    Hello Mike, I just discovered you yesterday. Since discovering you, I’ve bought your book (grow your recruiting business) and subscribed to this channel, both yesterday. I have a question. When you’re a brand new solo recruiter who uses their own last name to start their business, how do you introduce yourself to both clients and candidates? Let’s assume “The Hudson Consulting Group” was your last name, would you introduce yourself as the founder of said group or just Mike from/of said group? I’m enjoying your content so far. This video in particular is helpful and reassuring since I’ve been trying to think about these things already. As a side note, my daughter attends the University of Hartford. The parts of Hartford I’ve seen are beautiful. You picked a great place!

      Thanks Robert! I simply said "Mike Gionta from the Hudson Consulting Group" The conversation needs to be more a benefit to them than a long description about me.

    I've been on both sides and managed 20+ firms. I appreciated recruiters who: A. Got to the point. B. Did not over-sell me and patronize me. C. Partners who listened and respected what I said. D. Recruiters who kept the process simple, charged reasonable fees and delivered strong RESULTS. If not, communicated the challenges they had. I wanted to know they were actually working hard on my behalf. On the other side these days- I appreciate clients who actually get back to me. It is becoming harder and harder to get any kind of reply. This was not always the case. I just bought the book you did with Danny- two rock stars. Did not get to read it yet but hoping this can help me gain more traction. I've been in search for a long time. I've done some of your training in the past- it's top notch. NLE is very good too. I think some of your training was part of NLE I once did. Since Covid things have gotten exponentially more challenging Most companies learned to simply hire more "in-house" consultants and limit paying out high fees. I also had a turn down on a big placement because the guy did not want to come into the office- ever! It's getting rough out here.

    How are you finding candidates in today's market?? Most qualified folks aren't interested in changing jobs in this economy nor do they want to work onsite...only remote or hybrid... Many old fuddy duddy types of businesses want onsite only.

    Hey Mike, I just discovered this video and it resonates deeply with me at the moment. My biggest procrastination is on planning my days properly and I know now that if I don't do it before I close down the computer each evening, its simply not getting done. Will commit to spending 10 mins each day for the next two weeks to put together a rough plan of my days and see how that develops.

    Mike, love the tips here. I do think its success depends on varying factors. Location, skills, experience and culture. I’ve trialled it this week (and yeah, it probably needs more time). I’ve not seen the results so far. Here’s a quick snapshot: 15 emails / inmails (where I don’t have an email) 3 responses Any tips on how to move that 20% hit rate north? How long,on average, would you expect a response by? PS. I’m based in Perth, WA so that may explain a lot.

    • @halered7
      @halered7 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update: From the 15 messages, 5 responded. 5 are keen. Happy with that. In some respects, it’s a 100% hit rate based on the 5 responses to 5 interested. Now to set up the interviews. Cheers, Mike.
