Solved. I had the same issue. Opened Lenovo vantage, there was an update for the BIOS which fixed this issue. Just note that after the flash of the BIOS you'll need to input your BitDefender phrase from your Microsoft account.

do you still have the problem? I have the same issues too, and I've found the solution for myself, hope it works for you too and its not to late... (in case you switched for a new device, or anyone else watching this video having the same issue too) 1. when the laptop is sleeping (idle timeout / lid closed), the laptop is entering sleep state, but overheats when in sleep mode, I noticed the esc keyboard led is not turning off, while my sister's laptop esc key is turning off when entering sleep state, so noticed as the laptop failed to enter sleep state then I tried to unplug all attached device from usb ports and my laptop finally entered sleep state normally, esc key led is turning off, and not overheating anymore while the laptop is in sleep. And it turns out, my logitech wireless mouse usb receiver that prevents my laptop to go into full sleep state. I saw your video have wireless usb mouse receiver attached, maybe try to plug it out and see if it solves the sleep & overheating issue... 2. the not turning on issue, it all started from my laptop failed to wake up from sleep, forced it to shutdown then when trying to turn it on again, it wont turn on, tried power+fn+f2 I found from online guides and videos, works for first time and second time only. Also I noticed if I tried to reboot, it wont boot back, forcing it to shutdown will prevent me to power up directly, need to press power+fn+f2 combination keys and some wait to get it back on again. when its not working anymore, and getting frustated because all of my important and work files inside my laptop, bringing to the service center would be time consuming, I disassembled the laptop by myself, detached the battery, pressing the power buttons multiple time, attaching it back, assembled and it solves the issue! turning on and off no problem, also it solves my "flip to boot" which previously not working properly but now it works flawlessly! by the way, my device is Lenovo flex 5 with Ryzen 5 5500U, loving this device and I hope so others not hating this device family because of hardware/driver related problems xD

Good video, I'm experiencing the same here now on holiday with my 1 month old flex 5, i3 gen 12. Too hot to touch, won't start. This happened after plugged in to charge the whole day, with the lid down,i assume in sleep mode. What's the fix here?

Well, after 5 weeks, my Flex 570 came back, but a strange blip had appeared on the left palm rest. Then I was getting ready to send it back AGAIN when the overheating issue reappeared. It's NOT fixed! This is hands down the worst PC I have ever bought!!

I have same problem with a Lenovo Flex 5 Raytheon 7. Tried calling Lenovo support, her "fix" was to put sleep to NEVER! I hung up on her. I also bought from Costco. Thought was good deal but it's junk, am going back to HP

I am also having this issue. Purchased at Costco, and several of the reviews on the site, are also saying similar issue. Did you ever find a resolution? I have spent 4 hours on lenovo premium support with no resolution.
