    Im not sure as to which passage of scripture he's using, but based on my own personal experience with the Lord, If you make a deal with God and he accepts your conditions, It is truely in your best interest to do your part.

    So many Christians misunderstand this. Even I did for a while as the wife. I had a faulty view of what my role was in my marriage. God’s word and commands are just beautiful. Marriage is beautiful and so many Christians clash over how you’re supposed to treat your spouse, or rather, what I see more often is what you can get away with doing to your spouse. Thanks for putting this out there!

    Do you know during Jesus's agony in the garden he asked his father three times if he could pass his cup. Three times he asked his father if he could not have to endure this suffering. And Jesus said his agony in the garden was far worse than what the soldiers would do to his body. Meditate often on this.

    Can I share something with you? We all first learn that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son so that we could have everlasting life for whosoever would believe in him. Life is changed. Along that new walk of life, we join ourselves to other people, to pastors and to churches because we want to know more about God. Soon, now that weve listened to enough sermons and heard scholars teaching on the matters of God, we feel that we are growing in faith. But now let me share with you what no pastor or scholar will tell you and it has to do with the biggest deception in the church, which they are all a part of. Satan has presented a false testimony of Jesus Christ and Satans ministers of righteousness are the ones in the churches teaching it to you. We are to all be taught of God, not of men. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, not our God. He was sent by our God to reconcile us to our God. Jesus tells us the only true God is his Father and our Father in heaven, yet they say Jesus is the Father. Jesus tells us that his God is our God, (John 20:17)yet they say Jesus is God. Jesus tells us to only pray to thy Father in heaven (Matthew 6:6, 6:9 Luke 11:2) yet they tell you to pray to Jesus. Jesus tells us that he is the Son of God, yet they say Jesus is God. Jesus tells us that he is the Christ, yet they say that Jesus is God. Jesus tells us that thy Father in heaven is the only true God, yet they say "But Jesus IS the Father " . God gave record of his Son when he said "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased" yet they say, "Jesus is God. They teach that God is a trinity or a triune god. ALL of them. But there is only one God the Father says Jesus Christ whom your God commanded you to hear. They teach that Jesus is coequal coeternal and that he is one and the same with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Yet Jesus says "My Father is Greater than I" and Neither is he that is sent, greater than he that sent him" They teach that Jesus is God. Can a person who once believed that Jesus Christ is the Son of God ,whom God sent, be able to return to God after a forgetting that Jesus is the mediator between them and God, but instead believes that Jesus is God? Think about that. You are saved by believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Father hears you for believing in his Son. But after listening to false teachers and false doctrines, you now believe that Jesus is the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost, and it is false. Jesus is the Christ of God, not your God. Jesus is your mediator between you and God, not your God. Jesus is your advocate, not your God. Jesus is your Lord and saviour, not your God. You are to pray to and to acknowledge and to give thanks to your Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ. You are to thank your Father in heaven for sending Jesus Christ for without Jesus Christ, you would not have your Father in heaven, and do not have your Father in heaven if you truly believe that Jesus is your God and not your brethren. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, not God. Jesus is of God, he was with God, he was given all power and authority from God, and he is your Master, your Lord, your friend your brethren, your mediator, your advocate, and your way to thy Father in heaven, but he is not your God . Those who worship Jesus are in error. You are to worship your Father in heaven in the name of Jesus Christ whom he sent, because Jesus told you to worship your Father in heaven, for the Father seeketh such to worship him. The apostasy is the act of falling away from what you once believed and knew to be the truth. Please consider what im telling you and call out to your Father in heaven, and acknowledge that your Father in heaven is your God and that he is in control and that all souls belong to him. Call to him in the name of Jesus Christ whom he sent and ask him for forgiveness. Repent for worshipping his Son and ask him for his mercy and he will give it to you. If you do not know who your God is, then you can never return to him. Know that your God is your Father in heaven who Created you, not Jesus. Jesus is Lord, not God. Your Father is the All powerful, Almighty, Supreme Ruler and Creator of heaven and earth and everything in them that Begat Jesus Christ, anointed Jesus Christ, sent Jesus Christ , Gave Jesus Christ all power and authority, raised Jesus Christ from the dead and loves you and wants you to turn back to him and believe in his Son and be saved, not to worship his Son and be part of the world. The Falling away is now and here and in the churches. It is a rejection of Christ.

Especially since the passage is about how the jewish leaders dragged her from her home and threw her onto the ground as Jesus feet. No mention about the man she was with. Even though the Levitical law demands BOTH be stoned to death. All sin is forgiven for those who proclaim/confess Jesus is the son of God and receive the gift of salvation by faith. And its very sad your church focuses on sin and NOT the continuing wonderful growth in Grace

    Lemme know when you find those solas in any of the early church father’s writings.

    • @BethelBaptistChurchKC
      @BethelBaptistChurchKC 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      While the specific terms of the Reformation "solas"-sola scriptura, sola fide, sola gratia, solo Christo, and soli Deo gloria-were not explicitly used by the early Church Fathers, the foundational principles behind them were indeed present in early Christian thought. Here’s how each sola aligns with early teachings and how we can refute claims that they were absent from the original faith. Sola Scriptura: Early Church Fathers like Augustine and Jerome affirmed the authority of Scripture, emphasizing its critical role in doctrine and practice. Augustine famously stated that he would not believe in the Gospel without the Church’s guidance, highlighting Scripture’s authoritative place. While the phrase "sola scriptura" is Reformation-era, the principle of Scripture as the ultimate authority is foundational in early Christianity, as evidenced by the Fathers' reliance on Scripture for resolving theological disputes. Sola Fide: The writings of Paul, especially in Romans and Galatians, were crucial for early theologians who emphasized faith’s essential role in justification. Fathers like Origen and Augustine acknowledged faith as the means through which we receive grace, aligning with the essence of sola fide. Thus, even if the exact phrase wasn’t used, the concept was integral to early Christian belief. Sola Gratia: The notion of grace as the unmerited gift of God was central in early Christian theology, particularly in Augustine's writings, where he articulated that salvation is by grace alone. Although discussions included the relationship between faith and works, the understanding that salvation is entirely a gift from God resonates with sola gratia. Solo Christo: The early Church emphasized the centrality of Christ for salvation. Writers such as Ignatius of Antioch and Athanasius clearly established Jesus as the sole mediator. This focus on Christ as the exclusive source of salvation aligns closely with the principle of solo Christo. Soli Deo Gloria: The early Fathers often expressed the idea that all things are for God’s glory. Writers like Irenaeus highlighted the purpose of creation and salvation as ultimately glorifying God. This intent to glorify God was implicit in early worship and theology, reflecting the heart of soli Deo gloria. While the Reformation "solas" may not have been articulated in the same terms, like say things like "the Trinity" by early Church Fathers, the underlying truths were integral to their teachings. The early Church's formative nature allowed for diverse expressions of these doctrines, and the Reformation sought to return to these foundational principles that were often obscured over time. Thus, rather than being absent from the original Christian faith, the solas are rooted in the very essence of early Christian thought, supported by Scripture and the writings of the Fathers.

    He describes the fall of the temple that would be in their generation, that happened 40 years later. It’s a hard truth but it needs to be said. God requires us to forgive others as we’ve been forgive.

    Where does it say murderers do not have eternal life? You think King david will not be in heaven?

      1 John 3:15 in the ESV (English Standard Version): “Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.” The meaning remains similar, emphasizing that hatred is akin to murder and that living in such a state is incompatible with having eternal life. As for King David, despite his sins, his repentance is key. David’s deep repentance, as seen in places like Psalm 51, reflects his genuine sorrow and plea for forgiveness. Scripture highlights that God forgives those who truly repent, and in the New Testament, David is still called a man after God’s heart (Acts 13:22). This suggests that his sins were forgiven, and he will be in heaven through God’s grace.

    Shrovetide is the English equivalent of what is known in the greater part of Southern Europe as the “Carnival”, a word which, in spite of wild suggestions to the contrary, is undoubtedly to be derived from the “taking away of flesh” (carnem lee’are) which marked the beginning of Lent. The English term “shrovetide” (from “to shrive”, or hear confessions) is sufficiently explained by a sentence in the Anglo-Saxon “Ecclesiastical Institutes” translated from Theodulphus by Abbot Aelfric (q.v.) about A.D. 1000: “In the week immediately before Lent everyone shall go to his confessor and confess his deeds and the confessor shall so shrive him as he then may hear by his deeds what he is to do [in the way of penance]”. In this name shrovetide the religious idea is uppermost, and the same is true of the German Fastnacht (the eve of the fast). It is intelligible enough that before a long period of deprivations human nature should allow itself some exceptional licence in the way of frolic and good cheer. No appeal to vague and often inconsistent traces of earlier pagan customs seems needed to explain the general observance of a carnival celebration. The only clear fact which does not seem to be adequately accounted for is the widespread tendency to include the preceding Thursday (called in French Jeudi gras and in German fetter Donnerstag-just as Shrove Tuesday is respectively called Mardi gras and fetter Dienstag) with the Monday and Tuesday which follow Quinquagesima. The English custom of eating pancakes was undoubtedly suggested by the need of using up the eggs and fat which were, originally at least, prohibited articles of diet during the forty days of Lent. The same prohibition is, of course, mainly responsible for the association of eggs with the Easter festival at the other end of Lent. Although the observance of Shrovetide in England never ran to the wild excesses which often marked this period of licence in southern climes, still various sports and especially games of football were common in almost all parts of the country, and in the households of the great it was customary to celebrate the evening of Shrove Tuesday by the performance of plays and masques. One form of cruel sport peculiarly prevalent at this season was the throwing at cocks; neither does it seem to have been confined to England. The festive observance of Shrovetide had become far too much a part of the life of the people to be summarily discarded at the Reformation. In Dekker’s “Seven Deadly Sins of London“, 1606, we read: “they presently, like prentices upon Shrove Tuesday, take the game into their own hands and do what they list”; and we learn from contemporary writers that the day was almost everywhere kept as a holiday, while many kinds of horseplay seem to have been tolerated or winked at in the universities and public schools. The Church repeatedly made efforts to check the excesses of the carnival, especially in Italy. During the sixteenth century in particular a special form of the Forty Hours Prayer was instituted in many places on the Monday and Tuesday of Shrovetide, partly to draw the people away from these dangerous occasions of sin, partly to make expiation for the excesses committed. By a special constitution addressed by Benedict XIV to the archbishops and bishops of the Papal States, and headed “Super Bacchanalibus”, a plenary indulgence was granted in 1747 to those who took part in the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament which was to be carried out daily for three days during the carnival season. -HERBERT THURSTON
