to get to arting some mornings I pop out of bed and others well LOL!
Thank you for the advice about comments. And Yay.🎉 you are right, it's good to know that you're not alone. I was looking for an email or contact of yours on your page, but I couldn't find any. I would love to write sometime if that's fine. Thank you!
I guess I should put it! Lol!!! Hcguenard@gmail.com is my personal one. Would love to see your art!
Thank you! Very smart. Very helpful
So glad you found this helpful! This is how I have my students tape their papers in class and it makes a HUGE difference! I use this method for my own work, too. Just make sure to “de-stickify” the tape you put on the back of your artwork 🙌
Thank you for this!
You are most welcome! Hope it’s easy to follow! Feel free to ask questions if you need to!
It looks soo Majestic
Thank you so much! I was very therapeutic to create 😄
So cool ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😄
I love your art style ❤❤❤
Thank you for all the encouragement! I appreciate you a ton!
This is what crafting dreams are made from 🩵🌐🤍 All the themes. Endless possibilities
This color to me represents hope and possibility 🙌 Thank you! Was a gift for my mom
Wow❣️ I can only imagine this being the craze before tv. And in past life villages. The matriarch and daughters creating together. Giving as gifts. Writing all their wishes and dreams. Passing down the wisdom over the generations. Truly beautiful to see. Thanks for sharing and for some inspiration. Just starting my childhood at adult. So gotta find the lil artist and dreamer within and this may be well worth the practice to make pretty. Enjoy your journey! Keep sparkling. You got a new subscriber. ✨✨📖 May you have many pages full of all things good for all your books of life. ✨🫶🏽
Thank you for the beautiful and extremely kind words! I’ve arted all my life, but I’m finally feeling the most FREE and childlike in how much joy the process brings now that I’m older. Be encouraged! Best advice I was ever given by an art teacher was to create something daily even if just for 5 minutes. Passing that on to you! And be free to make UGLY art! It’s like a puzzle. - No, it’s more like navigating LIFE. You just roll with it. Enjoy the journey of discovery that art is! Be blessed! Every process is a new adventure! 🙌🙌
