Flew on Britannia in 1986 from Manchester to Majorca. It was a 767. Very modern for the time.

I grew up in the 80s and 90s and we flew Britannia and other charters often, including to Orlando and Sydney. Britannia were a cut above the rest and their 767s at the time were revolutionary. The worst was Dan Air by far. Air 2000 were amazing for a few years after starting and gave you menu cards and free bucks fizz on morning departures. Most offered 3 course meals with bread roll and butter, with free tea or coffee afterwards . Can you imagine today. I miss those times a lot.

I flew on a 767 in 91 from Birmingham to Orlando. At 8 years old I saw two things that kids will never see again: a working cockpit and a smoking section!

Nearly all our holiday flights were with Britannia in the 90s, and it was a dream come true when I ended up working with them as ground staff in the mid-90s too.

Im petrified of flying . I am 42, and have only ever flown to and from Malta and Majorca , malta in 1988 and and majorca in 1989 aged 7 and 8.Both times i flew with Britannia. The logos, the furnishing, the professionalism of the staff and everything ive seen in this video is burnt in my mind forever. I remember the cabin staff obviously realised how scared i was and allowed me into the cabin without my mum to put my mind at rest. That was the only time i have ever flown and been completely at ease. I remember the pilot saying "dont press any buttons" i said "i wont" the crew then all burst out laughing. I am now a plane nerd and know a lot of technical stuff about planes , mechanically and otherwise, despite currently not being of the belief planes are technologically advanced enough still to be safe to relaibly fly. Maybe in another 20 years. In the meantime, easyjet, ryanair and all those other budget operators need to take a leaf out of britannias book when it comes to customer service. Shame to hear there not about anymore and obviously wernt earning any money as this video shows.

Flew with Britannia Airways on many occasions in the late eighties and into the nineties on the Boeing 737-200, Boeing 737-300, Boeing 757-200, Boeing 767-200 & Boeing 767-300 I wish I'd seen Britannia Airways with the Boeing 777 Series that would have been a great aircraft to fly to Orlando Florida with & it would have took the pressure off both the Boeing 767-200 & Boeing 767-300 Series from transatlantic routes too.

They were terrible flying to Australia and had to refuel twice or three times depending which airport you left Oz from. On the return trip they almost ran out of loo paper; they told us to go sparingly! Then worse came after fog bound Abu Dhabi caused a diversion to Sharjah only to cause the next crew to run out of hours and they had to find another crew. I don’t think they survived long on the Long Haul. But short haul charter, they were innovative and one of the best at that time before Air 2000 launched. They also started off with very good service.

Passenger behaviour has worsened post lockdown if my most recent experience is anything to go by. Rudeness, aggressiveness (towards staff and fellow passengers), selfishness, refusal to listen to cabin crew, etc is off the scale. I love flying but boy has it changed in the last couple of years!

So sad that my kids will never be able to see the cockpit of an aircraft in flight ☹️ Saw the pilot every flight when I was a kid. Remember going on the flight deck with my brother and sister on a flight to Orlando. It was a BA 747-200 and it was quite a squeeze with 3 kids, the pilot, co pilot and flight engineer!
