This isn't actually that astonishing for a self-built FPV drone. For a stock drone, yes (although a DJI Mavic was climbing to Mt.Everest peak). But if you take the proper parts, max higher altitudes are possible. The drone brought to Mars (Ingenuity) managed to fly in much thinner atmosphere, closer to 48,000 m altitude on Earth. So, a self-built drone can climb all the way up to 50,000 m - if the builders are ingenius enough ;)
the mars drone doesn't have to lift off much lower altitudes, much easier to build something to fly at one altitude.
